About: I run a 5k every day and can handle large or small dogs. For boarding I have 2 acres of fenced in grass nearby where I run by husky at daily. My experience : I've had dogs in my home since I was 7 and was tasked with their walks and training. I now have a 2yo siberian Husky, Shryko, who I have off-leash trained for hikes and river adventures. So I'm very active, and my dogs have a lot of enriched exploring and exercise. All this with only treats, praise and regular patient consistency. I am a circus artist and entertainer by nights and weekends when the work is available. I spend most week days free at home honing my skill set and arranging bookings. Therefore plenty of time to head out for walks, or break and enrich a dog's day with playtime. I have a fenced in yard and large living room. 1 dog, 8 month 40lb siberian husky girl who loves company and playtime. Also have a large crate if separation is needed.
“I ask Jamie to walk my dog every time I go out of town. I know I can trust him to be there, take my dog out for the full hour, over 2 miles, and give me a full report on how it went. My dog is not the easiest to walk but he seems to do well when Jamie has him and it’s great to know he is getting enough exercise and smells to last until I get home.”

“Mallory was so awesome with Butters’ walk. She gives me updates every walk and she made sure to read Butters needs for walks during these hot days. Thank you so so much. hope to have Butters’ walks again with you soon.”

“Kyani treated my dog as if she were her own fur baby! My pet was VERY well cared for, and I got detailed updates and pictures for each visit. Definitely planning to book with Kyani again if she’s available!”

“This is my first time using Rover for my senior dog and Keena is wonderful. She has always been on time, takes him for the full time booked and Charlie is happy when she brings him back. I will continue to use her.”

About: In 22 years, I’ve had dogs, cats, birds, horses, hedgehogs, etc, etc. I love all creatures of any shape, size, or temperament. I will adapt to your pets’ personality and boundaries and discover how to make them feel the most loved! I am taking college classes online, which means I entirely make my own schedule! Day or night, I will make time to love and care for your pet. I work 2 days a week and can often move my shifts around with advance notice. I always let the animal come to me first. The most important thing is to let them know that they can trust me, so that I can learn more about what they need to feel comfortable and cared for. I follow the lead of the pet, whether it be fast-paced walking, stopping to sniff every tree, or relaxing on the couch for an overnight stay. I’m very attentive to an animal’s communication and would love to build a trusting relationship with your pet.

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life, and they’ve always been more than pets—they’ve been family. Growing up as an only child, my dog was my best friend, and I took on the responsibility of crate and potty training him. I’ve cared for both small and large dogs, including a pit bull, and I understand their unique needs. I also have some experience with puppies and love learning about their specific care requirements. Whether it’s keeping up with their energy, helping with training, or providing plenty of affection, I’m ready to give your pet the love and attention they deserve. I’m currently between jobs, which gives me complete flexibility to care for your pet. Whether you need daytime, evening, or even last-minute walks or sitting, I’m fully available to meet your needs. I believe that caring for pets in their home environment is the best way to ensure they feel safe, secure, and comfortable. Being in a familiar space reduces stress and helps pets maintain their routine, which is essential for their well-being. I’m dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment wherever I care for them, treating every pet as if they were my own. Whether it's feeding, walking, playing, or simply providing companionship, I take the time to learn each pet’s needs and preferences. I understand how important it is for pets to feel loved and cared for while their owners are away.
About: I have experience with both dogs and cats, female and male, kittens/puppies being bottle fed, middle aged animals, and seniors taking medication. I also have experience with aggressive cats specifically. My name is Mary by everyone calls me Mae. My pronouns are They/Them. I am looking to earn money through my passions. One of those is helping animals! I am available any time necessary to do checkups on your animal(s)! I make sure their water is always full, that they aren't over or underfed, and that they've had plenty of bathroom breaks, playtime, and cuddles! I'll give them treats if you let me too!

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Alorton. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Alorton.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
