“Cameron was a perfect match for our family and what we were looking for in a pet sitter. She kept us updated regularly, sent all of the pictures, always kept us in the loop if she was leaving the house. We came back to a clean house and a very happy puppy and cat. It took a lot of stress off of my plate knowing they were being taken care of by someone who loves them like her own! We will be booking with her again in the future for sure 😊”

“Since the last time using rover, my gf and I were unsure about giving it another try. Ayla was so good to keep us updated on our kids. And if that wasn’t enough to urge you to book her; she even brought in our pkgs from outside so they wouldn’t sit on the porch and refrigerated the ones that needed to be kept cool. On top of that she washed the bedding which she slept on and left us next to nothing to do when we got home except unpack. We will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Raye is AWESOME!!! This was our second time requesting her services. She was great with our fur babies and we did not have to worry about anything while on vacation. We will definitely be requesting her again and highly recommend her! Thank you again Raye!! :)”
“First time leaving my 2 dogs with a pet sitter. - one is six years old and one is four. Holly worked with my extreme anxiety about leaving my babies. She was quickly responsive to my numerous texts and calls throughout the day. She sent photos and spent lots of good quality time with the dogs. ”
About: I worked at two different holistic pet stores for two years combined, so I have extensive knowledge on pets, pet products and know several emergency vets and pet services in the Chattanooga and Nashville area. I have pet sat since I was 10 years old and done overnight house sitting stays since I was 17. I have had three dogs in my lifetime, and each one lived a long and happy life, including my 6 year old lab who stays with my parents in the Nashville area. I trained all my dogs, and my 6 year old lab has seperation anxiety, so I am aware of the quirks that dogs can have! I also had a cat when I was younger who was diagnosed with diabetes toward the end of her life, so I learned how to administer insulin shots on cats, which I'm sure transfers pretty well to dogs. I have cared for my own senior dogs, sold products to benefit senior dogs, and am fit enough to lift any dog that needs assistance getting into the house or car! I am very knowledgeable, responsible and very easy to get along with! I’m currently unemployed and trying to fill the gap while I look for something full-time. I have a husband that can take care of my animals so I can fully invest in pet-sitting right now! I will care for your pets as if they were my own. I’m the type of person who will cross a street just to pet a cute dog or a stray cat. I’ve never met a pet I didn’t like, or that didn’t like me (which to me is the best testament to my character!)
“Adria did a great job, she was very easy to work with and my dogs really liked her as well. She was punctual, easy to communicate with, friendly and professional. 5 stars!”

“I recently hired Ian to watch my beloved fur babies while I was away for the weekend, and I couldn't be happier with the service he provided. From the moment he started caring for my dogs, I could tell he truly loves animals and was committed to making sure my pets felt comfortable and cared for. He sent me regular updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It's always nerve-wracking leaving your pets with someone new, but I could tell my dogs was in good hands with him. I highly recommend Ian to anyone looking for a trustworthy and reliable pet sitter.”

“Monique has done a great job taking care of my 2 Dobermans! She always follows my 100 rules for them and makes sure all of their needs and wants are fulfilled! We will continue to use her every time we need someone to watch my big babies.”

About: I've taken care of dogs for over 15 years. I treat every pet like they're my own and take the time to learn their individual personality, routine, and needs. I'm patient, attentive, and comfortable providing care for pets with different energy levels and personalities- from playful pups who need lots of exercise to senior pets who prefer a little extra TLC. I'm currently available anytime of the day to play with your fur babies! I'm currently available for boarding on the weekdays and weekends. While I'm there, I'll provide plenty pf attention, playtime, walks, meals, potty breaks, and companionship based on your pets individual needs. Communication Is important to me. I'll provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for.

“Amazing! We didn't have to worry about a thing. It's usually hard for us to go on vacation and stressful to find someone trustworthy. We were very happy with Rhonda!! Thank you so much!!”

“Hailey was amazing! I’ve never left my dog with a sitter before. He is old, blind, and has kidney disease so it can be a lot to care for him. She did a wonderful job. He was very comfortable with her and she handled his accidents with professionalism and care. That was my main concern and she put my mind at ease with updates while I was away which I appreciated so much. I came home to a house the way I left it and a content dog. I would highly recommend her to anyone.”

“Alicia and her children did an amazing job with Chloe. The communication was prompt and consistent. I received many pictures while we were gone. It was the longest we’ve been away from our pup. She even stayed to comfort her during some fireworks while Chloe was very anxious. My plants were well cared for, too! My home was as we left it and Chloe was happy and healthy when we returned. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone.”

About: I grew up with a rotating cast of pets in my house, from hermit crabs to snakes to hamsters to cats and dogs. I currently have 3 cats and a big yard with tons of space for playing! Can’t wait to care for your babies, whether they’re furry, crawly, or scaly 🐛 I’m a student and I work from home so I have plenty of time and flexibility for pet sitting! I love to go for walks and I’d love to take your fur baby along! My home is a large, spacious bungalow with a huge fenced yard and tons of space for fetch, dragonfly chasing, sunbathing, or bug hunting (whatever your baby is into). My own cats get at least an hour of outside time every morning and your fur baby is welcome to join us!
“Emily was the best with our 7mo old Weimaraner, Dodger, while we took a week-long vacation. She was consistent, reliable, sent us pictures/updates and walked him daily. We would absolutely recommend Emily and plan to use her again in the future!”

“Sharla was wonderful with my dog! She was very friendly and responsive when I contacted her, and our "meet and greet" went very well. She stayed at my house and watched my dog for a weekend. During that time she sent me photos and text messages. My house was spotless when I came home and my dog was happy; I think he even missed her! Sharla is very dependable and trustworthy and it is apparent that she loves animals. She took great care of my pup and did everything I asked. I highly recommend her and will not hesitate to use her again.”

“Aaron is incredibly professional and easy to work with. He’s great with our GSD and helps him get the activity he needs! Aaron is very thorough in preparing to take care of someone’s dog correctly and is prompt with his coordination and sent us lots of updates on how our dog was doing. We are incredibly satisfied with Aaron and thankful he could look after our dog!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of October 2026, there are 217 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Allegre. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Allegre walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Allegre maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Allegre choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
