About: I am a nature and animal enthusiast. I began caring for animals in high school giving me 10+ years of experience taking care of animals. From house sitting, dog walking to administering medications, I have had the opportunity to care for so many different animals. I have taken care of pets in the comfort of their own home which always seems like the most stress-free option. I love to take pictures of sweet squishy faces. About: Hi! My name is Cal, and I’ve been working with dogs since I was a kid. I grew up volunteering at the humane society and took classes in college on how to train shelter dogs. I have two dogs; one Golden Retriever and one Red Heeler who love to play with other dogs. They are high energy, so we go on regular hikes every day. I’m a firefighter/EMT, so you can feel safe knowing that I can render care if needed. If your dog likes to go on hikes, they’ll have a good time with us. I currently work weekends and some Fridays. My schedule is pretty open during the week and I am flexible to be there when you need me. I have trackers for my dogs and can provide one for yours if your dog is good off leash. I follow directions well and can tailor my day based on your needs.

I also dog-sat several dogs for four years during college and experienced house-sitting for a lovely couple for three weeks in summer 2024. I love doing my job as I treat them as my own. I will make sure dogs have a blast time and are loved while they are with me. I over-communicate by sending updated texts and pictures, or videos. I would say you come to the right dog sitter here who loves dogs like crazy. Since I work full-time, I am primarily available on weekends, with occasional weekday availability depending on my schedule. If you are comfortable with it, I may also be able to care for your dog in my home while I am at work. “David is simply the best! We came to Santa Fe from Denver for a few days (Monday-Thursday) and we have 7 and 8 year old Border Terriers. Our male has epilepsy, and we do not leave him alone, so we hired David to watch them. David came on Monday night, Tuesday day, Tuesday night, Wednesday day and Wednesday night so that we could go out to dinner, go to the spa, etc. He stayed for several hours at a time, which was a big ask, especially since he has his own pup, but we couldn't ask for a better experience with him. He arrived on time or early, walked them, played with them, administered medications, gave them snacks and loved them! He sent us lots of videos and photos and updates, so we knew they were being taken care of and meds given, etc. He is also just a lovely person, and we really enjoyed getting to know him. He has a calming energy which was great for my boy with epilepsy. We won't hesitate to use him again if we go back to Santa Fe. Thank you so much David!”

I still travel by van and offer in-home pet sitting anywhere around the American West. When I lived in Tucson, I volunteered at the shelter and fostered dogs.
