“Steven welcomed our two sister mini-dachshunds into his house for a week while my family went on vacation. As these are senior dogs (15+), they do have some special needs, but Steven handled both with care and attention while sending us daily updates with pictures. We are so grateful for Steven and his family for the care they gave to our babies.”

“We had a great experience with Melanie! Max was taken well care of for the two nights he stayed with her! She took care of all his needs and treated him just like her own! She was good about texting me through out his stay to tell me how he was doing and also sent lots of pictures! He seemed happy and loved while we were gone! We look forward to using her again soon!!”

“My Achilles has become a repeat client. We love the care and attention Dalis shows him while in her care. The picture updates of him playing and having fun gives me such relief to know he is in great hands.”

“We love Brett and Christian so much! Raina always has the best time and is so well cared for. He was super responsive when we got in a pinch during our trip & very flexible. We very highly recommend!!”

“Becky was wonderful with our baby. This was our little cuddle bug's first time being away from us since being adopted so we were a little worried but she settled right in. We could tell by the pictures Becky sent that Ani was enjoying herself which allowed us to relax and enjoy our vacation. We'll definitely ask Becky to keep her any time we need a sitter in the future!”

“We love Jennifer and her husband! They take care of both of our pups like they were their own. I really appreciated the multiple photos she sent each day. We will definitely be coming back again and again!”

“Kia was so accommodating with my last minute booking. My Remi and her Ozzy have become the best of buds lol. Glad I was able to find her. Will definitely be booking with her again for my boarding needs.”

“Here’s a warm, genuine 5-star review you can use: Hanna took amazing care of my dog while I was away! She kept me updated with photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear my pup was loved, well cared for, and happy the entire stay. Communication was excellent, and she went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. I would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring dog sitter. Thank you so much, Hanna”

About: Hi 👋 I’m Victoria! I graduated with a degree in Biochemistry with a concentration in pre-veterinary medicine from Mississippi State University in 2019. Then was admitted to Ross University for their veterinary medicine program. I love animals but decided I’d rather own the vet clinic than be the veterinarian so I worked as a vet tech while getting my MBA. I finished my masters in December of 2022 and have plans to start my own animal hospital. I have volunteered with several animal shelters and wildlife rehab centers since 2016. I worked at Animal Tracks Veterinary Hospital from June 2018 until August 2019. I have been trained in dog CPR at Mississippi State University’s school of veterinary medicine. I can do grooming (dogs and cats), with nail trim and ear cleaning for an extra $20 fee. I am able to medicate (oral, injections, creams, etc...). I have closely worked with with diabetic cats, cats with strokes (wobbly cat syndrome), post surgery care, and canine seizures. I can go on long runs, take them to the dog park, or just spend some time cuddling your furry family member. I will send daily pictures or videos of your pet while you’re away as well! I have experience working with domestic animals (large, small, and farm) as well as bobcats, bunnies, squirrels, birds, skunks, opossums, and coyotes. I am currently working on obtaining my wildlife rehabilitator certification. I’d love the chance to come meet your baby! I am currently working full-time for a tech company and am remote. If your fur babies need out in the middle of the day I can accommodate this as ling as I can use the WIFI. I have a cat, and 2 Australian Cattle Dogs who are very friendly. They are welcome to stay with me if they are potty trained and get along well with others.
About: I grew up in a vet clinic having a father as a Veterinarian calling it my home away from home. I chose to stay in the animal field with the passion I have for animals and be that person that owners can trust when they leave their animals and have a peace of mind.I have tons of vet tech experience. I am currently a stay at home mom with my 2 sons,Beckett and Brooks,4 cats, and a dog.We are all enjoying summer at the house with tons of free time , so watching after animals will fit into my schedule perfectly. I have a fenced in back yard and let them out very frequently, several times during the day and of course first thing in the morning and right before bedtime. My house is very clean and there’s plenty of space for your pet.I will follow any instructions you leave me whether it’s feeding or medication. When they are at my home they are considered family. They can free roam, sleep in the bed with me, get on the couch, the whole point is I want them to feel comfortable and have fun!!
About: I've had my two dogs since they were puppies and they are now 7 years old. My Ella had puppies a few years ago so I have experience with all age ranges of dogs. I currently work part-time on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturdays nights. I'm currently pregnant so I plan to take this on full time and quit my current part job. I have a pretty big yard and I'm in a very calm and quiet neighborhood. I have two fur babies that would love to keep your dog company. I do own a large dog crate if it is needed. My home is animal friendly since I have dogs already.

About: I am highly skilled in animal care. I have been pet sitting and caring for animals for 30+ years. I treat my animals and client animals like my children. I have worked in the animal medical field and have been a Veterinary Assistant for 30 years. I can give medications and follow recommended medical treatment for all animals. I personally have a working mini farm. I am willing to farm set also. I have experience with horses, donkeys, goats and poultry. I do work 3 days a week. But I usually only pet sit on the days that I am available, so that I am able to give the pets the best care and attention. I can come to your home for pet walking or letting them outside for a frolic. I offer feeding, and medication giving. This can be pills or injections (insulin if needed). I have a fenced in back yard. I am willing to allow trusted dogs to go off leash. Leash walking is no problem at all. I do have 5 small dogs under 10 lbs. Ages ranging from 1 yr to 13 yrs old. All very well behaved.
“Toya is AMAZING. Our baby loves spending time with Auntie Toya and is very comfortable (even for being a shelter dog). She has nervous tendencies but don’t come up when Auntie Toya is around… Toya spoils her and loves on her and I have no worries because I know she being spoiled while I’m away. Love knowing she’s in loving hands. Brings me such peace of mind while I’m away. 🫶🏼”

Grace and her husband were the BEST Rover I’ve ever had!! Very intentional about socializing all dogs in the home, SUPER great at meeting any unique needs or requests, and even made a personalized Christmas ornament with a handmade picture of my pups!! HIGHLY recommend!! It always makes me more confident when my dogs look forward to arriving at a place, and they obviously LOVED their time with Grace.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Alabama Fork home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Alabama Fork.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Alabama Fork sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
