“Our original house sitter (not from Rover) cancelled about a week away from departure. Because of the timing there were no kennel options (we don't do cheap with the babies), and Rover past sitters were all unavailable. Stephen came up with no previous jobs in this area but seemed ok on the site. So with our previous good experiences with Rover we decided to give him a try. He came over for about an hour the day after we picked him to meet the doggies and find out about the house which is large with a lot of automation. By the end of that meeting we were comfortable with his abilities. While we were away, he checked in with us daily, sent pictures and asked good questions on things that I had forgot to mention. The doggies took to him right away and ate well (one gets finnicky if he is worried) while having a good time with him. We always tell house sitters to make themselves at home and have never had a problem with the condition of the house when we returned. Stephen was no exception, he left the house clean, vacuumed, dishes clean and left the bedding as instructed by my wife. One of our dogs is very good at escaping and runs across roads, through yards and can get lost. Stephen apparently had no problems keeping Henry busy but, on a leash, outside of the house as observed on the outdoor Ring cameras during walks. We (including the doggies) look forward to seeing him again. We would highly recommend him for your consideration.”

“Madison is AMAZING. She is just a great person who took care of my babies and my home just as I would. We have never left our cats alone overnight but circumstances caused the need to be gone for 8 days - to say I was nervous about how the babies were going to be is an understatement. Madison made sure they were taken care of and sent so many pictures and videos and updated us numerous times to let us know how everyone was doing. This is my first experience using Rover and I'm so happy I did. I love my friends, but no way they would have taken care of cats like Madison did. I feel like I can actually travel now as long as Madison is free to take care of everything for me ❤️”

“Danielle did a great job! Thunder seemed very content when we arrived home. Danielle did everything we asked of her, she was reliable and I didn't have to worry about Thunder while we were gone. We will use her again! Thank you, Danielle!”

“Vivien did an excellent job caring for my aging feline on the 4th of July when I had to be away from her. Throughout the evening of fireworks explosions, Vivien kept my Kitty calm and soothed her so that she felt safe. She stayed with her overnight and left when all was well the next morning. The peace of mind this gave me was tremendous. Her communication with me was excellent and she left my home in the same great condition that she found it. I definitely recommend Vivien for you Feline or Canine pet sitting needs and for overnight stays if necessary. I will definitely be calling on Vivian again for her pet care services.”

“Meghan was amazing. She took on sitting Smoke very last minute and did not disappoint. Smoke is special needs pit bull and needs special person to care for him in my absence. I did not have to worry about his care while I was out of state! She sent a lot of pics and videos. Meghan exceeded expectations and I will use her again if she is available.”

“Maria took excellent care of my babies and house. She provided daily updates with pictures. My house was left in perfect condition. I would definitely recommend her and will be using her for future visits.”

“Callie is a fantastic pet sitter! She was responsive, and sent regular updates and photos. We felt completely at ease knowing our pets were in great hands and would definitely book with her again.”

“Hope was so professional and friendly. We enjoyed getting the updates and photos from her while we were away. Everything was perfect when we arrived home. We will definately use Hope again to stay with our dogs.”

“Ren stayed at our house and watched our two dogs for the weekend. She sent photos and was easy to communicate with. Returned to a clean home and happy pups! Will definitely book again.”

“Amy was the absolute best choice for us as we left our puppy for the first time overnight. She was communicative before, during, and after her stay with our pup. She sent lots of pictures and updates, and it really put us at ease. I would recommend Amy to anyone, and we will definitely be using her again in the future!”

“This is the first time I've ever needed to hire a pet sitter for my senior cat, so I was very nervous about having a stranger in my home and how my fur baby would react. However, Jennifer eased my mind about the whole process. She was understanding and communicative, which was greatly appreciated. This was just an an overnight trip, but she will be taking care of him again soon when I'll be gone longer. It's such a relief to know I can get some R&R knowing that my pet and my home are in good hands. ?”

“Does a great job! Very professional and communicates to my comfort level that I never have to guess if everything is alright. I have used her services many times and will continue to book because she treats my Kingston so great! I think he loves her more than me at times because she spoils him so much. It’s great to have someone look after him and treat him so well that his care is never a stressor for me when I travel. I know he’s going to have a wonderful time with her.”
About: I have always been around dogs. From about the age of 8. My close cousins had dogs, I was around for many litter births and makings of pups. I know how to feed puppies on bottles, train puppies and correct bad learned behaviors. I’m currently working on making this work for me full time and can fit pet care into my schedule for a majority of my days. I will go out and play with dogs, walk dogs and feed them. Crating or keeping the dogs out will be a breeze. I can get very hyper dogs to listen and calm down.

About: I’ve always had dogs growing up, and while my parents are away I go over and house sit and take care of their dogs. I also watch my neighbors dogs while they are on vacation. I’m currently working part-time and will be finishing up my college semester. During summer I will have a lot of free time during mid-day to check in on your babies! My dogs are like household members so I treat them with respect and give them lots of love. I take them out, and take them for walks when needed and they love to go for drives (especially when it ends with pupcups.)

I provide gentle, attentive care for pets in clients homes daily. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Thank you!
About: I'm a responsible and compassionate pet sitter with hands-on experience working at an animal rescue in Odessa, Florida, caring for pets of all backgrounds. As a Maine Coon owner, I understand the importance of creating a safe, loving environment. My military experience has instilled a strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and reliability. Whether your pet needs exercise, companionship, or special care, I'll treat them like family while giving you peace of mind. **I am unable to offer boarding in my own home and I am unable to stay overnight at the moment** Pet care is a natural fit for my lifestyle and one of my passions! I’m currently doing a remote internship while serving Active Duty, with plans to transition into the Reserves in May. This flexibility allows me to dedicate quality time to caring for pets, whether it’s dropping in for visits, ensuring they’re well-fed and loved, or providing companionship while their humans are away. I’m also planning to start my own pet-sitting company, so every opportunity to care for your furry family members is not only a joy but also part of building my dream! Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets in your home. FAQs for House Sitting - Alabama Fork
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 362 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Alabama Fork. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alabama Fork walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alabama Fork maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alabama Fork choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
