About: I have cared for my family's pets for over 30 years, I love meeting new animals and getting to know their personality! I have experience at every stage of a pet's life, from puppies and kittens to elder pets. I have experience administering mediation, caring to your pet's specific needs, assisting disabled pets, training puppies and crate training. I am dedicated to being a caring and thoughtful pet-sitter. I love animals and can't wait to meet your special friend! I currently have 1 dog and 2 cats. My dog, Zoey, is a 2-year-old puppy that I got at 12 weeks old, so my puppy training skills are fresh! I also have 2 cats, Archie and Theo, who are brother cats from the same litter. I've had them since they were kittens. Zoey grew up with the cats, so she is well trained with cats and she is very well behaved. Zoey and the cats get along with other animals very well. They are sweet, loving pets that play together and nap side-by-side. I work from home full time, so I am always at the house. I am very flexible to whatever your pet's routine is. Whatever they need, I can incorporate it into my day. At booking, I will provide a questionnaire and you can advise me of any needs or requests for your pet's routine, and I will make their routine a part of mine! In my home, I provide pets with several comfortable areas for them to lounge and sleep in, with bedding and blankets. I also provide several toys and chew toys that are usually left out for them to play with (unless requested not to). Meals are kept on schedule and any mediation or vitamins are administered on-time. Water is always filtered and clean, changed daily (or use a continuous running system). Safety is my top priority. I want to ensure that your pet has a safe and relaxing time during their stay, I will provide a separate room for your animal if needed or requested, with their own bedding and play-area. I have several rooms in the house that are not used, so I keep this space reserved for your pets. I will collect your vet information at booking and take your pet to their vet if necessary; I also am a member of the local Dauphin County Animal Hospital, which I can use if needed for emergencies. I will maintain communication with you and check-in daily with photos; I am also open to take any inquiries, if you would like to check-in on your pets.

“Kayla is absolutely amazing- she took care of our three cats with so much compassion and really made an effort to communicate with us during our time away. The house was spotless annd well-cared for- and this was the first time all three of our somewhat anxious kitties seemed to have a seamless time adjusting to us being away. It made our time over the holidays so enjoyable knowing such a great pet friend was with them. I cannot rate her highly enough!!!”

About: I have spent over four years working hands on in a busy rescue shelter, providing daily husbandry, medical care, behavioral support, and safe handling for animal friends of every temperament and condition. I supported new arrivals who came in confident and social, shy friends who shut down from stress, and pets who needed calm guidance before they felt safe. Working with furry friends who were excited, anxious, grieving, fearful, or adjusting to major life changes taught me how to respond with patience, steady communication, and professional skill. My background includes senior care, medical needs support, and specialized routines for friends who rely on consistency. I have managed medication schedules, wound care, mobility challenges, special diets, and emotional needs with confidence. I worked closely with veterinarians and served as a vet tech at the shelter, gaining hands on experience with medical procedures, behavior observation, and safe handling for friends in all conditions. I am trained in SAFER assessment handling and comfortable supporting pets who benefit from structure, reassurance, and predictable routines. I am equally confident with playful energetic friends who enjoy activity and quiet friends who prefer soft company and peaceful days. I have also been trusted to support furry friends during palliative care, something I approach with deep respect. Being asked to be present for a friend in their most vulnerable moments is a quiet honor, and I always offer steadiness, comfort, and calm attention. My shelter team often turned to me for these situations because of the way I understood each friend’s needs and the gentle presence I brought to difficult moments. Those experiences taught me how meaningful it is to provide warmth and reassurance when a friend needs it most, and they continue to shape the way I care for every pet I meet. In addition to hands on care, I also worked in customer experience at the shelter, helping match our furry friends with the right adopters. I learned how important it is to understand each friend’s personality, needs, and comfort level so I could communicate clearly and honestly with potential adopters. I spent time getting to know our friends, explaining their needs, and helping families understand what would make the best fit. Guiding adopters through those decisions taught me how to advocate for each friend with clarity, kindness, and confidence. Every furry friend is welcomed with respect, understanding, and genuine care. Whether a pet arrives full of energy, feeling uncertain, or simply looking for a reliable presence, I adjust to their pace and their comfort level. My goal is always to meet each friend exactly where they are and provide care that fits their age, personality, medical needs, and emotional state. I recently made the difficult but exciting decision to pause my career and stay home with my little one. During this chapter of life, I am also pursuing my education to become a Certified Veterinary Technician, allowing me to combine my love for animals with continued learning and professional growth. As a result, my schedule remains flexible and open, giving me the opportunity to accommodate a variety of pet care needs. If you have specific scheduling requests, I am always happy to discuss options and find a solution that works well for both of us! I believe pets are happiest when they can stay in the comfort of their own home, and my goal is to make your time away as stress free as possible for both you and your pet. I treat every animal with the same patience, kindness, and attention I would want for my own, taking the time to learn their routines, preferences, and unique personalities.I'm a big believer in clear communication and appreciate detailed instructions. The more I know, the better I can provide consistent care and make sure everything is done exactly the way you would do it yourself. I am always happy to double check details, ask thoughtful questions, and go the extra mile to prevent misunderstandings.During each visit, I will care for your home with the same respect and consideration I would my own, keeping everything clean, secure, and just as you left it. You'll receive plenty of updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, loved, and in good hands. Whether your pet wants playtime, cuddles, enrichment, exercise, or simply a calm and comforting presence, I'm committed to providing care that is tailored to their needs.

About: I have had the pleasure of caring for dogs of various breeds and sizes, providing attentive and loving care while their owners were away. My responsibilities have included feeding, administering medications (if required), walking, playing, and ensuring the dogs' overall well-being. I have a strong understanding of canine behavior, ensuring that each dog feels comfortable and safe in my care. I also make it a priority to follow any specific instructions from the owner, such as dietary needs or special routines. Through my dog sitting experience, I have developed excellent communication skills with both pets and owners, ensuring a positive experience for all involved. I’m currently working full time Monday-Thursday/Friday. My work hours are typically from 6AM until 3:30/4 PM. I can easily care for dogs after work, as well as before if an overnight is requested. I have 2 Golden retrievers myself, so I am used to playing fetch for hours as long as nice walks at the end of the day.

About: As a professional pet and senior sitter, I possess a unique set of skills and qualities that set me apart from other sitters in the industry. While many sitters may have experience with basic pet care, I have specialized training in puppy training, senior care, and administering medication. These skills, along with my compassionate nature and attention to detail, make me an exceptional caregiver for both animals and elderly individuals. One of the key aspects that sets me apart from other sitters is my extensive experience in training puppies. I have completed a professional puppy training course and have worked with numerous puppies to help them develop good behavior and socialization skills. This training allows me to provide valuable guidance to new pet owners and help them raise well-behaved and well-adjusted dogs. I understand the unique challenges and needs of young dogs, and I am dedicated to providing the necessary care and support to help them thrive. In addition to my expertise in puppy training, I also have a passion for senior care. I have undergone specialized training in providing care for elderly individuals, including those with physical or cognitive limitations. I understand the importance of patience, empathy, and respect when working with seniors, and I am committed to providing them with the highest quality of care. Whether it's assisting with daily tasks, providing companionship, or administering medication, I am equipped to meet the unique needs of elderly individuals and ensure their well-being and comfort. Furthermore, my ability to administer medication sets me apart from other sitters. I am trained in safely and accurately administering medication to pets and seniors, ensuring that they receive the necessary treatment and dosage. This skill allows me to provide valuable support to pet owners and family members who may have concerns about administering medication to their loved ones. Beyond these specialized skills, my compassionate nature and dedication to providing exceptional care make me a standout sitter. I prioritize building trusting relationships with both pets and seniors, and I am committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment for them. I understand the importance of clear communication with pet owners and family members, and I am always transparent and responsive in my interactions. In conclusion, my unique combination of specialized skills, including puppy training, senior care, and medication administration, sets me apart from other sitters. With a compassionate and detail-oriented approach, I strive to provide exceptional care and support to both animals and elderly individuals. I am committed to meeting their individual needs and ensuring their well-being and comfort, making me a standout choice for pet and senior sitting services. Pet care, including feeding, exercise, playtime, and grooming, should be integrated into your daily and weekly routine to ensure your pet's well-being and happiness. Establishing a consistent schedule provides predictability and security for your pet, reducing stress and promoting healthy habits. Start the day with feeding, followed by a walk or playtime to expend energy and stimulate your pet. Incorporate short breaks for feeding, playtime, or a quick walk, especially if working from home. Dedicate time for a longer walk, play session, or quiet time for bonding and relaxation. Schedule daily or weekly grooming sessions, depending on your pet's breed and coat type. Maintain a regular feeding schedule to help regulate your pet's digestion and prevent accidents. Bathe your pet every few weeks or as needed. Brush your pet's teeth regularly. Incorporate playtime with toys and games to provide mental and physical stimulation. I Establish a consistent daily routine for feeding, exercise, and playtime. About: I’m one of the only people that could take care of my one friends dog because it was very mean. I stay at peoples house to watch their pets or just stop in throughout the day. I currently work full time, I go before work and then after work. If I’m not staying the night I go again before bed time. If I’m staying I go after work and then either get dinner or make dinner then stay for the night. When I’m taking care of others pets I do as if they are my own. I make sure they are happy, healthy, eating, drinking and doing their business. If something seems off I will inform the client to make sure it is normal for them. I want the clients to feel comfortable and sure their pets are being cared for while they are away.

About: Dogs are my absolute passion. I grew up in New York and later moved to Puerto Rico, where I actually ran my own neighborhood animal rescue from ages 8 to 11. Since moving to North Carolina and South Carolina, I have continued working with non-profits and animal rescues. I have hands-on experience with dogs of every size, from tiny puppies to gentle giants, and I want to make sure every pet feels happy, safe, and loved. I have a highly flexible schedule that allows me to put your pet first. I am home throughout the day to provide frequent potty breaks, fresh water, and plenty of attention. Your dog will never be left alone for long periods. I am always available for structured playtime, and I customize my daily routine to match whatever schedule your pup is used to at home. We live in a clean, smoke-free apartment with my sweet, small Shih Tzu who loves making new friends! Because my young brother lives with us, safety is our top priority. My mom and I work as a team to closely supervise all pet interactions at all times. Your pet is welcome on our furniture and bed, and we take regular leashed walks around the neighborhood for plenty of exercise.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of October 2026, there are 435 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Acker. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
