About: I have had the pleasure of caring for dogs of various breeds and sizes, providing attentive and loving care while their owners were away. My responsibilities have included feeding, administering medications (if required), walking, playing, and ensuring the dogs' overall well-being. I have a strong understanding of canine behavior, ensuring that each dog feels comfortable and safe in my care. I also make it a priority to follow any specific instructions from the owner, such as dietary needs or special routines. Through my dog sitting experience, I have developed excellent communication skills with both pets and owners, ensuring a positive experience for all involved. I’m currently working full time Monday-Thursday/Friday. My work hours are typically from 6AM until 3:30/4 PM. I can easily care for dogs after work, as well as before if an overnight is requested. I have 2 Golden retrievers myself, so I am used to playing fetch for hours as long as nice walks at the end of the day.

Natalie was fantastic and a great caretaker of our cat. She did the basics of food, water & snacks but also spent time with Rosie holding her and petting her. I think it really helped Rosie that Natalie came twice a day to be with her. She sent us pictures regularly and we knew Rosie was doing well. We highly recommend Natalie and we’ll be contacting her again when we go away.

About: I have cared for my family's pets for over 30 years, I love meeting new animals and getting to know their personality! I have experience at every stage of a pet's life, from puppies and kittens to elder pets. I have experience administering mediation, caring to your pet's specific needs, assisting disabled pets, training puppies and crate training. I am dedicated to being a caring and thoughtful pet-sitter. I love animals and can't wait to meet your special friend! I currently have 1 dog and 2 cats. My dog, Zoey, is a 2-year-old puppy that I got at 12 weeks old, so my puppy training skills are fresh! I also have 2 cats, Archie and Theo, who are brother cats from the same litter. I've had them since they were kittens. Zoey grew up with the cats, so she is well trained with cats and she is very well behaved. Zoey and the cats get along with other animals very well. They are sweet, loving pets that play together and nap side-by-side. I work from home full time, so I am always at the house. I am very flexible to whatever your pet's routine is. Whatever they need, I can incorporate it into my day. At booking, I will provide a questionnaire and you can advise me of any needs or requests for your pet's routine, and I will make their routine a part of mine! In my home, I provide pets with several comfortable areas for them to lounge and sleep in, with bedding and blankets. I also provide several toys and chew toys that are usually left out for them to play with (unless requested not to). Meals are kept on schedule and any mediation or vitamins are administered on-time. Water is always filtered and clean, changed daily (or use a continuous running system). Safety is my top priority. I want to ensure that your pet has a safe and relaxing time during their stay, I will provide a separate room for your animal if needed or requested, with their own bedding and play-area. I have several rooms in the house that are not used, so I keep this space reserved for your pets. I will collect your vet information at booking and take your pet to their vet if necessary; I also am a member of the local Dauphin County Animal Hospital, which I can use if needed for emergencies. I will maintain communication with you and check-in daily with photos; I am also open to take any inquiries, if you would like to check-in on your pets.

About: I've had many dogs my whole life. I love playing with them and watching their personalities come out. I've also taken care of my neighbor's dog when she was on vacation. I am working in a reptile building at a zoo, and I also attend college for animal studies, where I work with many different animals. When I'm at the client's house, I will have the dogs on a leash when going outside unless they have a fenced-in yard and they say I can have them off of it. I can also crate the dogs if need be.

About: As a professional pet and senior sitter, I possess a unique set of skills and qualities that set me apart from other sitters in the industry. While many sitters may have experience with basic pet care, I have specialized training in puppy training, senior care, and administering medication. These skills, along with my compassionate nature and attention to detail, make me an exceptional caregiver for both animals and elderly individuals. One of the key aspects that sets me apart from other sitters is my extensive experience in training puppies. I have completed a professional puppy training course and have worked with numerous puppies to help them develop good behavior and socialization skills. This training allows me to provide valuable guidance to new pet owners and help them raise well-behaved and well-adjusted dogs. I understand the unique challenges and needs of young dogs, and I am dedicated to providing the necessary care and support to help them thrive. In addition to my expertise in puppy training, I also have a passion for senior care. I have undergone specialized training in providing care for elderly individuals, including those with physical or cognitive limitations. I understand the importance of patience, empathy, and respect when working with seniors, and I am committed to providing them with the highest quality of care. Whether it's assisting with daily tasks, providing companionship, or administering medication, I am equipped to meet the unique needs of elderly individuals and ensure their well-being and comfort. Furthermore, my ability to administer medication sets me apart from other sitters. I am trained in safely and accurately administering medication to pets and seniors, ensuring that they receive the necessary treatment and dosage. This skill allows me to provide valuable support to pet owners and family members who may have concerns about administering medication to their loved ones. Beyond these specialized skills, my compassionate nature and dedication to providing exceptional care make me a standout sitter. I prioritize building trusting relationships with both pets and seniors, and I am committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment for them. I understand the importance of clear communication with pet owners and family members, and I am always transparent and responsive in my interactions. In conclusion, my unique combination of specialized skills, including puppy training, senior care, and medication administration, sets me apart from other sitters. With a compassionate and detail-oriented approach, I strive to provide exceptional care and support to both animals and elderly individuals. I am committed to meeting their individual needs and ensuring their well-being and comfort, making me a standout choice for pet and senior sitting services. Pet care, including feeding, exercise, playtime, and grooming, should be integrated into your daily and weekly routine to ensure your pet's well-being and happiness. Establishing a consistent schedule provides predictability and security for your pet, reducing stress and promoting healthy habits. Start the day with feeding, followed by a walk or playtime to expend energy and stimulate your pet. Incorporate short breaks for feeding, playtime, or a quick walk, especially if working from home. Dedicate time for a longer walk, play session, or quiet time for bonding and relaxation. Schedule daily or weekly grooming sessions, depending on your pet's breed and coat type. Maintain a regular feeding schedule to help regulate your pet's digestion and prevent accidents. Bathe your pet every few weeks or as needed. Brush your pet's teeth regularly. Incorporate playtime with toys and games to provide mental and physical stimulation. I Establish a consistent daily routine for feeding, exercise, and playtime. About: I’ve had considerable experience with cats and dogs — over 50 years of being around them — and I now share my home with three cats. I’m now starting to offer pet care as a way to earn money, and I’ll come to your place for drop-in visits, overnight stays, and house sitting. I’m also open to caring for other pets. I’m a calm, patient person, and animals really respond to that energy. When I arrive, I make enough noise so pets aren’t startled, then I spend a minute talking with them and reading how they’re feeling before feeding, litter breaks, potty breaks, or play — whatever they need at that moment. I’m comfortable giving shy pets the time they need to warm up. I don’t have much experience with special needs care, but I’m happy to handle meds or anxiety with a steady, reassuring approach. If a dog barks, I’ll soothe them with a calm voice; if they pull on the leash, I’ll pause until they settle; if a pet’s shy, I’ll let them come to me. My schedule is flexible and I can work around your dates, including weekends and holidays. People often tell me they appreciate my calm, thoughtful approach — it helps my pets feel safe and at ease. I’d love to meet your cat or dog! IMPORTANT- I am flexible. 😊 I will do my best to accommodate reasonable requests. We will discuss details when I come to meet your pet(s). My schedule is flexible since I’m retired. I can work around your schedule, or adjust my own to fit what your pet needs. I do have a couple evening meetings each month, and I’m busy on Sunday mornings. Anna was a wonderful gift to caring for my senior dog. She came over on an additional day, just to learn about all of the complexities involved. She corresponded well with me while I was on the other side of the country. It helped keep my anxiety over my beloved pet way down! Anna is professional and detail oriented, and I would gladly hire her again.

About: I’ve been a dog owner my entire life and have had experience owning other pets such as geckos, cats, and snakes. I’ve been a pet sitter for a little over two years. My true passion for pet sitting comes from my desire to be accompanied by them, dogs specifically. I work with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and personalities. Dogs of all backgrounds tend to gravitate towards me and I have never had any negative interactions. While studying for my undergrad, I was actually in charge of all the live animal specimens present on the University grounds. Feeding, exercise, and handling/care were done daily, which can explain my comfortability and familiarity with pet care. I currently am home as I finish my masters degree online so my daily schedule is fairly free. I workout and do part-time contract work when I am not doing schoolwork. I’m extremely flexible and will be willing to meet your needs as best as possible. Simply put, I treat the pets like they are my own. I ensure they are met with sufficient attention, exercise, nutrition, and safety while under my supervision. Minimizing stress is my biggest concern (my dog has separation anxiety so I know how it can be). I’ve found it helpful in the past to use my own dog as a bridge between myself and the client’s pet, as his presence tends to build confidence and reassurance.

Kayla noticed that one of my cats was struggling to finish their food during her visits, which resulted in my other cat trying to eat it. Her response to this dilemma was truly above and beyond: Kayla would hide the leftover food and make a second trip over later in the day (even though only one daily visit was requested) to make sure my cat ate the remaining food and didn't go hungry!

About: Hello! I have always had dogs in my home since I was born, and I have been helping to take care of them for years. We currently have 3 happy dogs in the home, who are all very friendly! I am very accustomed to giving pills or special food on a schedule along with frequent potty breaks. I would love to take care of your dog in your home, following any requirements necessary to make them be comfortable. I am able to make a few stop ins at your home during the day, or I can stay at your home with your dog to keep them company and be there for any needs. I love to play with the dogs and allow them to feel like a part of the family! I grew up owning horses and have been around livestock my entire life. The last three summers I worked on ranches out west where I cared for both horses and cattle. I am also able to provide my services to farm sit. I work remotely and have a very flexible schedule. This allows me to be able to stay in your home with your furry friend and provide the best care possible. I offer pet sitting in your home, as well as drop in visits, and dog walking. When I am staying in your home with your dog, I can take care of watering plants, bringing in mail, taking out trash, etc.

About: I have many years of experience with dogs, cats, and horses. Having grown up on a farm, I’ve taken care of animals from all phases of life. Most recently, I was living in Alaska right outside of Denali National Park. I volunteered in the DNP kennel and have experience with very active pups. Now that I’m back in PA, it’s just me, my two kitties, and sweet pup Remy! I work remotely and am flexible schedule wise, but I’m online from 9-5. As long as there’s good Wi-Fi, I’m there! I can do drop-ins or overnights in your home. I am dependable and value your pets safety. I have experience with “escape artists” as well as pets that have anxiety or aggression towards others. About: Hello, I’m Destiny! 🐾 Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Wildlife Biology, which has deepened my understanding of animal behavior, welfare, and the importance of providing compassionate, attentive care to every animal I meet. I grew up around animals and have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities. Whether it’s an energetic puppy who loves adventure, a senior dog who needs extra patience, or a pet who simply enjoys a consistent routine and lots of affection, I take the time to understand their individual needs and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. As both an educator and animal lover, I bring patience, reliability, and strong attention to detail to every pet I care for. I understand that every animal is unique, and I pride myself on creating a safe, positive environment where pets can feel relaxed and loved while their owners are away. When your pet is with me, they will receive plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and affection. I enjoy spending time outdoors, making walks and adventures fun and engaging, while also respecting the routines and comfort levels that help pets feel at home. ❤️ I know how important trust is when choosing someone to care for your pet. That’s why I provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident knowing your furry family member is happy, safe, and receiving the same level of care I would give my own. My goal is simple: to make your time away stress free while ensuring your pet feels loved, comfortable, and cared for every step of the way. I look forward to meeting you and your best friend! 🐶🐱 Availability: ✨ 🌅🍃🦋 I’m available for morning walks and drop-ins at anytime and am willing to stay overnight, as well as evenings. Weekends are fully open and flexible for walks, playtime, or overnight care! I believe every pet deserves to feel safe, loved, and deeply cared for like they’re in their own little sanctuary. I approach each animal with patience and gentleness, allowing them to build trust at their own pace and always honoring their unique personality. I create a calm, nurturing space where they can relax, play, and be themselves, keeping their routines consistent so everything feels familiar and comforting. From cozy rest spots and mindful walks to soft words and loving attention.

FAQs for Drop-In Visits - Newport

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 389 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Newport. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Newport. On Rover:

  • 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
