About: Hi, there! My name is Kai. I’ve been doing Rover for a since 2019 and absolutely love it. I’ve been dog sitting in LA since May 2021, but I was a dog sitter in Seattle and Chicago before that. I adore dogs of all sizes, breeds, backgrounds, and ages. I’ve honestly never met a dog I didn’t like. My experience includes boarding, walks, house-sitting, puppies, and administering medicine to dogs who are anxious or just of old age. Rescue animals have a special place in my heart, because when I was in middle school, my family adopted a sweet, anxiety-ridden terrier. She had not just mental trauma, but physical trauma, and coming from a similar background, we became inseparable. When I moved out of the house, I was lucky enough to take her with me, caring for her through the end of her life, as she lost the ability to see, walk, and eventually eat. I miss her every day, but I feel so lucky to be able to meet and care for so many other animals! My boyfriend and I have a Rottweiler at home, which is why I do housesitting and not boarding. Plus, it’s nice for your pet to be in an environment they’re familiar with and comfortable in. I work from home, so my schedule is flexible. I am able to provide morning and evening walks, but can only do short potty breaks 8-5 on weekdays. I occasionally pick up evening shifts on the weekends (4 hours long) but if you book ahead of time I will make sure to keep my schedule free to prioritize your pup! If this is your first time booking with me, let’s set up a quick meet & greet (15 minutes tops) so you can get to know me, ask questions, show me around, and introduce me to your dog(s).

We have hawks in the neighborhood, and she put together an outside enclosure that she needs to take down every time again for her two bunnies that protects them from any attacks. She’s great at clipping their nails, which is an art in itself, and is great at supporting our elderly neighbor with the care of her pet. She is an incredibly competent and compassionate human being.
