“Walter and his family continue to take amazing care of our puppy. When leaving today, she whimpered - that’s a sign of a happy girl! We are so happy to have found this loving family. Thank you again for all that you do to make Harper feel right at home. We look forward to working with you again soon!”

“Yogi enjoyed his stay. I like that there are options. Dogs can stay in the house. But if they are more comfortable outside, she has a deck with access to a fenced in grass area. Good communication. No problems.”

“Heather is absolutely amazing! We’ve never left one of our dogs with anyone outside of family and it was so nice to see they had a blast and made themselves feel right at home. She is flexible, quick response time and has plenty of room for our dogs to run and play, also meeting some new friends with their dogs. We will keep our dogs going to Heather anytime we leave town and she is available.”

“Rosie just loves staying with Allison so I took my grumpy old man Tumbles too. He had a great time and I didnt worry one bit while they stayed over night with her. Book with her, you won't regret it@”

“Barbara did a wonderful job caring for our dog. She provided daily photo updates and consistent communication, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. Our dog was clearly well cared for and happy. I would absolutely book Barbara again and highly recommend her.”

About: I cared for my family dog for 12 years until she passed, as well as cared for my family and friends furry animals over the years. I’m currently working full time. During the week, I can be available before 8:00am, afternoons, and after 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Weekend schedule is flexible. I’ll make sure they are safe at all times, and well taken care of. Take them on walks, feed them if needed, and play of course!

About: Hi there, my name is Kristina and I’ve just recently moved to the Winchester area! Caring for animals has always been one of the greatest joys in my life. With years of experience, looking after pets of all ages, personalities and needs I’ve built a reputation for being reliable, attentive and genuinely invested in each animals wellbeing. One of the biggest advantages of working with me is that I work from home full-time, this means that your pets will never be left unattended and I am able to give them consistent attention to ensure they feel safe and comfortable throughout the day. When your pet is with me, they’re treated like family whether it’s daily walks, playtime medication reminders or just offering affection and companionship, I make sure every animal feels loved and understood. I look forward to giving your pets the dependable, worry free care they deserve. I currently work from home Monday through Friday. I have the ability to visit your home and ensure your pets are doing well and to provide them any enrichment they may need whether it be walks or play. I currently live in townhouse with my husband and our dog, named Gorgi (Gorgonzola), we go on frequent walks in the morning afternoon and evening. We keep a clean home and have a basement that lets out into a small backyard. I have one X-Large kennel if your pup prefers to sleep in one as well as a puppy pad corner for those late night bathroom breaks. I would be happy to provide a tour our home upon request.
“Lauren went above and beyond for us while we went on vacation. She cared for our two cats. Gave them lots of love and attention as well as transported them to and from our home safely. She will be our first choice if we need care again and I highly recommend her to anyone who needs care for their pets. :) thank you again, Lauren!”

“Sarah was wonderful with Murphy and Mazi. She kept me updated with pictures, handled their medications carefully, and clearly treated them like part of the family. I really appreciated how flexible and accommodating she was with my schedule, including extending their stay by an extra day when my plans changed. I would absolutely trust Sarah with them again.”

“This was Dexter's second stay with Linda. As soon as we got to the house he ran into the backyard and never looked back. It was great knowing that Dexter was in a loving home and had the opportunity to play with lots of dogs while we were away. Thanks Linda!”

“Chantal was great to help us out when options where running out to watch Waylon. Chantal sent us pictures of Waylon daily having a good time with her dog and a kids pool. During our time out of state we had no stress/concerns on Waylon's care. We will definitely ask Chantal to care for Waylon in the future. 5 stars for Chantal. Jason & Paula”

“Maki and Joel are exceptionally kind Rover hosts! They were patient with my anxious dog and communicated frequently with me, including multiple photos. I cannot say enough good things about them!”

“Juliana is hands down THE BEST! She is super knowledgeable about how to best introduce your pup to hers. Her house is a haven for pups, with a nice big fenced yard, plenty of toys, and lots of soft places for naps. Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
99% of sitters in Zeiger can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Zeiger home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Zeiger.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
