“We were so very pleased with Krista’s dedication to our girl, Donna. Getting regular text updates with photos gave us such peace of mind, we were able to enjoy our time away knowing everything was going well back home. We will definitely ask Krista to come back; Donna won’t have it any other way. 😊”

“Cadence has watched my babies twice now, and I am very thankful that I don't have to worry about their well being or her reliability. She follows instructions, which included managing behaviors and administering medications. The dogs always seem relaxed, which says a lot!”

“Makayla took such great care of our pups and our house when we were out of town! She was always very responsive and sent pics throughout her time here. We will definitely use her again; our pups loved her!”

“We left our dogs with Becca for over a week during the holidays - and she was awesome! We got pictures of the dogs everyday and she left the house clean and tidy upon our return. We will absolutely be using Becca again!”

About: I’ve taken care of countless roommates dogs, before getting my own a couple years ago. Before getting my own I did lots of research on training so she could have a happy, healthy, and safe life. I am committed to a dog’s safety and happiness. I am big on positive reinforcement which is how I’ve trained Buttercup. I’ve worked with multiple dogs on leash training, off leash training (minimal), potty training, and other general commands (sit, stay, come, heel, etc.). I have a full-time job and love hanging out with all the doggos in my free time. A couple of my workdays are fairly long, so I am more available later in the week. Pups (6months+) and dogs are allowed everywhere in my house except my personal bed. It is a modest home, with a fenced back yard (dog castle included). My dog, Buttercup, loves other dogs and is eager to play and be friends when they are. She has had interactions with both younger pups as well as much older doggos (up to 11 years old) and all interactions have gone well. While she’s on the medium-large end (70-75lbs) some of her best doggo friends range from significantly smaller (7-12 lbs) to much larger (100+lbs). She interacts well with different sizes.
“Nick is so conscientious and definitely cares about our "high" need pups. He checks in and responds quickly to any message I send, even when I just let him know we're home because I'm pretty sure he cares and likes us too!”

“Kailey took amazing care of my dog, cat, and home while I was away on vacation. She sent daily updates and photos that let me know everything was going well during her week long stay. I highly recommend her.”

“Isabel was great! She stayed overnight with our two pups. Sent pictures and updates and the home (and bed) were left just as we left it. Would love to have her back again any time. Thank you!”

About: Growing up on a farm, I’ve dealt with all kinds of pets. Specifically with dogs, I’ve raised a litter of puppies, trained a bird hunting dog, and trained three dogs for my parents. My hobbies typically involve dogs, and I’ve found myself to be very patient with all dog personality types. I’m great with puppies, senior dogs, and adult dogs. I currently attend Vet School at KSU. My school schedule is typically the same throughout the weekdays, but the hours allow me to spend a lot of time with your pets in the mornings and evenings. I sometimes get done in the early afternoons as well! I’m available everyday of the week in the later part of the days, and most weekends! I would love to be able to share my great amount of down time with your furry friends! I like to follow the instructions of the client when asked to care for their pet. If pets are allowed to roam free while alone, I always ensure there are no potential hazards for them to get into, and any rooms that are off limits have doors closed. Personally, I offer multiple opportunities to go outside for bathroom breaks and to play throughout the day. I use excitement and calmness when interacting with the pet to keep them engaged. When the pet makes it clear they want attention or to play, I give it to them and do not pick a phone/computer over them. The dogs I grew up with, were on a strict time feeding schedule, so I understand the importance of feeding other pets on their schedule as well.
About: Since I was 20 years old, family neighbors, and friends have relied on me to walk, feed, water, and pet sit their dogs. I’ve taken care of dogs that are older and require meds as well as younger dogs. I don’t have a dog of my own yet but hopefully Rover will get me one step closer and be the final push I need! I am currently a full time student with a part time job but have Wednesday’s and Friday’s off and usually work mornings anyway. I will try my hardest to make most times for walks or drop in visits work but if I can’t I will let you know ASAP! I can feed and water your dogs, keep up with a possibly complicated night time routine, and take them out whenever they need to when I’m with them. I’m also able to take them to specific places if needed to go on walks, whether that be a fenced in park, a dog specific park, or just around your neighborhood!
About: I will work your pets mind and body offering the all around best possible care. I love training and will uphold consistent training while they are in my care. I have full time availability. I am open to on going long term set schedules but I’m flexible and am willing to work with you on whatever your needs are. I have a nice fenced yard and I will keep your pet well cared for in my home or in your home. I am very dedicated to offering the best possible care for your needs.
About: What sets me apart from other dog sitters is the level of personalized care and attention I provide. I treat every dog like they’re my own—learning their routines, quirks, and comfort needs. I have experience with dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies who need training reinforcement to senior dogs who require patience, medication schedules, and gentle handling. I'm skilled in basic obedience training, can administer oral and topical medications, and I’m confident managing dogs with anxiety or special dietary needs. Whether your dog loves playtime, quiet cuddles, or long walks, I tailor my care to keep them happy, safe, and loved while you're away. I am currently a full time k-state student, but only have classes half of the day. I can always work around my schedule to fit your pet’s needs! I am able to stay overnight with them as well and give them the best care that they deserve! I am always able to go over every 2-4 hours to let them out or take them on walks! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their usual routine as closely as possible to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I make sure they’re fed on time, get plenty of play and exercise, and receive lots of attention and affection. I also provide any special care they need, such as administering medication or following specific training techniques. I keep the home tidy, send regular photo updates, and treat the space with the same respect I give my own.

“We have a special needs pup that needs a lot of care, and she had no problem taking on the chaos! We did a meet and greet, she was so friendly! During the stay, she was so good about checking in as well as sending multiple photos, which I loved. If she wasn’t sure about something she asked, and she followed all of our directions perfectly! My pups loved her and we will definitely be using her again!”

“Presley was incredibly communicative and professional throughout the entire booking process and was always quick to answer any questions we had. This was our first time using in-home care for Cooper, and she made us feel completely comfortable and confident leaving him in her care while we were away. She took such wonderful care of him, every photo update she sent had him literally smiling! It was clear he was happy, relaxed, and well loved the whole time. We will absolutely be re-booking with Presley and highly recommend her to all of our friends and family looking for someone to care for their fur babies!”

About: As a pet parent myself, I know how scary it can be when searching for someone to care for your babies! I believe in creating a calm and caring environment when I am present with others pets and care for them as if they are my own! I have been raised around cats & dogs of all different personalities my whole life! I work part time 8am-12pm on Monday-Friday and I am able to care before work and anytime after! Weekends I am usually free all weekend! I like to meet clients and their pets prior to my booked service so I can create a calm environment with my arrival. When I am providing my services I adjust my approach depending on how things went at the introduction, some animals need higher energy while others need a calm entrance.

About: I’m Mark. I live in Manhattan with my wife, dog, and 16 year-old cat. I’ve had Dalmatians (high energy, stubborn) since I was a kid. I have experience with companion dogs, working dogs, elderly dogs, and have even helped my wife train our current pup (Pepper) as a registered therapy dog. I’ll make sure to take good care of your four-legged friends whether it’s on walks, drop-ins, or house sitting if needed! I recently left the Army and am figuring out what I want to do next. This means I’m free in the mornings and afternoons (9-3) weekdays and weekends for walks and drop-ins. I can accommodate house sitting on weekends with some advance notice. I take my own dog on hour-long walks most days, and she gets plenty of extra exercise playing in my fenced backyard and helping me dig holes in my garden. I understand all pets may not be up for that much activity and can adjust based on your needs!
“Emma has by far been the best rover we have used since living here and would highly recommend her for your pets! She took great care of our two dogs who don’t like to make anything easy. We will definitely be using her again!”

About: I grew up around animals and adore my lifelong dog! I really love interacting with others’ pets as my current apartment doesn’t allow them. I’m a new mom who is desperate for some extra income. I am available most afternoons after 4 PM. In a few months I will be available in the mornings as well as I will be making an employment transition I am very loving and gentle towards animals. I don’t believe in pulling and tugging in any sort of rough fashion on leashes. I am very patient
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every age size and breed since I was 20. I grew up around dogs and throughly enjoy and care for each and everyone of them like they are my own family! As they are yours and deserve to be treated with as much respect and care when you’re outside the home! I do have my own pup who is very friendly and loves to play we come as a pair who will love to play with your animals! I work full time and do pet sitting/ walking part time! I’m willing to do drop in visits or staying in home to help the dog/cat acclimate to you being gone! Staying in home I will play with the animal dog or cat and take them outside for potty breaks (dog) sand will clean the litter box daily (cat). I understand each animal has their on personality so I would prefer to meet the animal prior to sitting so that we may get used to each other! I’ve watched and cared for many pets in the manhattan junction city area for years and would love to give your pet the love and care needed when you’re away!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 122 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Zeandale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Zeandale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Zeandale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Zeandale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
