“Ellie G. is a great communicator with photo updates. The daycare day went well and Annie O was introduced to Ellie’s chickens and I’m sure she wanted to get a little closer but Ellie was great keeping Annie away from them. Annie also met Ellie’s dog and it appears that they both made a new friend. The day was a success.”

About: And husband and I both have taken care of dogs since we were both teenagers. We love offering our dog, Koda, dogs to play with! I stay home so your dog will be getting lots of attention and will be well taken of. Just let us know their exact needs and schedule so we can accommodate! I stay home so I have plenty of time to take your pup on walks and give them plenty of attention and cuddles! I offer letting dogs out every 2 hours if needed! We have a dog park right by our building that I take all the dogs to so they can get their energy out and plenty of sidewalks for daily walks! Dogs can roam free in my home! Their comfort is important to me as well.

“Samantha was excellent! We had a last-minute need for doggy daycare with only about two hours’ notice, and she was incredibly accommodating and helpful. She took great care of both of our dogs, Orion and Luna. Orion can be anxious in new situations, so it was especially nice to see that he seemed comfortable and relaxed with her. Both dogs came home happy, which says a lot! We really appreciated her flexibility and the great care she gave them. We would definitely book with her again!”

About: Hi! We’re Colorado and Utah natives who ended up in Charleston, SC, for PA school before my husband’s job in orthopedics brought us to Virginia. We’ve fallen in love with this area and with raising our daughter here! Our 11-year-old beagle, Julia, is the heart of our family. She was our first baby, and I remember someone once telling me that when you have a child, you won’t love your dog as much anymore. I couldn’t disagree more! Julia is everything to us, and our daughter calls her “sister.” ❤️ I grew up with a dog who was my whole world, and I come from a family of dog lovers (my mom has THREE beagles!). When Julia was a puppy, we used Rover in Utah to meet other dogs and take them hiking with us. We’ve always loved having dogs in our lives, and we’re excited to welcome some new furry friends into our home here! You’ll often find us walking or scootering around CW with Julia, and if you hear a beagle chasing squirrels, there’s a good chance it’s us! We also have a fenced yard for sniffing, exploring, and I also work from home, so I’m around most of the day to keep your pup company and give them plenty of attention, playtime, and snuggles! I also work from home, so I’m around most of the day to keep your pup company and give them plenty of attention, playtime, and snuggles! We’re not looking to do this full-time or host lots of dogs at once. I’d love for our daughter to learn a little about responsibility and earning money while saving up for a special trip. We’d also love to find a few dogs who become regular visitors! We know how special it is to find a Rover sitter you really trust. We were lucky enough to find someone we loved for Julia, and we’d plan trips around her availability whenever we could. I’d love to be that person for another family — someone their dog knows and gets excited to stay with, and someone they feel comfortable reaching out to whenever they need a hand. We take one guest dog at a time, although we'd consider a pair of siblings if they’re a good fit. We’re thoughtful about size, breed, and temperament because Julia’s comfort and our daughter’s safety come first. Our daughter loves dogs and is gentle and sweet with them. Julia’s best friend is a Goldendoodle, so we have a soft spot for those curly-haired cuties, too! We especially love sweet, easygoing older dogs, and we’re happy to consider puppies as long as they’re potty-trained. We do require a meet-and-greet before booking to make sure everyone gets along and feels comfortable. We know how hard it can be to leave your dog with someone else. We’ve had a bad pet-care experience ourselves, and it really crushed us. It made us realize how important it is to find someone you genuinely trust with your fur baby. We want you to feel good about where your dog is staying and know they’re being treated like one of our own. Julia has Cushing’s disease and takes medication every night, so we understand the importance of keeping up with routines and giving medications as directed. My husband is a physician assistant, and we’re comfortable administering routine medications, too. Most of all, we want your pup to feel at home here, whether that means playing in the yard, going for walks, or curling up for some snuggles. We’re happy to send photos and updates while you’re away because we know how nice it is to see your dog happy and settled. We can’t wait to meet you and your furry family member! 🐶

After moving from New Jersey to here in Virginia I worked at care a lot pet supplies in the boarding and daycare section for 2 years and then ended working at a vet office in the kennel. About: I've had a multitude of pets and have been around animals my whole life and have always loved them. I have had puppies that grow up, birds, rabbits, fish, and a lizard. I will be working part-time, meaning I will be available majority of the day. I live on campus but have a room in the apartment-style suite and plenty of outdoor space. I have had dogs who weren't crate-trained, so I am perfectly comfortable with ones who aren't. I am comfortable with care in the client's home. I would just like a few introductions beforehand.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of October 2026, there are 262 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Zanoni. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Zanoni commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

As of October 2026, there are 262 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across the region of VA. Enter your address or desired location to see which available sitters are closest to you.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
