“This was our second time having Emily and Mari watch our pup Sunny while we flew to visit family, and all went well! It's never easy to leave our pup, but having trustworthy and reliable care for our home and baby is everything and allows us to enjoy our trip without worry. Mari leaves very detailed feedback on how their day is going when we check in, and the photos we were sent of Sunny were so lovely to see to put our minds at ease. When we arrived home, the house was cleaner than we left it, and Sunny was happy and cozy, even with relaxing music on YouTube! It's those little things we so appreciate. You can count on Mari and Emily to do their very best to keep your fur baby happy and relaxed while you are away!”

About: I’ve taken care of both dogs and cats for as long as I remember. Currently I have one cat and three dogs, raising my youngest pup since she was 4 months old. I’ve been able to train her for sit, lay down, and leave it commands, kennel training, and potty training. One of my older dogs, Cookie, is blind and I help him take potty breaks and navigate our home. I even have experience working at a doggy daycare/boarding facility, along with basic grooming which includes bathing, trimming nails, and blow drying. I look forward to hopefully meeting you and your furry friends! My schedule is fairly open as I currently stay at home while my partner works full time. I am more than happy to add taking care of your four legged pals alongside my own! Making sure to stick to their regular routine to decrease stress for both them and you as their pet parent. I will be more than happy to do what is needed to keep them comfortable and happy.

About: I bring more than just walks and cuddles! With experience in vet school, grooming, and training, I’m comfortable caring for puppies, seniors, and shy or anxious pets. I’m attentive, patient, and always make sure your pet feels safe and loved 🐶🐱 Pet care is part of my everyday life! I care for 3 guinea pigs, a chameleon, 5 cats, a dog, and multiple fish tanks daily, so animals are built into my routine from morning to night. I also work at a pet store where I train dogs and care for a variety of animals, so being around pets isn’t something I squeeze in — it’s what my life revolves around 🐶🐱🐠 I provide personalized care in my client’s home by sticking to each pet’s routine. I prioritize safe handling, walks, feeding, enrichment, potty breaks, and medications, while keeping pets comfortable and relaxed in their familiar space. I also send regular updates and photos 🐶🐱
“Lacey is a caring wonderful person. We came back to two labs who were loved, watched over and spoiled as much as we spoil them. I cannot say enough positive things about this girl! If you are picky about who watches your pets and house sits. This is the girl you want she is excellent ! Thanks Rover for helping us find Lacey we will definitely ask for her again!”

“Tyler babysat my dog, Mae, and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. Mae is an anxious Pittie, so leaving her with someone new can be stressful, but Tyler immediately put both of us at ease. He was attentive, patient, and caring with her, and he kept me updated with photos and messages throughout the evening. What impressed me most was the sense of trust and security I felt knowing Mae was in his care and in my home. When I returned, Mae was happy, relaxed, and clearly well looked after. I would absolutely recommend Tyler to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and trustworthy pet sitter. Thank you, Tyler, for taking such great care of my girl! 🐾❤️”
“Erin was fantastic, treated Hank like family, and always kept me in the know on her daily time taking care of him. I would absolutely recommend her as a dog sitter and walker for anyone looking for a great person to take care of their pet”

I’m currently working part-time and I’m able to schedule around certain times as needed. In the fall I start college again with plenty of break times! I prefer to stay where the animals are used to. “Isabella was so wonderful!! She was easy to work with, great communication, sent updates & pics and took such great care of my pup while I was out of town. She was so considerate of our home & we look forward to having her back!”

“Brianna stepped in as an emergency sitter for our dogs while we were on vacation. She didn’t hesitate to come to their rescue last minute. Our dogs (or us) never had the opportunity to meet her beforehand and we came home to happy dogs! I can’t express my gratitude enough and the fact she was able to give me the peace of mind that I needed.”

“Madison was great with our dogs! She communicated often with updates and sent lots of photos and videos. My boys seemed to have a great time with her which allowed me to relax and enjoy our vacation. Will absolutely book with her again in the future!”
About: Since before I could speak I loved animals; growing up in rural Ohio on a pig farm we always had dogs, cats, horses, cows, goats and many reptiles and small mammals running around. I've always had a strong love for caring for animals and especially dogs because I love their endless happiness for the world around them. I'm very comfortable around any size and any breed of dog or cat, or to take care of any other pet need you might have! Aside from growing up around more animals than I can count, I used to volunteer at my local animal shelter and I am comfortable with learning any new needs your pet may have. I currently work night shift 4 days a week so I will be available during the daytime for your pet needs! I will be available to walk, do house check ins and feed/water your pets! Although I'm not currently in a position where I can have my own pet or pet sit from where I live, Im very passionate about working with animals and I'm excited to start meeting your babies and helping you give them the best care you can from your home.
“This was Charity's first visit and it was an overnight. I had a LOT of instructions because 1 of my dogs hates one of the other ones, and they need to be separated/rotated, etc. She handled it like a pro! She checked in and and sent pics. I appreciate her professionalism.”

About: I love dogs. I have three at home. I would say I am well mannered and patient as well as attentive to their needs. I’ve had many experiences pet sitting and understand the expectations that are required to care for fur babies. I hope you will consider me! I currently don’t have a full-time job so I’m free anytime and for anything pet parents might need for their fur babies! Please consider me! Having multiple pets in my own home makes cleaning more of a chore so I try to keep everything as clean as possible. My dogs are on an invisible fence and have the whole yard to roam but I still try and play with them as much as I can. I would say I am a cleanly person and would help animals in any way I can!
“My first time using Rover and Lenny did a great job taking care of my dog Rocco. It was so nice to be able to keep him at home in his element opposed to taking him to the kennel. Rocco seemed very happy and content when I returned from my vacation.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Zanesville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Zanesville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Zanesville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
