About: I’ve owned dogs my whole life. As well as a few different sizes and temperaments as well - from a toy poodle, to two collies, and now a Shetland sheepdog. Starting in elementary school, I have taken care of many of my neighbors pets while they went on vacation or a weekend tournament. I have taken care of puppies all the way to senior dogs that need special care and special attention. I am currently a sophomore at Trinity Christian College, and I also play volleyball! My schedule is typically planned out weeks in advance, so I know when I am available to see your fur babies. I know how important it is to my family that my dog gets the attention he needs while we are gone, so I can promise I will do the same for you! Many dogs find it comfortable to stay in their own home. With owning many different dogs I know how to keep boundaries with dogs (if they like being touched, etc.) I have taken care of dogs who need medication, changed diapers, and food stirred a certain way😂. I will do my very best to make your dog as comfortable as possible.

About: *For pet owners new to Rover, ask me about my Promo Code to get $20 off your first booking* Hi, I’m Izzy! 😊 I aim to provide compassionate and detail-oriented care specific to the needs and routine of your fur baby with plenty of updates and photos so you can rest assured that they’re safe and sound and well taken care of 🤍 A little about me : I graduated from ISU in 2021 with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Throughout college, I gained experience working as a Clinical Pharmacy Tech, followed by a few years as an EMT. Now, I'm excited to be working in Vet Med as a full-time Veterinary Assistant! 🏥🐕🐈⬛ I have experience caring for dogs and cats of all different breeds, sizes, energy levels, and ages from 3 week old kittens to an 18 year old senior doggo! My experience on Rover and in veterinary medicine has also equipped me with the skills and experience necessary to care for pets with a wide range of medical conditions. Whether it's arthritis, diabetes, cancer, or another condition that requires extra detail and care, I'm committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment for your beloved companion. Of my own pets, I’ve raised (or helped raise) : 2 sweet Shih Tzus, an energetic cuddly Pitt Bull, a gentle Domestic shorthair, a very intelligent Rottweiler, 2 dwarf hamsters, and a few non-mammalian pets as well 😊 Currently, I have one large doggo named Brutus whom I adopted very recently 🐶 You actually may have heard of him as he recently became a “local celebrity” thanks to NewsWeek! (Google “Newsweek Brutus” if you’d like to take a look at the article!) I ensure that my Rover Calendar of Availability is consistently updated to reflect my true schedule. My availability tends to be very consistent. I work 12 hour shifts at the Veterinary Clinic every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. However, I can also use my hour long lunch break to check in on your fur babies. In addition, I am typically available Wednesday, Thursday, and most weekends. While I do not currently offer services in my own home- I am more than happy to come to you! Most pets find comfort in their daily/weekly routines (especially when their favorite human is away.) I will always do my best to support the routine that supports them ♡

“Kelly has started out great with my 3 dogs. Helping them all get used to her, as she gets Merlin leashed up for his walk. I have enjoyed getting to know her a little bit, too!”

About: I take care of 2 German Shepards. But I love all dogs. I run track and spend lots of time being active so I can walk your dog at any speed necessary ( or run ). I train every morning. After that I am ready to walk your dog. I’m off to college in Naperville so It’s hard for me to work a job. This is a good consistent way for me to earn some cash I feed, train, play with, walk, and live with my 2 German Shepards Richard and Roxy. All dogs deserve care and quality exercise. I can provide that.

“Finn looks forward to Danny coming and going for a walk. I have to be careful to not say Danny’s name until he is here, or I have an overly excited German Shepherd boy looking for him.”

“Very reliable and my dog loves him”

About: I started my pet care at my local animal shelter, then became a dog bather for about 5 years. I pet-sat on the side the same amount of years, taking care of my neighbors elderly poodles, drop in visits for a young and spry golden retriever, also stayed overnight at client's house who had two dogs and a cat! I've given pill medication, dealt with prescribed food and separation feeding times, and given pet-breathalyzer for a cat with asthma. I work second shift, from 5pm-1am. So I'm available most weekdays from early morning (preferably 9am earliest) to early afternoon (3pm latest). I always enjoyed pet care and excited to get back into it! First off, listening to them! Carefully observing their behavior at their natural state, then hungry, or playful state. Making sure they get their energy out with play time/walking.

About: Taking care of pets has been a part of my life. Whether it is my own pets, neighbors or family I have been entrusted with many wonderful animals. I just love dogs and find it very hard to resist trying to pet every one I see! I have administered various medications to dogs and want to be a calming loving person in their lives. I currently have an adult dog and a puppy so I am used to all levels of activity! I do work full-time during the day Monday-Friday, however I have a flexible lunch schedule and my nights and weekends are free. I work in the public school setting so I have Holidays and Summers off where I hope to be able to help lots of clients. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats (and an aquarium full of creatures). I have a fenced in yard but take my dogs for 2 walks a day. I have a variety of toys and beds and my dogs are definitely allowed up on the couch (but understand if yours are not!).

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats throughout high school and college. I first gained experience with my friends and family's fur babies. I understand that your furry friends are not just pets, but cherished members of your family. That's why I am dedicated to offering the highest standard of care, attention, and affection to ensure their happiness and well-being. I am a dedicated graduate student with a passion for providing top notch pet care tailored to your furry family members. I am currently immersed in the world of academia, which at times may be busy. However my love for animals remains unwavering and I've mastered the art of balancing a semi busy schedule with commitment to delivering exceptional pet care. Building trust is the most important aspect of providing quality pet care, which is why I am committed to understanding each pets individual needs, schedules, routines, and preferences. Through patience and understanding, I work to understand your fur baby's need. I believe happy pets are enriched pets! I strive to go beyond the basics by providing a fun stimulating environment for your furbaby. I believe in transparency and keeping you connected to your furbaby's experiences. Regular updates including photo messages will provide a glimpse into your babys life while away.

“Thank you so much for walking my boy. He truly loves you! Also thank you for being so accommodating for my last minute request. I really appreciate it. I will hire you again if needed. You’re the best!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals as far back as I can remember. Growing up we had horses, cats, dogs, and even pet crows at times. I’m a huge animal lover and currently have two cats of my own. I’d love to have a dog also but not quite ready for that full-time commitment…I’m happy to be able to help others with their dogs as I am able! I have been asked by friends and family members to house sit, do check-ins, dog walks, etc and I truly love it. I do work full-time but work from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I would be more available to do boarding, check-ins, or walking in the evenings and on weekends. Currently I have two cats so i don’t have any dog crates but would have plenty of space for you to bring your own. I don’t have a fenced in yard but will do regular leash walks. My cats are pretty friendly but could be contained in the basement if need be.

About: I’ve grown up with pets (cats and dogs) and also have experience with all kinds of animals (birds, reptiles, amphibians, rodents, and fish) thanks to previous petsitting experience and a zoological internship I had last summer. I also have experience with disabled animals—I’m qualified to administer insulin injections and have experience with oral, topical, and suppository pet medications. I also have experience with senior pets, animals with sensory/motor disabilities, and anxious/reactive cats and dogs. I work part time at a bumblebee lab at ISU and for the most part make my own hours, so my schedule is very flexible. I’m also currently a volunteer at Miller Park Zoo every Thursday from 8am-12pm. Dog walking: I have plenty of experience with dogs with poor leash manners (pulling, chasing cars/squirrels, snapping at other dogs, trying to eat litter/feces) and know what to do to keep your dog safe and happy on our walks. I always make sure to give dogs plenty of time to sniff around—smells are how they understand the world around them! I’m also a stickler for cleaning up after dogs on walks, as dog poop can actually be harmful to the local ecosystem. Petsitting: I want your pet to feel as comfortable as possible with me in their home. Cats and dogs can have trouble with changes to routine, so I always make sure to keep things in the house as similar to normal as possible. That means maintaining a feeding schedule and enforcing the same rules you do when you’re home. I also understand animal body language and can give your pet play, affection, or alone time depending on what they indicate they’d prefer.

“This was my first time using Rover and Kirstie helped make the experience just perfect! We only needed someone to let our dog out during one day. Kirstie came by the day before to meet our dog and learn his routine. Walks were within the timeframe we agreed to and the messages and photos kept our minds at ease knowing he was happy and being well cared for. That peace of mind made our trip even better. Will definitely recommend Kirstie and hope we can use her services again in the near future.”

About: I’ve taken care of all types of animals since I was a kid. From neighbors to people I happen to meet. I treat their pet like their my own. I’m currently a junior in college. I’m an animal science/prevet major. I love all animals from horses to cats. I’m available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11am-1pm to do drop in visits as well as walks. I’ve always keep a close eye when it comes to walks, letting dogs outside, or even making sure cats stay inside even when they want to be adventurous.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life as my family always had a dog. I have helped raise puppies and taken care of all dogs, indoor and outdoor. I have so much fun with dogs and love taking them with me on walks! I currently am a college students who has class during the days, but my classes only take around 3 hours a day. On thursdays, I do have a job I work during the day from 7 am- 3pm. I also do have a part time job that’s schedule changes week to week but currently I’m not working much there! Regardless if you let your dog out in your yard without a leash, I will be requiring a leash (if there are no fences) to keep your dog safe and others around safe. I especially think play time and walking tim are important for animals and their health! I will not be someone who pops in and out super fast and I will build a connection with your pets!

Drew P.
“Drew has been great with our dogs! He has been raised with large dogs, from Belgian Malinois to German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, and Labrador Retrievers, and he has also been around small dogs (Jack Russells, terriers, Lhasa Apsos). He adores dogs and has a gentle spirit, but he is also disciplined and understands training. He has trained German Shepherds and walks them frequently on leash with control and positive reinforcement. He can use training treats if a dog needs assistance learning how to walk on leash. He is strong and able to control large dogs if necessary if they are aggressive or skittish on walks. He knows the basics, too -- don't let a dog walk up to people, pass wide, cross to the other side of the street if necessary. He has supplies for clean-up of accidents. He can also give your dog additional exercise if needed by jogging with the dog (he is a track and cross country runner) or playing frisbee or ball catch in the yard. A great dog walker!”
