“Rachel and Ivan are absolutely wonderful! Gives us great peace of mind to know our Bouvier is welcomed into their home and treated like a family pet. Their dog is also awesome!”

“Such a great experience with Roxanne! Tulsa had a blast and her dog Bella is so sweet! I loved seeing pictures through the stay and my dog always looked so happy! Highly recommend and will use again!!”

“Jax really enjoyed his stay with Nikki, her pup and family! Nikki took great care of him and sent pictures and video. Her home was very welcoming, and the fenced in backyard was a definite plus!! I will definitely call upon Nikki again next time I need a caring sitter for my pup!!”

“Colleen EXCEEDED our expectations. We were traveling about 3 hours from the detroit area up to traverse city and we booked Colleen to care for our year old Yorkie teddy. We had never met her before but I just knew from looking at her photo that she was a sweet, kind and trusting person. I was absolutely correct. From the second she welcomed us into her house we were so comfortable and we laughed. Even my 1 year old was smiling and laughing with her. She really is incredible. I don't worry about Teddy for one second. She sent updates every day. She was excellent. If I go to traverse city again I will ONLY book Colleen.”

About: I've spent about 18 years caring for dogs, from puppies through their senior years, and dogs have always been an important part of my life. I've loved getting to know their different personalities and learning what makes each one happy. Over the last several years, raising and training my Australian Shepherd, Mina, has taken that interest to another level. I've spent a lot of time learning about dog training, enrichment, canine communication and behavior, and finding new ways to help her live a full and happy life. We've explored everything from trick training and agility to nose work, long-line adventures, swimming, fetch, puzzles, and plenty of downtime. It's become something I genuinely love learning about. One of the biggest things my dogs have taught me is to be curious and observant. Every dog has their own personality, preferences, boundaries, and way of communicating. I want to learn from you what your dog loves and what helps them feel comfortable, and then pay attention to what they're telling me while they're here. Whether they love sniffing and exploring, training and puzzles, playing fetch, or simply relaxing nearby, I want their stay to feel like it was designed with them in mind. I only board one household at a time, which allows me to give each guest a peaceful, individualized stay with plenty of attention and a routine tailored to them, just like I would want for my pup. I know how much trust it takes to leave a dog you adore with someone else, and I take that responsibility seriously. I work remotely with a flexible schedule, so I'm home throughout the day and already structure my routine around regular breaks for walks, play, training, enrichment, and downtime with my own dog. I do my best to maintain each guest's normal rhythm while they're here. Some dogs thrive on lots of activity and engagement; others need more time to settle, sleep, and simply have someone nearby. We'll talk about your dog's normal routine before their stay so I can create a day that feels comfortable and familiar to them. Drop-off and pickup times are arranged in advance so I can be ready to give your dog my full attention as they arrive and settle in. I want your dog to feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you're away, and for you to feel good about where you're leaving them. My home is set up to provide a peaceful, personalized stay with plenty of attention, enrichment, and room to relax. I only board one household at a time. Your dog will have their own bedroom and eating area, with a crate available if that's part of their normal routine. I also have a dedicated indoor play and enrichment area with agility equipment, puzzles, KONGs, toys, and other activities that I can tailor to what your dog enjoys. We can take regular walks through my quiet neighborhood, and I have a long outdoor trolley system for supervised outdoor time. Depending on the dog, our days might include walks, training games, scent work, puzzles, play, exploring outside, or plenty of time relaxing together. I have my own Mini Australian Shepherd, Mina, but your dog never needs to interact with her. If both dogs are comfortable and interested, I'm happy to introduce them carefully and at their own pace. Otherwise, my home is set up so they can comfortably have separate spaces, activities, and attention throughout the stay. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else. My goal is for them to have a stay that feels less like boarding and more like having their own little home away from home.

“Jill is amazing! She has watched Copper now twice and I love her! She sends lots of pictures and is quick to answer when I send a message. I will use her whenever I need a sitter.”

“Our little dog’s experience with Daniel was excellent. Daniel is warm and loving to his dogs and to visiting dogs as well. His two dogs are friendly, senior and low key. Our dog came home relaxed and clearly well cared for. I would certainly come back!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Yuma home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Yuma.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Yuma sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
