“Amanda’s lovely. This was my second time using Amanda for drop in visits with my boy Oliver, it was very last minute so I really appreciate her flexibility! She is so sweet with my sassy boy. She is definitely my go-to gal!”
“Rachel was very good and reliable. I asked her for help on short notice and she agreed immediately. I greatly appreciated her availability. She helped take care of the cat and was able to follow my instructions to replace litter robot trash bag well. I trust her!”

About: I've taken care of pets for as long as I can remember. Family and friends have relied on me to care for their furry friends for over 10 years. I even take care of cats and dogs professionally as a kennel assistant at an animal hospital! I'm a college student who works short hours part-time (at an animal hospital!), so I can always check in with your pet(s) between classes and before and after work! I can leash walk multiple dogs if needed, crate cats and dogs, and of course play with them for as long as they will have me!
“Issabella did a great job stopping in to care for our cat while we were out of town. She even brought a toy with her and the videos of our cat Doug seemed so happy. Grateful for Issabella!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, guinea pigs, geckos, and fish for years. I love taking care of animals of all shapes and sizes. I currently work early in the mornings and certain weekends during December-April. I am available after 3pm most days and I am flexible upon request between 12-3pm. I can crate your dog in home if you’d like after walks or drop in visits. I always make sure your fur baby has access to water at all times and food as instructed by the owners.

About: My family has always owned a dog. Ever since I was young, my family and friends have relied on me to care for their animals, whether it be a walk, or an overnight sit. I’m a current Ball State Social Work grad student and love paying visits to the local Animal Shelter in my free time! I am a part time grad student at Ball State University, and also work part time at a daycare. I still have a lot of free time I’d like to fill throughout the week doing something I love, like taking care of animals. I am very attentive when it comes to caring for other peoples babies. Safety for myself and the pet is my number one priority. I do have a fenced in big back yard, and I also live right next to campus!

“Steve did a quick drop-in for our mini siberian, was quick with updates and since this is our first drop-in with Steve, he made sure to keep it professional and did amazing with our dog! She was very happy to meet a new friend. He even stayed a little longer with her. Overall, she was happy meeting Steve!”

“Declan was sooooo amazing! I went on a 7-day trip and he stopped in to visit my cat Ty everyday! I always got lots of updates on his health and conformation that he got his meds. Not to mention all the cute photos! His updates really took the stress off of leaving my cuddly kitty home alone because I knew he was being taken care of. Declan is amazing!”

About: I have had the privilege of taking care of many different kinds of pets (dogs, cats, rabbits, birds) over the course of my life. I have worked with young and senior pets and feel comfortable with specialized care if needed. I am currently in the process of changing careers. This means that I have lots of time to play and spend time with your fur baby. I have taken care of many different pets (dogs, cats, rabbits, birds) in other people's homes. I will always respect your space and focus all my attention on your pet. While I am with your pet, their safety and well being are my number 1 priority so you can be at ease knowing they are well taken care of.
About: I grew up with at least always one dog in childhood home and was one of the few, if not only, kid on the street that parents and neighbors would ask to not only watch their kids but also take care of their fur (etc.) babies . Cats and dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs, snakes, lizards and birds are all animals at one point or another I have cared for. I also believe every breed and age of dog or cat deserves as much love and care any any other breed or aged pet! I love the outdoors, including days that arnt sunny and bright, and would love to play and entertain your beloved animal while also making sure all their needs are meet. Home with time to share with your family pets! I try to give ample notification if any changes occur. I am usually very responsive to texting, more so when I am caring for someone's beloved pet. If a client would like to keep their pets stress levels lower while they are on their vacation by having me come take care of their pet at their own territory that is great! I will always take time to play, pet, clean up after and or feed your pet if that is the service you require. Dog walks usually wont end unless the animal has relieved itself (individual pet dependent) and they are smiling those big goofy doggo smiles. My previous occupation had me perform security so I understand the importance of people needing to feel safe and secure in letting someone into their home while its unattended. Please feel free to ask me any types of questions and feel confident that none of your information will be shared/copied etc in any way in addition to the sites our background check.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Yorktown. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
