About: I’ve been around and caring for animals for most of my life, and pets are a huge part of my everyday routine. I have two friendly dogs of my own who love having someone new to play with, so your pup can have plenty of company and playtime while they’re here! We have a nice yard with plenty of room to play, lots of toys, and a comfortable home where pets are treated like part of the family. I’m happy to take dogs on walks, play outside, give them plenty of attention, and stick to their normal feeding and care routine. I’m also comfortable caring for cats, senior pets, and pets that need a little extra patience or attention. I know how stressful it can be leaving your pet with someone else, so I’ll send plenty of pictures and updates and make sure they’re safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re with me. I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pup attention throughout the day! I’m available for both doggy daycare and overnight boarding, including weekdays and weekends. Your dog will have plenty of playtime, outdoor time, walks, and time to relax. Your pup will be treated like part of the family while they’re here! I have two friendly, playful dogs and three very friendly cats, so there’s always plenty of company. We have a nice yard for outdoor time, plenty of toys and space to play, and lots of attention throughout the day. I’ll follow your dog’s normal feeding, sleeping, and care routine, provide walks and supervised playtime, and can crate them if requested. I’ll also send plenty of photo updates so you can see how they’re doing throughout their stay!
“Cooper had a great time with Alyssa and was very well cared for and safe. We got updates on how he was doing which helped us miss him a little less. I highly recommend Alyssa and we will be using her in the future.”
“5 stars for Karen. We booked our dog Kane for an over night boarding… first time with her. She has such a big heart for all fur pups and was welcoming and so caring towards Kane . Karen communicated so well…sent texts and pictures throughout Kane’s stay and even a small video to keep us in the loop on how he was doing . That was very much appreciated and we felt much more at ease about leaving him at a new unfamiliar place. We definitely won’t hesitate in using Karen again in the near future!! Thanks again Karen, you’re the best!”
“Melissa was incredible and so easy to communicate with My dog got to play with her lovely puppy! And they both were tiring each other out! The yard was a bonus! Melissa sent updates regularly and kept up with my puppy Keanu Reeves! Will use again! She was amazing!”
“Gracie and her husband were soooo good with our Leia! She sent us plenty of pictures and updates to let us know that she was doing well! Luma and Camo were such good friends to Leia while she was there!”
“I give David 5-stars for going above and beyond expectations in caring for our dog for 10-days. I received many photos showing my happy dog. That put my mind at ease. I had never left my dog with anyone and was not sure he would react. David took my dog for walks and brushed his hair. I would not hesitate to use him again.”
“Parker was great! I booked her last minute due to my puppy having a cough and she couldn’t have made my first Rover experience any better! Parker took the time to get to know poppy and her schedule to make sure that she was properly cared for. She sent updates throughout the weekend and made the whole process super stress free!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Yates City home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Yates City.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
