About: I have taken care of animals since I was 12. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences with a Pre-Veterinary Medicine Concentration. I also graduated from Tennessee College of Applied Technology as an Assistant Animal Laboratory Technician. With that being, said I have a vast amount of experience on how to care for animals. I am currently working part time, so I have a flexible availability when it comes to caring for your pet(s). Monday-Thursday I am available after 3pm, and Friday-Sunday I have full availability. I usually would let the animal get used to my scent and me being in their space, and then I would care for the dog by feeding them, and taking them to go potty. Then, I would play with them to ensure that they do not get bored and not have separation anxiety.

About: Hi! I’m Rachel, and I know pets are family. Whether your dog needs an energetic walk, your cat needs a quiet check-in, or you’re away for a few days, I’ll care for your pet with the same patience, kindness, and attention I’d want for my own. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and understand that every pet has a unique personality. Some love long walks and playtime, while others just want a calm companion and lots of affection. I’ll take the time to get to know your pet’s routine so they feel comfortable and secure. I believe communication is important, so you’ll receive regular updates, photos, and messages while you’re away. My goal is for you to have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for. Pet care fits naturally into my routine as an active mom and part-time student. I’m organized, dependable, and enjoy staying active, making daily walks and drop-in visits a great fit. I understand the importance of following routines, providing compassionate care, and keeping owners updated so they can feel confident their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for. I have two dogs and a cat of my own, so caring for pets is part of my everyday life. The backyard is fenced in and my cat can hide away in a separate room from curious pets. Whether in my home or yours, I follow each pet’s routine for feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and plenty of love and attention. I prioritize safety, keep their environment clean, and provide regular updates with photos so you can feel confident your pet is in caring hands.

About: Back in 2014, I attended Tennessee College of Applied Technology, graduated early with my diploma in Assistance Animal Laboratory Technicians, also with a certification in Purina Mills Animal Care Course. I have done an internship with North Shelby Animal Shelter as well as Bartlett Animal Shelte, where I took stray dogs/ abandoned out for walks and to play. Most of the dogs I encountered with at the shelter were sweet and loving dogs that just need a friend and time to spend with a person. I treated those dogs as my own. I have also intern at University of Tennessee Health and Science Center taking care of rodents, pigs, and other animals. I am someone who is mature, candid and who has integrity. Everyday I work to improve myself and my skills which is part of maturing and becoming better at what I do, this is why I want clients to choose me. I will treat your pets as my own pets. I will love and care for them, as if they where my own.

“Bailey did great! She was great at communicating and sending updates. There were a couple times she had to come past the scheduled drop in time which initially had me nervous, but she made it and communicated well each time which put me at ease. The dogs seemed to do great with her and she even helped wipe up the floor after it had rained and there were paw prints! Would definitely recommend”

About: I've been an animal lover for as long as I can remember! Growing up, I was always surrounded by pets, and I've spent years helping friends, family, and neighbors care for their furry family members. Whether it's going on walks, playing outside, feeding, or just keeping your pet company, I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I understand that pets aren't just animals - they're part of the family! I take that responsibility seriously and always do my best to make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. I'm dependable, patient, and happy to follow your pet's normal routine so they feel right at home. I'll also make sure to keep you updated with pictures and messages so you can relax knowing your furry friend is in good hands! I own my own business and work from home, which allows me to have a very flexible schedule. I can easily make time throughout the day for walks, feeding, playtime, and plenty of attention. Since I set my own hours, I'm able to work around your pet's routine rather than the other way around. Whether you need someone for a quick visit, regular walks, or extended care, I'm happy to accommodate your schedule! I understand how important it is to know your pets are in good hands while you're away. I have a dog of my own who relies on life-saving medication for epilepsy, so I know firsthand how important it is to stay on top of medications, schedules, and special care instructions. That experience has taught me to be especially attentive, patient, and responsible when caring for animals. I take the time to learn each pet's personality and routine, and I always treat your home with respect. I'm also happy to send regular photos and updates so you can relax knowing your pets are safe, comfortable, and getting the attention they deserve!

About: I’ve cared for animals since I was a small child, with neighbors and family trusting me to look after pets of all shapes and sizes — from dogs and cats to amphibians and farm animals. I pride myself on being judgment-free and flexible. No matter what your home looks like, how many pets you have, or where you’re located, your animals will be treated with kindness and respect. I’m experienced with everything from well-loved family pets to special cases and I’m always here to help. I am a college student pursuing a degree at the university of Memphis. In my spare time, I try to fill it with practical hands on animal experience that will further my career. I treat every animal under my care as if they were mine. When I petsit animals, I establish a schedule to make sure all needs are being met, this includes attention of course! I love taking the animals I petsit on field trips, such as the dog park, Hollywood feed or car rides. Any animal under my care is always cheerful with a day jam packed full of fun.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
