About: I am a long time animal lover that has experience with cats and dogs as pets, as well as volunteer work with different animal organizations. I have done a rotation with the Humane Society for Animals, caring for a large number of cats seized from a neglect case. Part of my onboarding required completing coursework in fear free interaction with animals. I also have a year of experience volunteering at a sanctuary for abused/neglected farm animals. The farm is free range for most of the animals, and my experience working and interacting with them has helped me to deepen my understanding of animal behavior. I believe patience, understanding and compassion are the top 3 qualities needed for animal care, and I make it my mission to keep that in mind in all circumstances. Currently, I can do nights on week days, but am available any time during the weekend. I offer: dog walking, dog sitting, cat care and enrichment activities for both cats and dogs. I can provide overnight stays as well, provided enough notice is given. I promise to give you an anxiety free experience for your pet care, and will treat them like I'd treat one of my own. NOTE*: I will be out of town from Oct 31 - Nov 18, and will be available again Nov 19, 2026. Currently, I can do weeknights from 5pm onward. I am available any time on the weekend. Overnight stays are also available, but will depend on the amount of notice given. I have 2 indoor cats who are both social and friendly. I have a variety of cat toys, towers and enrichment activities. I will consider boarding a cat in my place, provided that my own cats don't protest.
“We have had Leah come to our house for both overnight stays and drop in services. She is a great caretaker, and easy to communicate with. She is mature and responsible. We are grateful that we found her!”
“Brook-lynn is great to Max. He's always so excited after a stop in visit with her. She communicates well and always sends me photos. I'd high recommend letting her take care of your fur baby!”

About: I have managed 3 different dog day care and boarding facilities for the past 15 years! I was in charge of a yard full of over 50 dogs and took my job very seriously. I boarded dogs in my own home when I lived in NJ and Texas. I loved each of those dogs and always took and sent multiple picture to owners! Wouldn't you love to see your dog having a fun time while you are on vacation? I love dogs so much that I have fostered over twenty dogs through three rescues and transported dogs for those rescues as well! When I was younger I also raised a seeing eye puppy. Your dog will have a great stay with me and you'll be worry free! I am basically always home playing with my personal dogs and boarding dogs! Your dog will be on their own vacation when they're with me! Dogs in my care will always be safe and happy! I will make sure they get enough exercise and love from me! They will have a good time too while you're away on vacation!
“Cortney was just fantastic to work with! She spent time bonding and playing with our cats, sent lots of pictures, and even won over our shy guy. We’ve already booked our next visit with her! Highly recommend!”

About: I have grow up with multiple dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments my whole life and also have cared for others pets for several years! I currently have two fur babies of my own, Mylo and Jazzy, whom I love dearly! Mylo is a cuddly King Charles Spaniel who I have raised from a puppy and Jazzy is a beagle mix who I rescued when she was 3 ! Due to her rough past, she unfortunately has worked through some anxiety issues which has allowed me to become an expert in giving medications and TLC. She is thankfully totally anxiety free now and living her best life! I am looking forward to providing your pups with a PAWsome experience! I am currently working from home which gives me ample time to provide your pets with the care they need! I ideally would like to watch your dogs at my house due to having dogs of my own/ my work set up. When taking care of your pups, they will be continually monitored and provided with the safest environment possible! I would treat your pets like one of my own and provide them with the excellent care they deserve! We have a beautiful back yard for a safe environment for your pups to run and play.

About: I’ve had dogs and the occasional cat since I was born, including a sweet old lab/doberman mix, a lazy corgi mix, and an anxious westie. I’ve also volunteered at animal shelters from a young age and have watched over many friends’ and neighbors’ pets. I’m currently a full time student at Slippery Rock University, so my availability is limited to weekends and breaks at the moment as I focus on classes. When taking care of your pets, all of my attention will be on them and their health, safety, and comfort. Beyond that, I will follow whatever instructions are given to me, as I understand every pet is different. I’m happy to play energetically or sit quietly while your pet gets used to a new friend.
About: I’m an animal lover! I not only grew up with several pets including cats, dogs, fish, parakeets, & hermit crabs - but I now have two cats and two dogs of my own. I know how difficult it can be to find someone to check on your pets when you’re in a bind. That’s why I decided to reactivate this account, to help others out! Pet services give me the pleasure of working with animals while helping out the owner. I enjoy running, walking, hiking, and play time, as well as just relaxing with animals. I treat every pet as if it were my own, with love and care. Availability : Mondays = After 5pm Tuesdays / Wednesdays / Thursdays = 12-1pm & After 4:30pm Fridays = After 3:30pm Saturdays & Sunday’s = Open I treat all animals as if they were my own which includes patience, love, affection, and gentleness. I’m also accommodating to their specific mannerisms such as high energy, size, disability, etc.
“Corinne M. was a wonderful, knowledgeable, dedicated care-giver for our beloved standard poodles while we were away. She is very easy to work with, accommodating to our changed schedule and a great asset to our constant quest for good pet caregivers. Thank-you, Corinne! We look forward to working with you again!”

About: I am looking to offer the unique opportunity to allow people to have their pets cared for by someone who is truly qualified. My personal goal is to put all profits made on Rover towards my student loans. I currently work full-time with a four day schedule each week and the days I'm off rotate, if you know a specific time you're going away, please reach out to me at least 12 weeks in advance and I can try to accommodate my work schedule. I will watch your pets the entire time. I'm with them, I will either keep them within their fenced in yard or on a leash if not in their own yard at all times.

About: Although I do not currently have pets of my own, I have always loved animals and have been the go-to pet sitter for friends and colleagues since moving back to Pittsburgh in 2019. I have cared for dogs and cats of all sizes, ages, and personalities, from quick check-ins to longer stays. Because I work remotely, my schedule is flexible and I can provide consistent care, attention, and updates while you are away. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet and your home, so I try to be dependable, communicative, and attentive to each pet’s routine. Since I do not have pets of my own, I genuinely enjoy getting to care for other people’s pets like they are part of my extended family. I work remotely, so my schedule is flexible and I can provide pet care during the day, in the evenings, and on weekends depending on the booking. Because I can work from different locations, I’m able to spend quality time with pets during house sitting stays and provide consistent check-ins, feeding, walks, playtime, and updates. I’m happy to follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. I care for pets in their own home, where they can stay comfortable with their usual routine, space, food, toys, and schedule. I always follow owner instructions closely, including feeding, medication, walks, litter care, crate routines, and any house rules. I’m respectful of both your pet and your home, and I prioritize communication, safety, and calm, attentive care. I’ll also send updates so you know your pet is doing well while you’re away.

For your peace of mind and your dog's safety, I provide all care right in the comfort of your own home, and I always have a trusted backup ready to help if your pup ever needs an extra hand.

About: I've had multiple dogs and cats my whole life and they have all been my best friends! We like to cuddle, go on walks and learn new skills. I'm no stranger to pets of all different personalities and know how to meet them where they are. I'm experienced in providing insulin to dogs and topical treatment to cats. I don't currently have pets of my own but have spent weeks looking after the cats and dogs of friends and family. I love those times that I'm able to bond with their fur babies and would love to get to know yours as well! I currently work remotely and can be available for boarding throughout the week and weekend. I'm available to hangout with your pets, take them on walks or bathroom breaks, feed times or personal enrichment, whatever they may need. I have a backyard that pets can run around in, it is fenced on one side only so they would need to have a long leash for safety. I don't have other pets so they wouldn't have any problems there! If coming to your home I'm happy to go by the rules that you set and the comfort levels that you have. I always find pets do best in their comfort zones anyway and I'm excited to meet them where they are!
“Kristie B. is the best dog sitter! Sami had the best time with her! Kristie sent me pictures every day so I could see how they were doing - and so I didn’t miss her too much! Thank you, Kristie!”

About: I’ve had 2+ dogs in my entire life. In my adult life I’ve had 2+ service dogs that travel with me. I am a critical care nurse who has taken pet CPR as far as safety. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
