Katie was very attentive, helpful, and took the absolute best care of our cats. She was very accommodating and asked any questions or concerns she may have which we really appreciated. We felt confident that our babies were well taken care of while we were gone. Would definitely recommend booking her.

About: I have ample room and time to love on your fur babies!! I currently do not have any dogs but love them all! I also have a basement with a separate gate if your pet needs space by itself. I live close to the mountains so if you want to take the day to hike/explore sperryville I am your go to:) I work from home and love my animals!! I am fortunate to have the flexibility to take care of my farm animals and others when needed. I own a small farm with plenty of space for walking and also have a fenced in garden than I can use during the colder months for secure play for dogs.

About: I have been around dogs my whole life. They truly are a man’s bestfriend. At home I have a beautiful white lab, he is 95lbs of pure love thinking he’s a lapdog. I also have a King Charles Cavalier that is the princess of the house. She is so happy and spunky and keeps us all laughing. Previously I have owned Cocker Spaniels, other Labs and a Maltese. I started dogsitting when I was 11 years old. I had just arrived at my grandparents house and I saw this little dog wandering around and he ran right to me and I saw the owner walking towards me up the road. The puppy let me pick him up and we walked all the way to the owner. He and his wife were pilots so whenever they were flying I was working and I was ecstatic to have my first job looking after their two dogs. Through the years I’ve done Bathing, walks, feeding, medications, shots , vet trips, etc. I truly love dogs and seeing them happy, and giving their families peace of mind that their beloved pups will be well loved while they are gone. I send texts and pictures of each visit and keep in communication with the family. If you choose to trust me with your four legged family member I guarantee they will be well taken care of and loved. I am a teacher so I have Summers to offer. My Schedule throughout the school year fills up so book in advance because I also do tutoring, and nannying throughout the week. I would love to meet you and your pup. Just reach out! I will not be able to have any dogs in my home personally because of home owner restrictions. In the clients home I would provide feelings, walks, medication, or whatever else the puppy would need. If there is a history of dogfights or biting I am not the person for you.

About: Hi!! I am the owner of Pets and Pastures Pet Care, LLC. I’ve been pet sitting for over 10 years and have experience caring for a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, turtles, and fish. Friends and neighbors have always trusted me to look after their pets while they're away, knowing they'll be in good hands. Currently, I live on a farm with two horses, three dogs, six cats, one pig, and chickens, so I’m very comfortable around animals of all kinds. I provide services in Castleton, Amissville, Rixeyville, Little Washington, Warrenton, and Culpeper. I am willing to travel to other towns. Your pet’s comfort and safety are my top priorities. I take the time to understand each animal’s unique needs and personality to ensure they feel safe, happy, and well-cared for in your absence. I offer flexible pet sitting services, including multiple daily drop-ins or dog walks. I’ll also provide daily photo updates so you can stay connected with your fur baby while you're away. I am negotiable with prices. Please feel free to reach out! I’d love to meet you and your fur babies!! I'm currently pet sitting full-time and working part time at RAWL, so I’m likely to be available when you need me. I occasionally manage multiple homes at once, so scheduling is usually not a problem. I carefully follow all instructions when caring for pets to ensure they are comfortable and happy while their owner is away. My goal is to give pet owners peace of mind so they can fully enjoy their vacation. I always make sure pets receive plenty of attention, are well cared for, fed on time, and given any necessary medications.

Madison is superb. She’s incredibly responsive and responsible. We were nervous about leaving our pups behind and concerned we might have trouble finding someone brave AND loving enough to care for the bully breed. Madison didn’t flinch and our dogs took to her immediately. She is professional, kind, punctual, caring, and will even send photos, which is incredibly thoughtful and reassuring. We won’t hesitate to rely on Madison in the future and highly recommend her services to others.

About: As the daughter of a pet-sitting business owner and veterinary technician, I’ve been caring for animals from an early age. With over 10 years of experience working alongside my mother and in veterinary offices across Northern Virginia, I’ve learned that every pet is unique and deserves individualized care. Before moving back to Northern Virginia in 2023, I also owned a successful pet-sitting business in St. Croix, USVI. My own pets have taught me a lot as well—my pit mix, Bella, survived both a fighting-breed environment and Hurricane Maria, and my two rescue bassets struggled with separation anxiety, as well as our Moluccan cockatoo we raised from a nestling. Those experiences reinforced the importance of patience, empathy, and consistency. I’m a non-smoker, organized, and detail-oriented. I’m also available for last-minute needs and those holiday plans that sometimes run longer than expected. Above all, I take this work seriously and will care for your pet with the same love I give my own. 🐾🖤 Working mainly from home allows me the flexibility to plan my days around feeding, walks, playtime, and making sure pets feel safe, loved, and cared for. In my home or a client’s, I follow each pet’s usual routine for feeding, walks, play, and rest, while giving them plenty of love and attention to keep them comfortable. We can work on learning new tricks and reinforcing obedience training.

About: Hello! My name is Amanda and I LOVE animals of all shapes and sizes. I have worked in animal medical centers as a kennel and doggy day care attendant, giving me valuable experience taking care of many pets at one time, including feeding and watering on a schedule, walks and play time, and administering medication. I know traveling can be stressful for pet owners (I have a dog of own) so I promise to give your pet the care they deserve, whether it be taking them on walks and getting lots of play time or just hanging out and giving them cuddles while you're away. I love getting to connect with pets while putting their owners' mind at ease. I look forward to meeting your sweet fur baby! I'm currently in between jobs, so my availability is very open. However starting around April/May, my schedule will be more limited to weekends and evenings only. I do not board pets in my own home, however in client's home I am respectful of pet and owners boundaries, following client wishes and maintaining a clean and orderly manner

About: My name is Alexis F. and I have over 15 years experience with dogs. We've had dogs in my family since before I was born but I really started training at the age of 7 with a local 4H club. In my free time I enjoy training animals in agility, obedience, and tracking. I have experience working with intact animals and managing dogs with behavior issues. I feel that every dog can be a good dog if they are set up for success. Every walk we take is considered training and they will be given a chance to use their brain to their fullest potential. During your dogs walks I offer two types of walk options. The first walk I offer is a training walk where we will spend 15 minutes working on heeling and 15 minutes allowing the dog to smell and go potty. I also offer hikes where your dog will be allowed to walk 1-4 miles over varying terrain depending on their fitness level and ability to get along with other animals. We try to follow owners daily routines the best we can when you leave your dog in our care so that transitions from house to house go as smooth as possible. I am well versed in giving medication and injections for dogs and I am happy to board dogs with special needs. I do ask that dogs are reasonably crate trained so that if they need to be left unattended for any amount of time they can remain in a crate for their safety. I am happy to discuss specific needs as far as crating goes. I am currently only working part time hours and am home most of the days. When I am not a home the pets are carefully monitored by camera in a dog safe part of the house. And given different items to keep them busy and enjoying their alone time. Whenever they have been in the crate they can expect a nice long romp around the property to give them ample time to use their nose and get a good run in. I have a fenced in small dog yard and we have a perimeter fence around our entire property allowing an additional level if security. When our on walks we make sure harnesses and collars are fit correctly and if there is a chance of a dog being a flight risk we take extra measures to prevent dogs from slipping out of collars. I am experienced in off leash trained dogs and I am happy to follow any specific instructions for what owners are comfortable allowing their dogs to do.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
