“My baby LOVES you and I appreciate how flexible you are!”

About: At Williamson Animal Care and Control I volunteered walking dogs. I also received significant training in dog behavior and dog walking. After retiring from my career, I started my pet sitting and dog walking career. I took care of a rescued Great Pyrenees multiple times during the week and frequently overnight trips for over two years. I recently moved back to the Fort Wayne area from Franklin, TN. Three of my previous dog clients have shown interest in having me come back to stay with their dogs when they’re out of town for more than a couple days. Pet sitting and dog walking are my primary responsibilities along with taking care of my two cats. I have a very flexible and available schedule. I take pride and making sure that the client’s home is as good if not better when I entered. I will walk the dog, feed or treat, make sure the water bowl is full and also if appropriate snuggles.

“He’s been very communicative and awesome with my dog Vera! He takes her for walks and to the dog park which is great for her. We like him a ton!”

About: I foster puppies and adult dogs regularly (6 in just the past several months) for a local shelter. I have a real love for training and rehabilitating pups to be a blessing to their families. I keep pets on a routine and am familiar with enrichment activities. My home will be your dog's home away from home where they will be spoiled with love and trained on manners using only positive encouragement. I work a hybrid schedule where I am in office 2-3 days per week (mon-wed) and remote 2-3 days per week (some Mondays and every Thur Fri). There is another adult in the home who is often available for mid-day potty breaks and play breaks on those couple days I am gone. During the summer I have even greater availability. I have a large fenced in yard with two of my own fur babies who are so gentle and playful if your dog enjoys company. I can also give your dog it's very own space in the house with their crate door left open and access to their food/water in my kitchen/dining area. My home has multiple living spaces and my two dogs are crate trained as well.

About: I've worked with dogs, cats, and other animals since middle school. I've done short- and long-term sitting for dogs varying from a weekend with a mixed breed rescue to a month with a purebred Australian shepherd. I owned an elderly Maltese for three years, until he crossed the rainbow bridge. Currently I do have a limit of dogs of maximum 35 pounds. I am prepared and willing to work with training routines. I studied cats extensively in seventh grade in my attempt to persuade my parents into owning one. (It worked.) As either a cat owner or sitter, I've been working with cats ever since. I have a beautiful little black and white princess named Jane, with an affinity for burrowing in blankets and stealing pens, and a wild child named Lizzie who has never met a stranger. I offer dog and cat walks, animal feeding, water changes, litter box changes, playtime, and brushing. I'm open to pets outside the usual; anything except spiders. My availability is very flexible right now. Send me a message to get a request started! Currently I do gig work and have a very open and flexible schedule. Most Sundays I spend out of town, but feel free to message to discuss custom scheduling. Safety and care in a pet's home is reliant first and foremost on learning the family's routines and location of important items. Every family in every home has a system and routines in place; following those is the smoothest way to keep the animals happy and safe. In my home, I care for two young adult cats I own, as well as foster kittens. Right now, I have a group of four kittens to care for until they reach their goal weight for their spay/neuter surgeries. I do practice robust hygiene routines to ensure no potential illness is transmitted between the fosters and my cats.

“Shari is so sweet! She was great with my two big dogs. Of course most people get scared when big dogs are barking at them, but she was comfortable to just let them do their barking and growling circling her until they realized she was friendly. Very gentle and genuine with my dogs. She left a note thanking me for letting her walk my furbabies and told me how they did. Generous touch. I'm definitely going to book with her again!!”

About: Hello! I love dogs and everything about them. I have a dog of my own who I recently trained to file his front nails! I enjoy playing in my backyard with him and recently have taken to making home made dog food and treats. I think it is fun to treat my dog like a family member. I am interested in learning about different breeds. I know how hard it is to find reliable and caring people who will treat your dog with the kindness s/he deserves. I would like to help reduce that stress and offer my services to those who are in need of quality dog care. I have experience with chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs as well. I have a flexible schedule and am available for drop ins at most hours, including early morning and late nights. I am central in the city and am close to most areas. I have a fenced in yard. My dog is crate trained. I walk my dog daily and give him the best foods and preventative meds.

About: I’ve always been a big animal lover, I worked at the Garrett Veterinary Hospital my senior year of high school and have had pets my entire life. I have a lot of experience with sick pets or animals who need extra care, including needing medications, etc.. I’m good with small or large animals and can do small basic needs I have learned in my year! I graduated from Garrett High school and am currently a freshman at Purdue Fort Wayne! I am willing to take your dog to veterinary appointments, give medication (oral & injected), take your animals to the park, and can be flexible with needs of the dog as well as the pet owner. I have experience with dogs who aren’t as friendly as well and know how to handle them in a good manner and would be willing to work with them as well! With small information from the owner I can usually diagnose some problems as well as the best recommendations my veterinarian has given out to many cases we have seen.

About: I’ve had cats and dogs my whole life, I know how important it is to treat our animals like family! I go for walks every day and would love to take your dog with me! I exercise every day and try to get outside for walks at least once a day, taking a dog in need of some fresh air with me would be a win win for both of us! I have a secure privacy fence around my back yard and I work from home so your pet will never be left here alone. I treat my animals like family, and there are 2 days a week when it’s only me and my cat because my dog stays with family.

“Rita has done an amazing job caring for my dog and cat (Frankie and Fable), and we’ve been so lucky to have her. My dog, Frankie, is sensitive and can be a little nervous, but she absolutely loves Rita, which speaks volumes. Rita treats both of them like they’re her own—with so much love, attention, and knowledge about their care. She’s given medications, taken Frankie on countless walks, plays with Fable (who is very energetic), kept them fed and happy, and was even prepared to keep them safe during a tornado warning. We recommend her wholeheartedly.”

Natalie S.
“I’ve yet to meet someone who loves dogs as much as she does. She takes the time to train them (crate, sit, down, shake, heel/touch, and even to ring bells on the door when needing to go out) and she excels at it. I know she has been fostering dogs for quite awhile and always makes sure the dog is ready for its eventual owners. Even if it came from a bad situation, is weeks/months old, and even if deaf. I would highly recommend her for anything dog related!”

Emery S.
“Emily has stayed with our dog, Ollie, on multiple occasions. Ollie loves it with Emily comes which is saying a lot because our dog has severe anxiety! Emily has always taken impeccable care of both Ollie and our home when she has stayed here. She makes sure that he gets his medicine on schedule, and spends time playing with him and loving him. When we leave Ollie with Emily, we are at peace and have now worries! We know without a doubt that he is in good hands and will get all of the love and attention that he needs!!”

LAUREN S.
“We have just started working with Lauren but couldn't be more pleased! She has cared for our three-year-old Corgi and our three cats. She is extremely accommodating and flexible with her availability. She is responsible, caring and communicative. She lets us know how the dog walking visits went and adapts as needed (Corgi's get hot fast and sometimes just want some playtime instead). She even sent pics to show us our happy little walker. We plan to use Lauren on a weekly basis and as needed from now on!”
