“Stephanie was wonderful. Great communication, prompt and on time, and our puppy loved spending time with her! Definitely will use Stephanie in the future and recommend her for any pet sitting/care needs!”

“Taylor did an amazing job with our dog Ellie Mae. Ellie is very afraid of fireworks and thunder. While we were away we had several thunderstorms and Taylor made sure to take extra special care of Ellie. She kept us updated daily with photos of a happy dog. I would highly recommend Taylor to anyone that is using Rover to find an excellent in home dog sitter. We will definitely be using her in our future needs.”

“Amanda is great! She is a great communicator, both during the stay and leading up to the stay. She left the house in immaculate condition and sent photos or our pup every day. We will definitely be booking her in the future!”

“James is fantastic! He has watched our dog (and house) several times. It is obvious that he loves animals and he is very neat and conscientious staying at our house. It has been so helpful having someone we trust to take care of things while we are gone. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 9, I’ve fostered and rescued many dogs with different temperaments. I’m good with small dogs and even better with the big ones! I’ve handled highly active and highly lazy dogs. If your pup needs to get his/her energy out im the one to call! I can take your pet on a walk/run or even just play till your little one tires out. I’m currently out of school for summer break till August 7th. Any day of the week you need me, I should be available to assist. I care for all pets with the same amount of patience that I give my own. If you ask me to let your dog out every few hours, I’ll let your dog out and play fetch. If you want me to take your dog on a walk, I’ll take them on a walk and I’ll have my own doggy water source to make sure they stay hydrated. I will always go above the standard to meet your dogs needs.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I could walk. I have never had a time in my life where I have not had at least one dog. I currently have a 5 year old pit mix. I just lost my 15 year old girl. I trained them both from 8 week puppies. So I have extensive experience with puppies and seniors. I am skilled at giving medication and can work with anxious or reactive or hyperactive dogs. I have also had cats and am familiar with their unique personalities! I work from home so my schedule is fairly flexible. I can work from wherever there is WiFi so as long as your house has WiFi I can be there as much as you require! I will take care of your home in addition to your fur baby. I will keep it as it first was when I arrived. Your fur baby will be safe, well loved, and well taken care of in your absence.
“Susan has house sat for us several times and we are very pleased with her services. She is an excellent communicator and we really appreciate her flexibility. Our Shih Tzu Pumpkin is always well cared for and we have peace of mind while traveling. We will continue to request Susan to house/pet sit as often as possible.”

“Taylor was amazing! She sent updates of my pups and spent good quality time with them that they crave. I came back to some very happy dogs and a very clean house! I will definitely be using Taylor in the future.”

“Ash was so great with our dogs and cat! This was my first time using Rover for pet sitting so I was a little nervous about leaving them, but I quickly realized they were in great hands with Ash. She made sure to give them so much love and attention while we were away and I think they made a new best friend!”

“Shayna, kept Journey on schedule, and Journey ate all her meals under her care. This is a rarity because Journey is usually anxious when she is boarded. Shayna was also very respectful of my home”

“I needed a last minute dog sitter and Kendall was kind enough to agree to help. She was great and did such a good job taking care of my Ellie and provided photos and updates throughout her stay. She even left a sweet gift for me upon my return. Would definitely have her take care of Ellie again!”

“Lanae was beyond kind to our two mini dachshunds. They have anxiety and are less than a year old, so they can be a hand full. She also stayed at our house and left everything as is. She was communicative and sent pictures often. Our two little dogs were sad to see her go. 💜 There was a small billing issue with Rover and she was quick to call and work it out. I’d 100% recommend Lanae. I could not say enough good things about her!”

About: I truly enjoy being outside and on the move — and that energy translates into how I care for pets. Your dog will get more than a quick walk; they’ll get fresh air, exercise, and one-on-one time with someone who loves keeping them happy and active. As a mom, I’m used to juggling schedules, staying active, and caring for others — and pet care fits right in! I’m looking for part-time work that I truly enjoy. Walks, drop-ins, or overnight stays fit perfectly into my daily routine. I’m flexible when it comes to where your pet feels most comfortable — whether that’s in your home or mine. Every pet and family has different needs, and I’m happy to adjust my schedule and setup to make things as easy as possible for you (and stress-free for your pet!).

About: I have cared for many dogs of all sizes, personalities, and ages. I am a very calm individual with emergency training and you can guarantee your pet will be in good hands. I have owned a pet in all stages of my life and believe their presence makes this world a little easier. The owning and watching of pets has greatly improved my lifestyle helping me to stay active and in nature. Your dog will not be left unsupervised in any situation and crated if 100% necessary. Potty breaks, play, and mental stimulation will be often and fun. I am sure to follow any special instructions and learn your pets.

About: Hi! I’m Scarlett, a 30-year-old lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience caring for pets of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. I grew up on a farm where caring for animals was part of my everyday life, teaching me early on that every animal has unique needs and deserves patience, compassion, and reliable care. Today, I have six pets of my own: two senior dogs (one 5 pounds and one 90 pounds), two cats, and two ferrets. This has made me very comfortable handling different temperaments, energy levels, and mobility needs, and I always tailor my care to each pet. I’m experienced with administering medications, including oral meds and injections, and I’m happy to follow detailed care instructions, special diets, and routines. Whether your pet loves walks, playtime, or cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for. You can expect regular updates and clear communication while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! Monday-Fridays: 6:30am-7:30am / 5:30pm-11:00pm Saturday - Sunday full open availability If you have specific times please feel free to ask. I may be able to accommodate I treat all animals like I would my very own. I have great attention to details depends on each one’s unique quirks. If you have a fenced yard I ensure gates are closed. Leashed before doors open for walks. I’ve handled horses so big dogs are not a problem. If your pets get crated I also ensure it’s properly latched. Im also very used to animal body language and feel comfortable around navigating when some animals dont get along in the same household with each other and on what to do

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wood Valley Estates
Let me start this review of with saying this was our first time leaving our pup with someone else so it was nerve wracking. I knew instantly upon messaging Stephanie we found the right person. She has tons of excellent reviews and repeat customers for a reason. We will also be a repeat customer anytime we need someone to watch our prized possession. Stephanie came over a few days before for a meet and greet and I knew instantly we found the right person. When we met her she introduced herself but was so excited to see Geppetto (our pup) and it was genuine and I knew God put her in our life on purpose. She is kind, caring, very transparent and a good human. She sent us updates, pictures and ensured everything was in order upon arrival and leaving. If you need someone to watch your pet — this is it. I truly felt that our dog was cared for the same way we do. We could not have asked for a better first expierence.

Madeline is the BEST! The dogs felt so comfortable with her. She updated me with pictures, video, and status of the dogs. I appreciated her communication and how well she cared for our pups. I felt confident in leaving our dogs in her care. I highly recommend Madeline.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wood Valley Estates walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wood Valley Estates maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wood Valley Estates choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
