“Stephanie was wonderful. Great communication, prompt and on time, and our puppy loved spending time with her! Definitely will use Stephanie in the future and recommend her for any pet sitting/care needs!”

“Taylor did an amazing job with our dog Ellie Mae. Ellie is very afraid of fireworks and thunder. While we were away we had several thunderstorms and Taylor made sure to take extra special care of Ellie. She kept us updated daily with photos of a happy dog. I would highly recommend Taylor to anyone that is using Rover to find an excellent in home dog sitter. We will definitely be using her in our future needs.”

About: I’ve been caring for animals for more than 20 years, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and other beloved pets. For me, pet care is more than feeding and walking, it’s about creating a safe, calm, loving environment where animals feel comfortable, understood, and cared for. As a counselor, I bring a natural understanding of behavior, communication, emotional regulation, and individual needs. I am also a service-dog handler, giving me firsthand experience with the responsibilities, routines, and attentiveness required when caring for working and support animals. What sets me apart is my patience, attentiveness, and ability to meet each pet where they are. I’m comfortable caring for puppies, senior pets, anxious or sensitive animals, and pets with unique routines or personalities. I take the time to learn what makes each animal feel safe and loved, and I treat every pet in my care as if they were my own. Your pet’s well-being, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. ❤️ Pet care fits well into my routine because my schedule is highly flexible. I’m generally available on weekday evenings and weekends, although I usually need advance notice to plan appropriately and provide reliable, attentive care. I communicate clearly about availability and make sure each visit receives the time and attention your pet deserves. I prioritize safety, trust, and clear communication in every pet-care arrangement. I am not offering in-home boarding or pet care in my own home (I’m full-); I provide services such as visits or walks according to the agreed-upon arrangement. Before beginning, I carefully review your pet’s routine, medical or behavioral needs, access instructions, emergency contacts, and household expectations. I respect your privacy and property, follow your instructions closely, and maintain professional boundaries while caring for your pet in your client’s home.
“Amanda is great! She is a great communicator, both during the stay and leading up to the stay. She left the house in immaculate condition and sent photos or our pup every day. We will definitely be booking her in the future!”

“James is fantastic! He has watched our dog (and house) several times. It is obvious that he loves animals and he is very neat and conscientious staying at our house. It has been so helpful having someone we trust to take care of things while we are gone. Highly recommend!”

“Another great experience with Susan. She took such thoughtful care of Homer, especially during the thunderstorm. Susan also treats our home with care while she is here. We appreciate her so much!”

“Taylor was amazing! She sent updates of my pups and spent good quality time with them that they crave. I came back to some very happy dogs and a very clean house! I will definitely be using Taylor in the future.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I could walk. I have never had a time in my life where I have not had at least one dog. I currently have a 5 year old pit mix. I just lost my 15 year old girl. I trained them both from 8 week puppies. So I have extensive experience with puppies and seniors. I am skilled at giving medication and can work with anxious or reactive or hyperactive dogs. I have also had cats and am familiar with their unique personalities! I work from home so my schedule is fairly flexible. I can work from wherever there is WiFi so as long as your house has WiFi I can be there as much as you require! I will take care of your home in addition to your fur baby. I will keep it as it first was when I arrived. Your fur baby will be safe, well loved, and well taken care of in your absence.
“We are so thankful for Amanda! She took such great care of our elderly dog over the weekend and went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and well cared for. Her communication was excellent, she showed up early, and he even went the extra mile by cleaning the sheets afterwards. Truly wonderful experience. We felt completely at ease knowing our pup was in such caring hands. Highly recommend!”

“My fur baby bonded with Lanae quickly – it made me feel relaxed and able to enjoy my vacation. She sent updates regularly—with lovely and fun photos always!—played with Cai and even took the initiative to replenish her doggie frozen treats when we ran out! Lanae was so patient and flexible with some variables that came up and I appreciated that. I had no doubt that my fur baby was in great hands. I will definitely have her over to spend time with Cai again! Thank you, Lanae, for loving on Cai!”

“We had a great experience with Brittney. She stayed at our home with our three pets and took excellent care of all of them. One dog is very shy and timid, and one dog has just had surgery. Brittney handled all the medications and kept me updated on all pets. We would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring person to look after their pets.”

“I needed a last minute dog sitter and Kendall was kind enough to agree to help. She was great and did such a good job taking care of my Ellie and provided photos and updates throughout her stay. She even left a sweet gift for me upon my return. Would definitely have her take care of Ellie again!”

“This was our first time using a pet sitting service and it was absolutely amazing! Aniyah is so sweet and kind and she treated our Kingston like her own from the very first time of meeting him. Aniyah sent us pictures and updates throughout the whole stay which made us feel so relieved and comfortable knowing our boy was being well looked after. If you're looking for a dog sitter we highly recommend Aniyah, she was the best!!”

“Ash was so great with our dogs and cat! This was my first time using Rover for pet sitting so I was a little nervous about leaving them, but I quickly realized they were in great hands with Ash. She made sure to give them so much love and attention while we were away and I think they made a new best friend!”

“Allyson is as absolutely fantastic! From our first meet and great me and my fur baby instantly loved her. She spoiled my baby with love and affection. She kept me updated daily. My house was immaculate upon return. She even washed sheets and put back in bed. Allyson is the best sitter I’ve had in a long time and a keeper! I honestly can’t say enough great things about her!”

“Megan is beyond amazing!! She’s watched our babies for the past 3 times we’ve gone out of town, and I’m able to actually enjoy my time away because I know they are in incredible hands. She sends us daily photos of them and loves our doodles as if they are her own. We love Megan so so much!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wood Valley Estates
Let me start this review of with saying this was our first time leaving our pup with someone else so it was nerve wracking. I knew instantly upon messaging Stephanie we found the right person. She has tons of excellent reviews and repeat customers for a reason. We will also be a repeat customer anytime we need someone to watch our prized possession. Stephanie came over a few days before for a meet and greet and I knew instantly we found the right person. When we met her she introduced herself but was so excited to see Geppetto (our pup) and it was genuine and I knew God put her in our life on purpose. She is kind, caring, very transparent and a good human. She sent us updates, pictures and ensured everything was in order upon arrival and leaving. If you need someone to watch your pet — this is it. I truly felt that our dog was cared for the same way we do. We could not have asked for a better first expierence.

Madeline is the BEST! The dogs felt so comfortable with her. She updated me with pictures, video, and status of the dogs. I appreciated her communication and how well she cared for our pups. I felt confident in leaving our dogs in her care. I highly recommend Madeline.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wood Valley Estates walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wood Valley Estates maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wood Valley Estates choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
