“First time having Rosie stay with our 2 dogs, and she was wonderful. She sent updates as well as photos. Both our dogs have their own issues. One is extremely fearful of storms, and unfortunately, there was a very bad storm that occurred while Rosie was sitting. She remained calm which in turn calmed Molly down eventually. Our other dog is a rescue and takes a while to warm up to new people. Rosie was able to get him to take his seizure meds twice a day and even slept on the bed with Rosie. By the final day he was allowing belly rubs!! Will definitely book Rosie again!”

About: I’ve taken care of all sorts of pets, big and small since I was about 11 years old. Are you looking for your dog/cat’s new best friend, I’m your girl! From long walks to playing fetch, and everything in between (bathing, feeding on time, bathroom time) I’m ready for it all! I’m not as familiar with caring for elderly pets or medication, but with a little instruction, I’m a fast learner! I’m currently working part time, so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pets! I’m mostly free the first half of the week (Monday to Wednesday) and weekends (Saturday and Sunday) at anytime, and Fridays after 3 pm. I’m a very patient person and am willing to fit whatever needs your pet requires. Schedules are not a problem for me, if your pet needs to use the bathroom at 6 am every morning, or food is served at 9 am, and goes on frequent walks, I’m very flexible.

About: I have been taking care of cats and dogs for a few years now. I’ve fostered cats and dogs as well! I have experience with all types of pets! I currently am going to Winona State University as a freshman. My schedule is pretty open. I’m fully open to figuring out a schedule but I will be part time! I live in the dorms currently so I can’t bring pets here. In the clients home I will always make sure the pet(s) are fed and have water (depending on the pet). And I will take them out as much as the client asks for!

“Morrigan was absolutely incredible with our dogs, Mabel and Lucy. We truly could not have asked for a better person to care for them while we were away. He went above and beyond to make sure they were happy, comfortable, and well cared for, and it was obvious that he genuinely cared about them. We felt completely at ease knowing Mabel and Lucy were in such good hands. Everything was handled perfectly, and we came home to two very happy dogs. We would absolutely trust Morrigan with them again and would recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for an attentive, dependable, and caring pet sitter. Truly a 10/10 experience!”

“A repeat experience with Ajia did not disappoint. While she was walking him, he had a minor accident that left a small cut. It could have happened to anyone. Ajia took it very seriously - called me immediately, sent pictures, treated the cut and made sure he was ok. She immediately reported it to Rover, per their guidelines. When I got home - it really appears to be just a surface cut. However, this experience gave me complete confidence that if anything serious were to happen, she is the right person to be able to address it in our absence. She is wonderful and will continue to be our #1 pick for our cranky old man!”

About: I have taken care of my two pit bulls since the start of high school. I love giving affection to them, including others I have met in person. I used to have a senior dog who had joint problems and needed help on the stairs, bed, and sofa. I also love meeting my friends’ pets and giving them the same affection as I do with my own pets. I do drop in visits, house sitting, and dog walking. I would love to give your fur babies a bunch of affection and care. I’ll make sure to update you regularly with pictures so you know that your pets are in safe hands. Your pets safety is my top priority. For dog walking, I’ll make sure they stay off the road when the pavement is too hot and/or a car is coming. I will also stay alert to my surroundings. I am unemployed, so I have plenty of time to take care of your dogs and/or cats! I will be available Sunday through Thursday. I'll do my best in following your schedule so your pets won't get stressed by any sudden changes. I'll make sure to ask any questions on how to take care of your dogs and cats so I won't make any needless mistakes. I will also send you updates of your pets by sending you photos and texts.

I can’t say enough great things about Bella. :)”

About: Hi! I'm Jade, an experienced animal caregiver who believes every pet deserves individual attention, patience, and care. 🐾 I don't believe pet care should be one-size-fits-all. Every animal has its own personality, routine, comfort level, and needs, and I take the time to learn what makes each pet feel safe and comfortable. I'm comfortable caring for dogs and a variety of small animals, including rats, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, fish, reptiles, and other companion animals. Please note: I do not offer in-home cat sitting in my own home. I do offer drop-in visits and house-sitting visits at your home, where I am happy to care for your cats and other pets while you're away. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, feeding, playtime, companionship, or someone to stay with them while you're away, I'll treat them with the same patience and care I would want for my own animals. I understand that leaving your pets with someone else can be stressful. My goal is to give you peace of mind by following your instructions carefully, maintaining your pets' normal routines as much as possible, and keeping you updated throughout their care. I'm dependable, patient, observant, and attentive to changes in an animal's behavior or routine. Your pets' safety and well-being come first. Have a pet that isn't a dog or cat? Ask me! I especially enjoy helping families who have animals that can be more difficult to find experienced care for. I'd love the opportunity to meet you and your pets and become someone you can trust whenever you need a helping hand! 🐶🐱🐭🐰🐹🦎🐦🐠🐾 cpr and heimlich trained I'm happiest when I'm spending time with 6 dogs at a time lol it's so much fun! I don't have space to take more than one large dog or 2 small dogs at a time but someday I will! I am working on getting fencing for my yard! I only let 1 dog out at a time. I follow owners feeding schedule. I chart every feeding, drink of water that i see, and every potty break. I send updates daily and am well educated on how to calm an anxious dog!

About: While I’m new to professional dog sitting, I’ve grown up with dogs and have helped friends and family care for their pets. My background as a caregiver for individuals with special needs, along with experience as a CNA and lifeguard, has taught me patience, responsibility, and how to manage complex care routines. I’m confident these skills will help me provide loving, attentive care to your furry family members! 🐾💕 I’m currently 18 and just moved to Lacrosse for college. I have class about 4 hours a day and can be with your dog for the rest of the day if needed! I prioritize both comfort and safety with my dog sitting. About: I am a Registered Nurse with a deep love for animals and extensive experience in specialized pet care. I currently volunteer at my local animal shelter, where I walk dogs, assist with basic training, and support rescue animals in need. Caring for these shelter animals, and working with pets on Rover, has become a meaningful way for me to channel my grief after my beloved 15-year-old rescue dog, Winnie, recently crossed the rainbow bridge. At home, I also share my life with a sweet, 4-year-old rescue cat named Chip. My background in nursing makes me highly comfortable administering medications and injections. Additionally, thanks to my many years of loving Winnie, I am no stranger to senior care, complex medical needs, or the gentle patience required for elderly pets. I have great flexibility throughout the week! I'm available most weekdays and weekends to help take your dog out or drop in to check on your kitty. Last-minute bookings are welcome, provided I have at least 24 hours' notice. While I don't offer boarding in my own home, I specialize in keeping your animals safe, happy, and comfortable in theirs. Whether it's a drop-in visit, a walk, or overnight house sitting, my priority is maintaining your pet's familiar environment to keep stress low. I am committed to building trust through reliable care and clear communication. For your peace of mind, I am fully trained to administer specialized care, including CPR, standard medications, and medical injections, ensuring your furry family members are always in safe hands.

FAQs for House Sitting - Witoka

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 140 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Witoka. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Witoka walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Witoka maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Witoka choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
