“Ellie had the best stay and did not want to leave! Michele provided exceptional care, did a fantastic job communicating and sent adorable picture updates. We felt like she was staying with a close family friend.”

“Leaving our dog, Mazie with Sandee gives us total peace of mind. She is incredibly reliable and communicative, sending us multiple updates and photos daily. It is comforting to see how happy and relaxed Mazie is in her care. We always return to a happy, healthy dog and feel completely confident that everything is taken care of. We're very grateful that we have found her and highly recommend her to anyone who needs a trustworthy and experienced sitter.”

“Teresa is absolutely AMAZING! She was so kind and understanding with our rambunctious pups! I worried the entire time we were gone if they'd be on their best behavior but Teresa assured me everything would be and was okay and that she's able to handle it all. I have been looking for someone like her for a very long time and she is a Godsend!”

About: I am a proud pup and kitty parent. I have been taking care of pets professionally sine 2005. I provide daily dog walking, doggie boarding and kitty pet sitting services in the Milton area. Fabulous references to attest to my quality care. Contact me for a free consult. I look forward to adding you to the Animal Lovers family! I accept dogs that are friendly to all dogs and humans. No aggressive behaviors. I also can only accept potty trained dogs. I can administer medications and only work outside the home part-time so can easily provide potty breaks and walks every 4 hours. My dog Benny is very friendly and loves doggie company! I am available for daily dog walking Monday thru Friday and petsitting 7 days per week. I am available for boarding as schedule permits as I only take 1 dog, dog family, at a time. I have a home in Milton with a 6 foot privacy fence. I have 1 pup, a Yorkie poo who is used to welcoming fun pup friends. I am never out of my home more than 4 hours when I have pup boarders. Your pup(s) is my priority and treated like a member of my family.
“jermaine was AWESOME especially me being last minute with my request. As fast as the world is moving and advancing going on an app and having someone dog sit your dog i was so skeptical! but jermaine was responsive to all my text and calls and ensured me with photos that my boy was ok which was a huge relief . Most definitely will be using jermaine again. !!”

“Susan and Bob were amazing hosts! I live in NJ but my son had a weekend baseball tournament in Delaware. Since I had trouble finding a local sitter in my area, I figured I would find someone in Delaware close to my son’s tournament. Susan and Bob were very welcoming, accommodating, and took wonderful care of our 15 year-old furry family member. They were very communicative, sending texts and pictures to update us on how he was doing. I felt very comfortable leaving our beloved dog knowing he was in great hands with experienced and caring hosts. I highly recommend them! Thanks again for providing a home away from home for Jazzy! -Daffney and Chad”

About: If your furbaby desires love and affection then we are it! I have to small children ages 9yrs old that love animals just as much. Plenty of snuggles to give as well as walks and playtime 🐶 I am currently at home and have time to provide the attention and needs that your furbaby requires. During the day my kids will be in school but after school, if your little one loves attention, playtime or a lap to snuggle on; we have you covered. I have to cats, one afraid of her own shadow and will sneak in to visit once in a while where the other cat is just curious and wants a friend. Both friendly and loving.

About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I've never been without a pet, so caring for them is second nature. For many years I also volunteered as a foster, which taught me how to help nervous, shy, or recovering animals settle in and feel safe. Professionally, I'm a Registered Nurse. That means I'm comfortable giving oral medications, sticking to precise feeding and medication schedules, and noticing subtle changes in behavior, appetite, or energy that could signal a problem. Senior pets, special-needs pets, and animals recovering from surgery are in especially good hands with me. You'll get detailed updates and photos, and I'll follow your routine exactly as you'd do it yourself. My goal is simple: your pet stays calm and comfortable, and you get real peace of mind. I run my own care consulting business, so I have flexibility in my day and can plan visits around your pet's routine rather than squeezing them in. I keep a structured, organized schedule — a habit from nursing — so feedings, walks, and medications happen on time, every time. I'll confirm availability before each booking so I can give your pet my full attention. Your pet's safety is my top priority. My home has a fully fenced-in yard, so dogs can play, explore, and take potty breaks securely without ever being off-leash in an open area. I share my home with Murphy, my well-trained Goldendoodle. He's gentle and submissive, which makes him an easygoing companion for visiting dogs, including shy or nervous ones. He also has his own crate, so I can give each pet individual time and attention and keep things calm when a guest needs space.
“Kara and her husband was great with Iceland, she sent photos and he looked like he had a great time!! Icelands pretty energetic so it was nice to see someone else could handle him lol. 10/10”

“Samantha took great care of my two labradoodles . She sent pictures of them everyday which I loved. I could tell they were having a blast playing with her dogs. Huge fenced in area for playtime”

About: Since I was a baby there has always been a pet in the house. I currently own a dog and a cat and my parents still have two cats and 3 dogs. I work full time as a teacher in MD, but have availability every weekend / holidays and I am available after 5:30 during the week! I currently have a dog and cat living with me and they are free to roam where they pleases and I monitor their food and water, take my dog out every few hours, play with lots of toys, go on lots of walks, and give them lots of cuddles.

About: I’ve had animals all my life. From dogs to cats to exotics. My pathway in school was for animal science which I have my certification from that class. I also have worked at a vet before so I would say I definitely have some experience! Right now I mostly work from home so I’m pretty flexible. Whether that be for boarding or potty breaks I can pretty much make anything work. I have a section of my yard fenced off so they can just go out and potty but also love to take them for walks in my neighborhood! If they get along with other dogs great! If not I can manage to keep everyone separate if boarding is preferred at my house.
“AMAZING! Lacey absolutely loved being with Marvina and the entire group of new best friends! She played so hard every day that she literally collapsed every night and slept like a rock! It's so good to have her socialize with so many different types of animals! She doesn't even get opportunities to socialize with just dogs. BEST medicine ever. Marvina is an amazing individual. I don't know how she does it with the entire group of pets she has - but she always looks like it is just another day in paradise! What a wonderful woman. She loves our dog and treats her like one of the family. I can't imagine taking Lacey anywhere else!”

“Kate was wonderful! She kept us updated with photos of Scally while she was there and our dog looked like she was having a great time at her home and on their beach walks. Kate was very accommodating as we wanted to take our dog with us during part of the day and she was easy to work with to coordinate timing on when we would pick up and drop off our dog. Thanks so much Kate!”

“I had to go to a conference. Elizabeth took excellent care of Shelby. She provided pictures and updates while I was gone. Elizabeth was also flexible with the pick up time when my flights were delayed, which caused me to get home much later than expected.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Wisseman Acres
10/10 recommend booking Yinali to care for your dog! She was such a joy to work with, from our initial communication on Rover, to the meet-and-greet, to all the thoughtful updates while our dog was staying with her and her husband. Our dog has special needs and uses a wheelchair, which can understandably make some sitters hesitant (and makes it hard for us to find him trustworthy care), but Yinali was incredibly accommodating and attentive to his needs. I knew right away that he was in great hands, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We would 100% book with Yinali again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Wisseman Acres home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Wisseman Acres.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Wisseman Acres sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in DE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
