“Our fur baby enjoyed his stay, he got lots of playtime and attention with Meaghan and her kiddos❤️ she kept in touch with pics and videos and eased all my anxiety with leaving him while on vacation,we highly recommend and will be using her in the near future!”

“Steven has taken great care of our dogs on a few separate occasions now. He sends daily photos and updates which our family loves to see when we are away. We are thankful to have found him!”

“Kelsey and her family were so great watching our dog during our extended vacation! Our dog came home happy and exhausted! They were very communicative throughout the stay and sent pictures. They also promptly dropped off and picked up our dog to the minute they said they would. Would definitely trust and leave our dog with Kelsey again!”

“Dalia is outstanding and our go-to sitter in town. She lovingly cared for our two girls and they feel at home with her. Dalia’s experience and personal care is apparent in the way she handles our pups. She gave us great peace of mind while we were away. Can’t rate her high enough!”

“Kristen did a wonderful job taking care of Pierre. She kept us up to date on his care and status, plus provided excellent photos. I highly recommend Kristen and will use her services again.”

“Deborah was beyond phenomenal. I received multiple pictures and detailed updates every day my sweet Elle was away from home. I felt so relieved and there was no stress at all with Elle in her care. She is attentive to my dog and her dogs playing and is very consistent with commands when feeding and playing. She even brought the pups inside for rest breaks so they wouldn’t overheat. I will book every time I can with Deborah. 6 out of 5 stars.”
“I highly recommend Sean and Dianna! I left 2 dogs with them for 7 days. I was updated daily with pictures and videos. I was confident leaving my pups with them for the entire week. I will be referring everyone looking for dog sitting to them 😊”

About: I grew up with dogs and cared for my own dog for about 15 years. I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, potty routines, and everyday care. Your pup will get plenty of attention, affection, and companionship in a calm, loving home. I’m also happy to send photo updates while you’re away. I’m home most of the day, so I can give dogs plenty of attention, regular potty breaks, playtime, and walks during cooler morning and evening hours. I provide a calm, clean, and comfortable home where dogs can relax and feel safe. I follow each owner’s feeding, potty, walking, and sleeping routines carefully.
“Jennifer was an excellent sitter for Charlie! She gave daily updates and pictures as to what he was up to and how he was behaving with the other dogs. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone who needs someone to watch their dogs for an extended amount of time!”

“Our Tali was taken amazing care of while we were on vacation! We were nervous about leaving her, as she is still a puppy - but we had nothing at all to worry about while we were gone! We received updates, videos, and pictures throughout our trip so we rested easy knowing Tali was being loved, cared for, and taken care of. She was kept on her schedule and given so much love and care. Honestly just above and beyond. We will definitely be booking again!”

About: I’ve kept my grand dogs for years and have stayed overnight for several friends on multiple occasions . I have references that talk and bark 😁 I am retired so my schedule is very flexible. I can stay overnight and am usually available on weekends with advance notice. I love snuggles! I ask for an idea of what their day is like and try to follow it as much as possible. I have kept all ages and don’t mind giving medicine or potty training. I live going on walks also!
“Anniyah kept PePe for seven and she was great. She sent daily updates along with videos which helped with MY separation anxiety (lol). I was so happy to see PePe when I picked him up because Anniyah actually had him walking with his leash, which was something I had not been able to accomplish. So, would I rebook Anniyah again, most definitely!”

“Jamie did so great with my girl! She was so accommodating and shared several pictures while I was gone. I could tell my Charley girl had the best time with her and was well taken care of :)”

“Connie was the best! Casper enjoyed playing with her fur babies! She even got him off the puppy pads and do his business outside. She is warm and friendly and made me feel that Casper will be cared for!”

“Benjamin and his dad did a great job taking care of our baby for two weeks. We had to leave him last minute while he wasn’t feeling his best, and they made sure he got his medication and came back home healthy, happy, and full of energy. It was clear he was well cared for and loved during his stay. The only downside was communication. We didn’t get daily updates or pictures and only received check-ins when we reached out to ask. Also, while the booking was under Benjamin’s name, we only interacted with his dad, who handled drop-off and pick-up. Overall, we really appreciate the great care they gave him, and we’d recommend them for their kindness and attention to pets. With more consistent communication, it would’ve been a perfect experience.”

“My old girl was WELL taken care of during her time with this family. The pics made me happy and when she was returned to us she was calm. Always a good sign. Thank you!”
“Sarah was fantastic! The atmosphere at their home and with their dog Odin was perfect for my pup. Sarah sent pics throughout each day and even a video and was always available. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs a sitter for their pets.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Winton home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Winton.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Winton sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
