“I feel like we picked a wonderful and trustworthy person to house sit for us. She was on time, communicated with us during her stay and is just a really nice peron. We are repeat customers!”

About: I've had dogs for the last 40 years, and before. There are 3 in my home now. One has been with me and my children for 14 years, one for 8, and one is a new arrival at Christmas. I'm retired but still work about 10 hours a week. My schedule is extremely flexible and I can be available most any time to care for your pet's needs. My 3 dogs go out the back door into the fenced-in back yard. They are friendly and get daily walks in my neighborhood. Your dog can be crated too, if necessary.
“Lauren was so great with our pups! She was able to help us on super short notice and still made time to come over a day prior for a meet and greet. She was punctual and provided pictures at each drop in. Would absolutely recommend her and plan to use her again!”

“Absolutely amazing! I’m very happy with how well my animals were taken care of and how she went over and beyond to make sure that they were. I’ll definitely be rebooking her to watch my pets the next time!!”

About: Hey, I’m Aubree! I am a life long animal lover with lots of experience caring for all different types of animals. These pets have ranged from dogs and cats to even goats, horses and other farm animals. I am a stay at home mom and like to pet sit in my free time. I currently have 2 dogs, 2 goats, and a horse of my own so I definitely understand the care and love it takes to make them happy. My favorite thing about animals is how individual they are and how much personality each pet has. I would love the opportunity to be able to care for your pet. Please message with any questions or if you are interested in having me care for your pet. I am currently a stay at home mom so my schedule is pretty flexible! It allows me to be available for pet care all throughout the day. During meet and greets, I always like to discuss the best ways to interact with your pets! Each animal is so individual so it allows me to care for them in the best way possible.

I really appreciate you for taking the time to look over my profile and considering me to take care of your pet. Thank you! This is currently my full time job so I will have time any time of the day before 4 to take care of your fur baby’s! I feed my dogs twice a day walk them for about 3 miles to get their exercise in. These dogs are my children so I love them very much and want them to live the best life that they can. And I will take care of your baby’s as my own!
“Angie took incredible care of all of our pets (3 dogs and 2 cats) and showed so much patience and kindness while they were getting comfortable with her. Couldn’t be more thankful towards Angie as she accommodated our last minute request. She truly took the time to earn their trust, which meant everything to us. We felt completely at ease knowing they were in such caring and capable hands. Communication was great, and it was clear our pets were well cared for and happy. We would absolutely recommend her and will 100% book again!”

About: I have taken care of animals my whole life, having 9 pet dogs, 2 pet cats, 4 ducks, and 4 chickens. I love all animals and caring for them. I am a college soccer player so I love to be active, I am always taking my dogs for runs and walks! I would love to help out anyone in need of someone to watch their sweet pets! When I am home from school, (Dec/Jan/May/June/July) I am practically on my own schedule. I train soccer and workout on my own time, so during these months I am very available! Previously, when I am taking care of a pet at a client’s home I will ask the owner what they typically do for their pets during the day and try to replicate that as best as I can for the pets!

I am most available on the Friday and Saturday ! On Sundays I have a hectic schedule. About: I’ve grown up with dogs all throughout my life. I’ve owned a dog for about 4 and a half years now. I’ve also owned two cats but was slightly allergic, but I am more than willing to take care of them too. Animals have had such a huge impact on my life. I work full time right now but am free most evenings and weekends! I would love to help anyone out that needs help caring for their pet because I’ve been in that situation myself. I have a fenced in yard and I don’t crate my dog. I am willing to crate my client’s dog if needed, walk them, or bathe them too!
About: I have experience taking care of both dogs and cats in a responsible and consistent way from a young age. My best experience is from my pet Louise who is a pit mix, I learned a lot from this when it comes to handling different behaviors and needs as this was the first animal that was my own and not a family dog. I grew up around both big and small dogs, so I’m very comfortable with all breeds and sizes. I’m also a very active person, so I can keep up with walks, playtime, and outdoor exercise without any issue. I make sure dogs are fed on time and get the attention and structure they need. Overall, I’m reliable, attentive, and I treat every pet like they’re my own. Im currently working at a job with flexible scheduling. I have a pretty free schedule especially in the mornings and after 1:30pm. I’m off on weekends. Safety, trust, and environment are a big part of how I care for dogs. I always make sure I understand their routine and any boundaries before anything else, so they feel secure with me. I stay aware on walks, keep them on safe routes, and watch their body language so nothing gets out of control. I’ve grown up around dogs so I’m comfortable handling different temperaments, and energy levels. Building trust is important to me, so I stay calm, consistent, and patient with them instead of rushing anything. I also make sure their environment feels stable, clean, comfortable, and familiar so they’re not stressed while their owners are away. I pay attention to details like doors, food, water, and anything they could get into just to keep everything safe. Overall, I treat every dog like they’re my responsibility and make sure they feel secure, understood, and cared for.
“Ashley is a godsend. I know when I’m away, my kitty cats are in great hands. I’m always thrilled when Ashley is available to cat sit for me. She’s the ultimate professional…on the ball and responsive.”

About: I have been taking care of pets since I was 14. I care for friends and family pets by feeding, walking, and taking them outside when needed. I have always enjoyed caring for pets and making sure they are safe. I am currently taking a break from college until I go back to Trade School. I have my own transportation and also have plenty of experience in pet care routines. I currently have a 13-year-old miniature schnauzer that requires diaper changes as needed and a cockatiel parrot that is not just a pet but a companion, and we all know they require a lot of attention. In our household, we make sure that our companions and pets have all the love and attention they need daily. Even though I cannot bring a pet into my home I am always available to go for your needs and pet care sitting as many times a day as needed in your home. I also require a meet and greet for the owner to go over the instructions with me and cater to your fur baby.

About: I've been providing large animal care for over eight years. I have cared for many dogs, cats, horses, and chickens. I currently have a horse of my own, as well as a three year old bearded dragon. I also had my own chickens for over ten years. Pet care brings me great joy, and I love getting to know the fur babies that I am lucky enough to care for. I am a college student, but am now on summer break. I currently have extensive availability, and am flexible with dates and times. I will still be available once classes begin, but with changes depending on my schedule. I am happy to provide care and attention to pets who are highly social, but also work well with those who prefer a bit of distance or may be more uncomfortable around strangers. I take slow steps to gain the trust of new animals, and make sure they can clearly understand my intentions in order to prevent startling them. I tend to ask owners plently of questions to be sure the animal's specific needs are met to the best of my ability. I am happy to send plently of pictures and updates throughout my time caring for your critters!
About: My family were presidents of a border collie rescue. I've had over a thousand dog of all shapes and sizes come through my home and currently I own one dog and my parents own 3 dogs, 4 bunnies, and many reptiles. I've had animals in my life all my life I own a dog. So pet care is a daily task of my life. I love taking my dog to the park and long hikes and I've always had a real love for animals as a whole. My dog is super alllergenic so I've had dogs that require medications every few hours. I would say being on top of meds and consistency is always a top goal. Making sure they aren't having symptoms and daily exercise and play time is a priority as just like us dogs can become depressed cooped up. I have a large suv so taking dogs on rides of any size or multiple is no issue for me. hiking and exploring is always a fun time for me and my puppy and I hope to share it with yours.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
