“Maverick enjoyed his time so much he looked at me like I had kidnapped him the entire ride home. It was wonderful to know he was in good hands and we had one less thing to worry about while we were away.”

“My pups had a great stay with them and their 2 little dogs. I felt very safe leaving them there. They sent pictures throughout their stay to assure me they were doing well. They keep the dogs secured on their family room, which is nice, cozy, and safe. I definitely recommend them.”

“Laura was great. She took wonderful care of our sometimes difficult pup and he loved being there with her and her pup Eugene. We’re going away for 10 nights soon and Laura is our first choice of sitters. We definitely recommend her to anyone needing a caring, supportive sitter in their home!”

“Our first experience with Alyssa and Josh was excellent from start to finish. They were friendly, welcoming, and made us feel comfortable the moment we arrived. Alyssa was confident and relaxed around a large dog, which immediately put our minds at ease. It was obvious she has experience with dogs and genuinely enjoys being around them. When we picked Kable up, he was happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for. As any dog owner knows, that's the best indication of a great dog sitter. We could tell he received plenty of attention and was treated like part of the family while he was there. We wouldn't hesitate to leave Kable with Alyssa and Josh again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring dog sitters.”

“Everything went well with my dog's overnight stay. She got her walks and Sandra communicated with me throughout her stay with photos. Much appreciated Sandra! Hope to use your services again. Lisa H.”

“Andres is so good with our pups. Such an easy going and relaxed atmosphere. We were so lucky Andres had room for us! Jupiter and Apollo warmed up to him immediately. Dogs know a good guy when they see one!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Aaron took such great care of Rufus while we were away. He kept us updated with lots of photos and great communication throughout the week. We really appreciated the extra attention to his comfort and well-being. Rufus clearly loved his stay and honestly didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend!”

“I can’t recommend Alexandra enough! She has been taking care of my dog, Milo, for quite some time now, and I always have complete peace of mind knowing he’s in her care. She and family truly treat Milo like he’s their own. He’s always so well cared for, loved, and honestly spoiled in the best way possible. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about the animals she watches, and it shows in everything she does. She’s reliable, kind, attentive, and always keeps me updated, which means so much. Milo is always happy to see her, and that says it all. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your pet like family, she’s the one. I wholeheartedly recommend her!”

“Dolly and her three boys took exceptional care of Parker. She has three boys and a large fencing backyard that allowed him to play amd explore in a safe environment. When we arrived, parker was immediately snatched up by her by one of her two younger sons who promptly began playing with him, pampering him and loving him. Dolly said her sons even “argued” over whose bed he would sleep in. Parker came back a happy camper and made three great buddies along the way. Additionally, Dolly kept constant contact with me and sent pictures over the course of the two days. I would highly recommend this wonderful family to look after your pet whenever you need someone to watch them.”

“Margaret took good care of our dog, Luna, while we were out of town. She was very easy to work with. We also really appreciated her flexibility with the pickup time, which made our travel plans much easier. We felt very comfortable knowing Luna was in good hands.”

“Neetika took very good care of our puppy for a week while we were on vacation. The sending of daily updates and photos was so appreciated, allowing us to relax and enjoy our time away without worry. I would recommend Neetika, she has a loving family and her own pup who I know our Khloe enjoyed playing with in-between napping.”

“Olivia took care of our anxious dog for a few days while we were out of town. Olivia gave her a place to relax on her own and took great care of her. She was very communicative and provided regular updates. If your dog is good with other dogs, Olivia is a great sitter!”

“What a wonderful, stress-free experience we had with LaToya! Our sweet little dog is a bit on the anxious side, she's almost 11, but still becomes pretty nervous on the way to the groomer and vet. She's slow to warm up to new people, but surprisingly, she immediately took to LaToya! This literally has never happened, so I knew right away that it was a match made in heaven! LaToya was incredibly responsive, shared pics daily and provided updates about our little one's adjustment process and her week. Leaving our dog with LaToya felt like leaving her with family. We're grateful for that and excited to now have a very comfortable option for her new home away from home when needed. FIVE PLUS stars for sure! Definitely intend to use LaToya's services again and I highly recommend her without reservation! You will not be disappointed! Thank you LaToya!”

“Patty is the absolute best! She took such great care of my dog Pippa for an extended stay. She was so kind and communicative. She treated my little girl like she was her own. She and her husband are truly dog whisperers.”

“Donte was great with my pup! I was a little nervous to take him to a new sitter for the first time, but the second I met Donte and saw him interacting with my dog all those nerves went away. He, miraculously even got my dog who has a fear of crates to sleep in one! I was blown away. Would definitely recommend.”

“Amazing! Erin was exactly the perfect person for watching our Bella. Just like a fish to the water, Bella was made comfortable and loved. I can’t say enough about how happy we are and looking forward to the next chance to spend time at Erin’s lovely home for our sweet fur baby.”

About: We brought home our 1st puppy when our eldest daughter was 8 weeks old. Everything since then has been easy! Currently have an 8yr old Golden Retriever with a fenced in backyard. Each of our grown children took in a dog or puppy once they had their own homes. We have had cats, hamsters, fish, and guinea pigs over the years. I'm recently semi-retired and my daughters have used Rover for their dogs in far away states. I thought it would be a nice way to give our dog a playmate every once in a while. We have a large fenced in yard which your dog can run around or hangout with our dog if they'd like. Our house is split level so there could be 6 stairs at time to go up & down. I love to walk our dog & listen to books or podcasts.
“Danita and her family were amazing with our dog Finley. She updated us frequently and sent photos of our dog settling in and getting comfortable. I knew our dog was in good hands, was well taken care of, and got plenty of walks and belly rubs. I would 100% recommend Danita to care for your dog!”

“I was very happy with Mac's stay with Laurel. I had shared with her that Mac loves going on walks and she took him for two long walks. She shared with me how he was doing over the course of the day. I would use Laurel again without hesitation.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Willowdale home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Willowdale.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Willowdale sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
