“Miguel took the time to listen about Hudson’s needs during his day. They took pictures every day and sent me videos. They were great. He was in a good environment and his home is definitely dog friendly. I would recommend them anytime. I’ll be using them again in the near future.”

“Mich was awesome! Our dog felt welcomed and comfortable during her stay. Mich’s dog, Milo, was a good companion/ host. Great back yard. Mich sent pictures and regular updates. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.”

“Roscoe had the best time playing with friends. He was so well taken care of. I received so many pictures and videos. Raye is awesome and Roscoe was in great hands.”

“This was our first time leaving Niko overnight with someone else, and I can confidently say he had a fantastic time! Kendra sent us regular photos and updates throughout the day, which really put my mind at ease. We're so grateful to have found her, and we’ll definitely be using her services again!! 🐶❤️”

“Aaren and Jordan are absolutely amazing, phenomenal pet sitters! From the moment I left Arya in their care, I knew she was in loving and patient hands. They treated her like family, and that meant everything to me while I was away. Their communication was top-tier—they kept me updated consistently with messages and check-ins, which gave me so much peace of mind. On top of that, they were incredibly flexible and accommodating, making the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Arya truly found her second home with them, and there’s no doubt they are now her permanent sitters. I appreciate them more than words can express and can’t thank them enough for the love and care they showed my big girl. 💕🐾”

“Yolanda is an awesome Sitter! She kept my doggy Chi Chi for about four days. I was really worried about leaving her with anyone, but Yolanda immediately eased my fear. We constantly communicate it during my trip and she sent pictures of Chi Chi every day. She was very well taken care of and very happy. Thank you so much for taking good care of my fur baby! You are my permanent pet sitter from now on!”

“We had an amazing experience boarding our dog with Deven and Tyreek from start to finish! They treated Riot just like their own; he was happy, comfortable and loved! Their communication was excellent, especially the frequent updates they sent with pictures and videos to show us how much fun Riot was having. We (Riot included) are grateful for the care they provided and would absolutely book them again in the future!!”

“Le’Quitta was absolutely wonderful with Honey! From the very beginning, she was thoughtful and communicative. We did a meet-and-greet beforehand, and she even brought one of her dogs to make sure Honey would be comfortable since she can be a little reactive around other dogs. Just before our trip, Honey unexpectedly needed stitches and had to wear a cone while taking medication every 12 hours. Le’Quitta didn’t hesitate—she happily took on the extra care, administered Honey’s medications, and gave us complete peace of mind so we could still enjoy our weekend away. Throughout Honey’s stay, Le’Quitta sent frequent updates and photos, and it was obvious Honey was having the best time playing with the other dogs. She even had her first positive introduction to a cat! Every picture showed a happy, smiling dog who was clearly loved and well cared for. I’m so grateful for Le’Quitta flexibility, communication, and genuine care for Honey. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat their dog like family.”

About: I am new to Richmond and looking to explore with my pup, Rubens. He has a lot of energy and loves to play with other dogs. I am comfortable with dogs of all breeds, ages, and energy levels. Would love for my dog to have a play mate during the day. Using Rover to keep a routine and explore Richmond while I look for a full time position. I am currently new to Richmond and in between jobs. I walk my dog anywhere from 5-12x a day from 15-75 minutes (depending on weather, need to get out of the house, etc.). My job right now is to enjoy the outdoors with my dog and yours! Rubens and I welcome all other dogs as family! I live in a first floor apt with a small fenced backyard (only for small dogs). There is a hallway that runs from the front door to the back yard area, which is where Rubens likes to do zoomies or be a watch guard dog for the doors. As far as behaviors, Rubens is allowed on my furniture and has a small basket of toys that he shares. Treats are only during training and water is down at all times. We are pretty flexible, but can also set rules per your request to stay on your schedule/routine.
“Chris was absolutely phenomenal with my two boys. The attention Chris and his daughter gave to them was great-- from walks, cuddles, to car rides, they had a blast during their stay. Am so grateful to have found such an excellent place for the boys when I am away. Highly recommend Chris for peace of mind care of your dogs!”

“Melissa was absolutely wonderful with my dog. She was excellent with the communication and pictures and I felt so good to see my dog happy while I was out of town taking care of business. Melissa will forever be my dog sitter for my pup.”

“Amanda was the greatest puppy sitter while we were out of town for a week. We looked forward to her texts with photos and videos every day. My 2 had a great time with her 2 ❤️ We will definitely have Amanda watch our babies again. Thank you!!”

“Tino and Coco love to visit Cindy, her family and her dogs. They get excited when we pull into her neighborhood. I am grateful that she always seems to be available when we need her.”

“I was able to enjoy a glorious long weekend because I knew my two dogs were happy and spoiled with Emily. Both my dogs (age 7 & 6) had NEVER been boarded or kenneled before, so I was nervous that they'd be anxious and upset, but they came home absolutely happy and contented after staying with her. She was kind enough to provide twice-daily feedback about their walks, sleep schedule, and general wellbeing, and that helped me relax and enjoy myself. My dogs sleep on the bed at home, and I chose Emily because she was going to be with them at night and because she has so many repeat customers; that tells me all I need to know! Emily is worth her weight in gold. Luka and Teddy had a safe and happy get-away of their own. Thanks so much, Emily!”

“Great sitter, gave me updates whenever I asked for them and followed everything I asked her to do for my cat. Made sure my cat was safe with her children and other pets and played with him, also I didn’t leave enough food so she gave my cat some of her cats food, overall great experience!”

“They were absolutely wonderful! It was my first time ever leaving my babies with strangers so I was scared. They made me feel at ease and my babies lived them! Would give more stars and a huge tip if I could. I will absolutely recommend them and use them in the future! Thank you both!!”

We trust Shay and Jake to always take good care of our two little dogs. This time it was a week long stay, and the dogs are very happy when we picked them up. Like a vacation destination for the dogs. No problems at all. We will use them again for sure. Thank you Shay and Jake and family!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yolanda was absolutely wonderful with my Blue! She provided excellent care, was very communicative, and responded quickly whenever I reached out. I especially appreciated the pictures and videos she shared throughout his stay—it gave me such peace of mind knowing he was happy and well cared for. Awesome sitter! I will definitely keep Yolanda as my go-to provider whenever she’s available. Highly recommend! 🐾💙

I was nervous leaving Chachi for so long, but Callie and Barry accepted Chachi like family! 💜 Communication and photos were frequently sent and it reassured me that Chichi was where he was meant to be. I’ll definitely be seeking out Callie for future stays! 💜 Thank you SO Much!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Williamson Farms home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Williamson Farms.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Williamson Farms sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
