About: Growing up with pets, I learned at a very young age, that our family dog did not like being ridden like a horse! While I've been around dogs all my life, most of my experience has been acquired during my adult years. I (Laura) am a freelancing Designer, and my husband (Lawrence) is a retired Registered Nurse. Together we have many years of experience raising our own family dogs: First we had a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, then two Yorkshire Terrier's, and currently a Pomeranian mix... ...We also raised a couple of boys, and their motley-menagerie of creatures. I think my heart doubled in size, when I realized I could combine two of my favorite passion's; hanging out with furry little Lapdogs, and creating miniature fashion's for Sport! I also really enjoy doing 'Street' photography of doggies and their humans. Dogs bring us so much joy, we just love making a fuss over them! We live near Downtown Cottage Grove, in one of it's walkable historic neighborhoods. Ours is a child-free home, offering 'Boarding' and 'Daycare' services--hosting only small lap-size dogs up to 18 lbs. Additionally, we also do 'Drop-in' visits in 'your' home for small and medium size dogs. Our fully-fenced backyard features a variety of tree's and flower gardens, with lots of room to romp and play. It's complete with a covered patio that provides protection from rain or sun year around. Most importantly, we want you to feel worry-free, while we keep your doggie safe and happy! We are available full-time to provide pet care. Occasionally, I freelance from home--where I make and sell custom-fit dog wear, including alterations on existing doggie wearables. My husband is retired, so we have very flexible schedules to accommodate and host our Lapdog friends. We can host up to three Lapdogs per day/night. We also can do 'drop-in' visits to your home, for both small and medium size dogs. Well, around here, it's safety first! We host only Lap-size dogs up to 18 lbs. (Also, we only take small breed puppies.) Ours is a child-free home, with a fully-fenced backyard. We can host up to three dogs per day/night. I always sleep in the same room with our visiting doggies--either on our comfy sofas, or our king sized bed. My husband is a retired Registered Nurse. Please be mindful that visiting dogs need to be current with vaccines, flea & tick prevention, and an identity tag. We also have zoned heating and air conditioning throughout our house. There's several doggie-beds, toys, and crate (if requested) or feel free to provide your own. Also, we want to know about anything you think would be helpful in making your Doggie's visit a successful stay. We offer lots of love, cuddles, and belly rubs!

About: I recently trained my high energy border collie mix puppy and although he’s still a teenager, he’s turned out to be a calm, caring, and gentle pup. Most of my pet sitting care has been done for cats, but I have house sat for a family with a Newfoundland, so I have experience with large breeds. I also have cared for a smaller dog that has OCD and separation anxiety. Thanks to the research and dedication that went into puppy training, I’m well aware of what their body language is signaling, and how to adapt according to what they’re feeling. I work from home, so my schedule is flexible. My weekends are pretty flexible as well. Most of my plans are in the evenings (if I do have plans). I give my pets a predictable routine. The cats need a lot of attention as they’re very social. I take my pup to the dog park every couple of days, but I also tire him out through walks, herding games, and mental stimulation.

About: I am retired, ex professional, experienced in animal care, domestic, horses and exotic animals. I have done pet and house sitting in France and in the usa. I have excellent references on my website. I can give oral medication, puppies will go out every 2 hours. I have an adorable poodle who will love playing with your puppy, she is like a mother to puppies. I used to do dog rescue while living in France, and placed all dogs saved in very good homes, this was my main concern. I can read dogs body language, and dealt with traumatized dogs, among them my silver poodle, who was very traumatized by his past. I do like old dogs and have adopted some in the past. If a dog swallow something he should not have, I know how to make them throw up. I am retired, as a parent of 2 purbred miniature poodles, I spend most of my time at home, and take them out reguarly. When I have to go out, I am never gone long. I give a lots of attention to my dogs and dogs I sit. I will give the same care to your dogs and if I take them on a walk, will never let them approach a dog I don't know. the yard is fenced but will always go outside with the dogs and will take them on a leash when it's dark. I live outside cottage grove, I am very protective of my own dogs, will be with yours, too.

The thing about Journey that I am most appreciative of is that she has Fear Free certification. She showed in all her communication with me that she understood Guinness’s needs through his body language and was respectful of his boundaries (however long they lasted, apparently he got pretty cuddly!). I will definitely be bringing Guinness back for boarding, daycare, and probably grooming too. I can’t express how grateful I am to imagine being able to board Guinness and therefore travel again! About: I usually take myself for a walk in the morning and afternoon, let me take your precious pooch along with me! Big dogs have always been a large part of my life. I grew up with a Newfoundland Retriever mutt and my most recent dog was a lab mix. I spend my Sundays at college walking dogs at the local humane society. I am comfortable with all breeds and have experience with dogs that have health issues. I currently work from home Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with lots of weekend availability. I would love to take your dog for a walk in both the morning and afternoon! I am extremely gentle with every dog I encounter, but know how to assert myself as the alpha when walking them. I had to go through special training through the Humane Society to walk dogs from all types of backgrounds.

About: I'm a mature educated adult allowed by my animals to stay in their home. I've cared for dogs and cats my whole life. With a fenced yard, dog door that leads to an enclosed outdoor space (catio with small sized dog door,) and little dogs and cats living here- your safe & friendly pet will love playing all day. I work from home and keep a close eye on the pack with frequent play breaks. No kids, no distractions. I'm 3 minutes from my vet, in case of an emergency. I am comfortable and familiar with giving meds. I love animals of all ages, and senior pets are my soft spot. I have a guest room that can be used for privacy if your pet prefers their space from other animals. I'll sleep in there and make sure they are kept company. I've been giving medicine to dogs and cats twice a day for 10+ years. You can trust me to follow through with medical needs. Water gets refilled daily and stainless steel bowls keep water clean. Dogs can run around in the securely fenced yard and let themselves out through the dog door to the enclosed catio at their leisure. My yard has space for dogs to play. No chemicals are used on plants or yard. Your sweet and safe animals are welcome here, and will be safe with my sweet and playful cats and little dogs.

About: I grew up working at my family’s dog grooming shop. I have seen many breeds and personalities in high stress situations. I have volunteered at the humane society and have taken behavioral dog classes. I have spent years working on my relationship with dogs and understanding them and myself. I’m currently in school Monday-Thursday. I am very communicative about my availability. I am also pretty open due to not working. My daily and weekly routine is mostly based on your needs. I have 2 cats in my apartment so I prefer pets who are socialized if they are coming to my home. I would give the pet their food to your schedule and amount. I am able and good at helping to administer medications, if needed. I can take them on walks. I’m pretty flexible with adapting to whatever is needed.

They were super attentive with my little spoiled brat (and I say that with love 😄). He was always wagging his butt and happy to go back, which says it all. I really appreciated how they noticed he was picky with food—he wouldn’t eat there, but they still checked in and made sure I knew. He had plenty of playtime and always came home happy and tired, which is a win in my book! I didn’t want him going on walks because of his reactivity to cars, and they totally respected that—he got plenty of backyard play instead. Bonus points for being flexible with my chaotic work schedule. Highly recommend! 🐾”
