About: I have taken care of dogs and cats all shapes and sizes. I’ve taken care of chickens, goats, pigs, hedgehogs, and turtles. I have taken care of dogs and cats that require medicine and dogs that have food aggression. I currently work part time at Walmart in Unicoi and I am a full time student at ETSU. Doing animal care works extremely well for me because I will be able to do the majority of my school work while I’m with your pet. My Walmart work schedule can get a little tricky sometimes, so please let me know if you have any questions or concerns! Staying at a client’s house works best for me because I live with my grandmother and she has two dogs that are not dog friendly. I always make sure they stick to their feeding schedule (if they have one) and that they take potty breaks as frequently as possible. I keep all doors locked when I am inside and never take my eyes off of your dog when it is outside.

About: I’ve helped take care of every animal you can think of! Having a big family gave me plenty of opportunities to learn and grow with different animals I attend college two days a week and work the night shift at my job! My day starts pretty early so I have a little too much free time and would love to spend it caring for animals! As long as the animal is provided with every basic essential it needs I will go above and beyond to tend to every need your pet has

I do not have children and I believe our pets are a reflection of our own soul and speak to us through the way they interact with us. If we have had a bad day, they know. If we have had a good day, they know that too! This is my only job so my schedule is pretty open to meeting the needs of you and your fur babies. I look forward to meeting you and your precious pooch or kitty for lots of love! I am a retired veteran so caring for your fur baby is my #1 priority. Check my schedule on the Rover app. Let me be your preferred sitter! I can accommodate your pet by house sitting in your home. About: I’m a lifelong pet owner and devoted pet parent with 4 cats and 2 Weimaraners. I have experience fostering, caring for sick pets, and giving medication. Loving, reliable, and ready to treat your pets like family. I work a part time job a few days a week but my schedule is flexible. I am able available to take overnight pet sitting jobs for long weekends within an hour drive from me. Mid week and longer stays need to be within 20-30 minutes of Burnsville. I care for pets just as their owners would—following your instructions closely and making sure routines, diets, and comfort are maintained. I listen carefully to your guidance and welcome feedback, so you can feel confident your pets are receiving the same love and care they get from you.

About: Animals have been a part of my life since I was 8 years old, and caring for pets has always come naturally to me. I have experience caring for both my own pets and the pets of friends and neighbors, including dogs ranging from 5 to 65 pounds. I’m comfortable working with senior pets, anxious pets, and different personalities, always making sure they feel safe, loved, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. I currently work part-time, giving me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to provide attentive, reliable care, walks, playtime, companionship, and comfort for pets. I currently provide care only in clients’ homes, following each pet’s routine, feeding schedule, medications, and special instructions to keep them comfortable, safe, stress-free daily

About: My family have always owned at least 4 dogs at a time and growing up it was our responsibility as kids to care for them. We would brush them, walk them, feed them, and bath them. I recently graduated with an MBA from East Tennessee State University and I’m working full time as a marketing manager for Ballad Health Medical Associates. I work 3 in days in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and work 2 days remotely Monday and Friday. My job is 2 minutes from my home so I would be able to check on your dog during lunch or check on them at your place. For this reason I don’t accept house sitting on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday that are more than 10 miles away. They will have my attention at all time. They might get tired of me wanting to play with them. I love being around dogs and will make sure your fury friend is well taken care of and happy

Alexa was great! She was super communicative and showed up on time every single day for a month to walk our two dogs while we were settling into a new house. She got them plenty of exercise each day, gave updates on how they did on each walk, adjusted walk lengths based on the weather and how much energy the dogs had each day, and overall was super attentive to each dog’s individual needs. Our boys are missing her already, and we will definitely be using her in the future!

About: Animals just relax around me. I’ve worked with many pet owners who are apprehensive to leave their pets with anyone due to the pet’s nervous temperaments, and other various quirks, and every single time the animals have surprised their owners by completely settling in with me. I prioritize play, love, and connecting with each individual pet I watch however they specifically need. I’ve looked after animals of all breeds, ages, & temperaments- from anxious & fussy older pets to energetic young puppies. I have experience administering medications to sick animals, hand feeding injured puppies, walking several pets at once, and managing dogs & cats that are a bit wild. I’ve even cared for lizards, turtles, fish, plants (haha), hamsters, birds, & rabbits. Whatever their needs, I will make sure they feel safe, loved, & at home while they’re with me. I am a potter who works from my home studio, and I make my own schedule- so I can generally be flexible and accommodate your pets needs. I love having pets in my home, and breaking away from my studio to get some fresh air and puppy/kitty love too! If I’m working on a big project, it’s nice to have to flexibility to come and go from my studio when possible, or have your pet there with me- but I have worked out all kinds of house sit/drop in/boarding arrangements according to the needs of clients and their pets. Let’s talk! I live in a peaceful home with a large fenced in backyard, and nice quiet streets to walk with your pet as needed. I will follow whatever routines you generally stick to and prefer when working with your animals. Give me all the details of your needs and preferences, boundaries and particulars- no matter what type of sit- so I can be sure you and your pet(s) feel a sense of trust, ease, and predictability.

FAQs for Dog Walking - Whitson

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of June 2026, there are 431 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Whitson. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Whitson. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Whitson.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Whitson. On Rover:

  • 84% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
