“Fantastic service. Beautiful country home with huge yard. Sent us photo updates 4 different times. Will use again any chance we get. Thanks again. Danny was so comfortable and super happy.”

“I cannot begin to say enough about the care which Lacie provided for our Emma. She is a 16 year-old Havanese and has issues such as being blind and deaf. She also has some severe arthritis. Lacie took excellent care of her needs, took her outside multitudes daily to enjoy the sun and provided us with daily photos of how well she got along.Lacie provided excellent care and Emma and seem to be so happy. I know it was a lot of extra work because of her special needs, but Lacey was fantastic. I highly recommend Lacie!!!”

“Great Experience! While watching my puppy over the weekend they provided consistent updates the entire time. I really appreciated the regular photos and messages that gave a peace of mind knowing my puppy was doing well while I was away. My puppy also got a ton of playtime and attention!”

“Sonya and Daisy had a great time together, Sonya was able to provide daily updates multiple times a day to ensure that I knew it was going on. She provided adequate meals, outside time, and cuddles for my puppy. I definitely recommend her and I will be using her again in the future!”

“Raquel was absolutely great with Denver and Butterball. She loves on them like they were her own. She sent lots of pictures of them relaxing or then having outside time. My favorite thing was that she has an entire area for them in her house so they aren't in a crate. She made sure my boys were safe and not get hurt. I would definitely recommend her and will use her services again. Thanks Raquel.”

About: I’ve loved animals my entire life and have experience caring for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and other pets. Growing up around animals has taught me how important patience, responsibility, and kindness are when caring for someone’s pet. I enjoy feeding, walking, playing with, and spending quality time with animals, as well as keeping their spaces clean and comfortable. I’m dependable, gentle, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs. I understand that every animal has its own personality and routine, and I want to make sure every pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away. I would love the opportunity to provide your pets with the same care and attention I give my own. I’m a university student working toward my bachelor’s degrees and I also work as a caregiver for older adults. My schedule can be busy, but I’m good at planning ahead and making time for pet care. I’m generally available around my school and work schedule, especially for walks, drop-ins, and spending time with pets. I’m also active and enjoy hiking and being outdoors, so I’d be happy to give dogs some extra exercise and playtime! I’m very respectful of people’s homes and always make sure pets are safe, comfortable, and cared for. I follow their normal routines as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, medications if needed, and playtime. I’m attentive to each pet’s personality and needs and will keep owners updated so they know how their pets are doing. I treat every home and pet with the same care and respect I would want for my own.

“Sara was amazing! This was our first time leaving Koda with a sitter, and Sara made the whole process stress-free. The updates/photos were reassuring and allowed us to feel at ease knowing Koda was well taken cared of and having a great time. We highly recommend her!”

“Mary was the absolute best! My poor pup got 2 front paw injuries during our hike at the Appalachian trail. She came last minute to pick him up and care for him. She did such a great job that my pup came back very improved! I know he had a great time and is recommend for anyone and everyone to use Mary. She was so caring and sweet that I gave her hugs before leaving. Thank you Mary! You brought so much peace for me to complete my section hike of the trail!”

About: I’ve always loved caring for dogs, often helping neighbors and friends with their dogs. And I look after my grandpup Whiskey, a husky, whenever my son travels. Your pet will enjoy a calm, steady routine while staying with me. I work full‑time from home, so they’ll have company throughout the day and plenty of attention. We’ll follow their usual schedule — walks, meals, potty breaks, and any comfort habits they rely on. Evenings are relaxed and cozy with playtime and snuggles. You’ll receive updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing. For cats: They settle in easily here and enjoy a quiet, cozy space with lots of gentle attention. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I keep a steady routine throughout the day so pets know what to expect and feel secure while they’re with me. I live in a quiet, comfortable home that’s very pet‑friendly and easy for animals to settle into. Since I work from home, your pet will have company throughout the day and won’t be left alone for long stretches. Supervised outdoor time: I don’t have a fenced yard, so all outdoor time is on‑leash and supervised. I’m mindful of other dogs we may meet on walks and keep interactions calm and controlled. Safe indoor environment: Inside, pets can relax, nap, and settle in a pet‑friendly space where I’m always nearby. At times, my grandkitty Kitana may be here, and she’s calm, gentle, and used to sharing space with visiting pets. Communication: You’ll receive updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing. If anything seems off — changes in appetite, behavior, or comfort — I’ll let you know right away.
“We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Dana. Our Cavapoo, Rosie, is part of our family, and it’s so important to us that she’s well taken care of. Dana went above and beyond to make sure Rosie was happy, healthy, and loved while we were away. From frequent updates and adorable pictures to plenty of playtime and cuddles, we felt completely at ease knowing Rosie was in such caring hands. We highly recommend Dana to anyone looking for a reliable and loving pet sitter!”

About: I have had dogs in my family since I was born, and began working as a neighborhood petsitter at the age of 10. Over the course of my life, I've owned and taken care of dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds. My rescued 6-year-old mini poodle, Bentley, is my spoiled baby. He gets the best treatment out of any member of our family, and your dog will get the same during their vacation at our home. Their vacation includes: ✨️ Off-leash playtime in a 0.5 acre fenced yard. Your dog is able to go outside as often as they want to potty and play, and my teenage son will throw a ball or frisbee until his arms fall off just to keep your dog active and entertained. ✨️ Custom meal plans based on your dog's existing routine. I am happy to cook fresh food if needed. Bentley literally has his own mini-fridge... ✨️ A variety of treats and toys, as well as dog-safe human food such as carrots, blueberries, and cooked chicken. ✨️ Allowed on furniture, and even allowed to sleep in bed with me for round-the-clock care and comfort. ✨️ Car rides or outings (with your permission), including plenty of trips to Starbucks for pup cups. ✨️ As-needed grooming, including brushing, face and ear wipes, etc. ✨️ As-needed walks in our quiet, residential neighborhood for additional exercise. The long story short is that you probably shouldn't board your dog with me if you don't want them to be spoiled rotten... it's the only way I know how to do it. 😇 My experience includes: ✅️ Basic obedience training, potty training, leash training, and socialization for puppies and adult dogs. ✅️ Functional training, such as teaching dogs to ring bells when they need to go outside to potty (Bentley will help teach your dog too, don't worry 😊). ✅️ Socialization for dogs with a history of abuse or neglect, including introductions to other animals, people, and being out in public. ✅️ Puppy-raising (basic obedience and socialization training) for Southeastern Guide Dogs, a 501(C)(3) nonprofit specializing in guide dogs for those with visual impairments. ✅️ End-of-life care for senior dogs, including managing arthritis, incontinence, blindness, etc. ✅️ Care for dogs with medical conditions, including epilepsy and heartworm. ✅️ Care for dogs with specialty dietary and exercise needs, including both weight-loss and weight-gain programs. I work from home in a very flexible part-time job, so I'm available to play and pay attention to your dog all day! Your dog will never be completely unsupervised at my home when boarded, and will have no need to be crated (unless they like being in their crate) 😊 I have a large, fenced-in yard with open grassy areas and some semi-wooded areas/brushy* for them to sniff and explore. The dogs are never allowed in the yard unsupervised, and my yard and fence are routinely inspected to ensure there are no safety hazards for your pets or mine! My dog, Bentley, gets along with most other friendly dogs, regardless of their size, age, or gender. However, Bentley is not neutered due to medical issues, so I cannot accept unspayed female dogs as clients. *Because my yard is brushy in some areas, I prefer clients to please be up-to-date on flea and tick medications. Please let me know if your puppy is not, so we can work out a care plan to keep them healthy!
“By the best dog sitter in the area! Will definitely use her again! I 100% felt my dogs were in caring hands while out of town. Carrie and her family provided a safe and happy environment for my 2 pups! Ten stars!!!”

“Stephanie was absolutely AMAZING! ❤️ I get so anxious leaving my baby, but from the moment I met her, I felt completely at ease. She was such a great communicator and sent me pictures and updates throughout the day, every day, which made such a huge difference. I was able to actually relax and enjoy my trip knowing Alphie was in such good hands. Stephanie has the sweetest personality and was an absolute joy to work with. You can tell she genuinely loves and cares for the dogs she watches, and Alphie had SO much fun with her. When I came to pick him up, he almost didn’t want to come home—which has NEVER happened before! 😂❤️ That alone tells me everything I need to know. I will absolutely be using Stephanie for all of my future dog-sitting needs. I honestly couldn’t recommend her enough. If I could give her a million stars, I would! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Zoe did a great job looking after Lew while I was out of town! She kept me updated and sent lots of pictures! She even gave me a report card of Lew’s behavior during his stay. I will definitely rebook with Zoe again!”

“What a great experience our first time using Rover! We were nervous about leaving our dog for a week but Beth made the process easy and efficient. She kept us updated on Coco’s transition and adjustment throughout the week, which was so helpful and reassuring. From drop off to pick up, I knew my dog was cared for. Highly recommend Beth’s services!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Whitewater Pines home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Whitewater Pines.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Whitewater Pines sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
