“Alex is amazing with animals and was great with my dog daisy. I have a 2-year old mountain feist that still has a lot of energy and Alex was able to give her the exercise and attention that she needed while I was away.”

“Mikayla made being away from both my dogs much easier. She sent plenty of updates and when we came back both dogs were calm. So glad I was able to book with her on such short notice and on a holiday weekend.”

“Janisa was truly amazing! She was incredibly responsive, answering right away and asking questions when needed. She followed every direction and sent so many pictures of our dogs, which was reassuring. The dogs absolutely loved her, and we felt completely confident leaving them in her care. She was trustworthy, respectful, and left our home exactly how we left it. We will 100% be rebooking her in the future. highly recommend! :)”

About: My résumé includes dogs, cats, muddy boots, mystery noises in barns, and convincing animals that the thing they absolutely do not want to do is actually a great idea. I've learned that patience, consistency, and a pocket full of treats or a favorite toy solve most problems. Animals have always been a huge part of my world. On any given day, I might be caring for horses, spending time with my dogs and cats, or helping a nervous animal feel comfortable in a new situation. I understand that every pet is different. Some want a long walk and a game of fetch. Some want a quiet companion who respects their space. Some have very strong opinions about breakfast arriving precisely on time. I have experience caring for animals of all ages, from energetic youngsters to seniors who need a slower pace and a little extra patience. I'm comfortable with large dogs, multi-pet households, and pets with established routines that need to be followed carefully. Friends often describe me as observant and dependable. I pay attention to details, communicate clearly, and genuinely enjoy getting to know each animal's personality. Whether your pet is an adventure buddy, a professional napper, or a lovable troublemaker, my goal is to make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for while you're away. As a lifelong animal owner, I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pets. I will treat them with the same attention and respect I give my own. I currently have flexible availability most days of the week and can often accommodate pet care requests around my existing animal care responsibilities. Caring for animals is already a part of my daily routine, so I understand the importance of consistency, communication, and showing up when expected. Beginning in August, my availability will shift as I start graduate school, and I will primarily be available on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. I believe in being upfront about scheduling and only accepting bookings that I can fully commit to, so you can count on reliable care and clear communication. Every pet has their own routine, and I do my best to follow it as closely as possible. During drop-in visits, I make sure pets have fresh water, meals (if needed), potty breaks, exercise, and attention tailored to their personality. Some pets want to play, some want belly rubs, and some prefer a quiet companion who respects their space. For walks, I focus on safety, consistency, and making sure your dog gets both physical exercise and mental stimulation. I pay attention to weather conditions, energy levels, and each dog's comfort and confidence. I also keep an eye on the little things. As someone who has cared for animals for many years, I know that changes in appetite, energy, mobility, or behavior can be important. If I notice something unusual, I will communicate it promptly. In a client's home, I respect both the pet's routine and the household itself. My goal is for your pet to feel comfortable and cared for while you're away, and for you to come home to a happy pet and a home just as you left it.
“Jonathan is an awesome dog sitter! I will definitely hire him again in the future. He kept me informed about how Bear was doing during the entire stay. I came home to my home being in great shape too. Bear was happy to see me, but I think.he misses Jonathan.”

“Mya took great care of our dog and house while we were away for a long weekend! She sent updates and pictures daily and it was very easy to communicate with her both before and during the stay. Highly recommended!”

“Bella was wonderful! She swooped in to save the day at the last minute and took great care of my furbaby and my home while I was out of town for a few days. Will definitely be reaching out to her in the future.”

About: I’ve spent years caring for pets for friends and family, including walking, drop-in visits, and overnight pet sitting. I’m comfortable with animals of all sizes and energy levels, from playful puppies to relaxed seniors. I currently live with and help care for three dogs (ages 1, 3, and 12), so I’m very familiar with managing different needs! I work part-time hours, so my time is pretty open overall. My schedule is set for each week, so my availability will be posted well in advance. I make sure to keep a consistent eye on animals even if they seem to be low maintenance. That includes indoor/outdoor time and during walks. If you have any safety concerns regarding your pet, just reach out.
“Erin did a great job watching our dog Kaya! We were out of town for the night and Erin made sure Kaya was well taken care of! She sent numerous photos and treated Kaya like she was her own!”
About: I have had dogs all of my life since I was 4 years old. I didnt start to take up the responsibility to take care of them until I was about 7 or 8 years old. I have had a range of dog breeds and sizes in my care from a golden retriever to a toy Aussie. I love take care, play and just hang out with animals. I currently work as a middle school teacher so my summers are pretty free! Whether it’s a one day check in or a vacation, I will happily spend my summer with your pups! I will follow whatever needs you have for your dog(s) whether I have to house sit, walk, or just hang out with your animal for the day. I want to make sure you are comfortable with the care I give them.
“While house sitting with our Bluetick Ted noticed a leak coming from an outdoor pump to our pool. He notified me and then helped coordinate with our repair man to get it fixed within hours. If it wasn’t for Ted we would have come home to an empty pool and a burned out pump. He is now earned the title of SUPER TED!!!”

“We needed someone to house/dog sit while we were out of town for a week. Jonathan was great! We could tell the dogs got lots of long walks and plenty of attention. We would definitely rebook him!”

“Tyson was awesome, my dogs felt immediately comfortable around him. His knowledge of behavior and training was such a wonderful bonus. My husband and I were able to enjoy our trip knowing our home and large dogs were well cared for!”
“Brianna was amazing! We found her at the last minute to come hang out with our dog while we went on vacation. She was very flexible and accommodating. He has separation anxiety and is afraid of a lot of dogs, but Brianna made us feel very confident about leaving him with her. She sent daily updates with pictures/videos as well :) Our dog clearly loved getting to hangout with her. She stayed in our home and was so respectful. We would love to work with her anytime and highly recommend to her to anyone!”

About: I was a dog groomer for over a year and worked in a dog store for 3 years and am able to read body language well and am very informed most things that come to your dogs needs. I spend as much time with my dog as I can everyday. I brush her, play ball, and pet her every single day and always give her lots of cookies. I take my dog to dog parks to play with her and have give her lots of treats! I brush my dog everyday and always have a cuddle time.
“Katie was great! We have an older dog who loves people. Katie was attentive to her needs and was prompt, friendly to our girl and took her for many walks. I highly recommend Katie.”

About: I have been helping to care of dogs and cats for my family and friends over about 12 years now. About 4 years ago I began to volunteer with local animal shelters and rescues. Through these rescues I have been able to foster, take dogs on "field trips," and socialize so many sweet fur babies! Almost 2 years ago, I adopted my own dog named Arnie, he is a Belgian Malinois and Dobermann mix. I did all training for him when he was 4 months old and have done a ton of research on the breeds. I feel confident in all breeds, sizes, ages, and energy levels! I also currently live with a cat and have experience with cats as well. I am currently a medical student in Spartanburg and have time prior to class, during lunch, and in the afternoon/evenings to stop by and hang out with your pets! I also have the weekends off and my schedule varies every day with flexibility to meet the needs of your fur babies. I can guarantee I will do my best to meet the needs of you and your pet in the best way possible! My dog is super friendly and is great on leashed walks with other dogs and is great to play off leash in the dog park at my apartment. I also have support at home to be able to leave him with friends while I am at your house to watch your pets and do not need to have him with me at all times!

FAQs for House Sitting - White Stone
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 813 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across White Stone. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred White Stone walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in White Stone maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in White Stone choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
