“We are so grateful for Hannah! She is reliable and truly cares about our dog’s well-being. It gives me such peace of mind knowing our pup is in loving hands. She sends photos of him and my dog is visibly happier and more relaxed because of his walks. I couldn’t ask for a better person to trust with my furry family member. Highly recommend!”

“Tierney was soo good to our girls while we were away. Showe up when she was supposed to and even stayed a little later to help let us know we were having an issue with our air conditioner. She fed and let the dogs out exactly how instructed and worked well with our schedule. Can't wait to use her service again soon!”

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. In my spare time I volunteer with a pitbull rescue but in the past I have volunteered with several shelters. I have an anxious dog so I understand the importance of patience and routines. I also understand the stress that leaving your animals can create, so that’s why I’m here to help you feel less stress and more confident in your animals care while you’re away! I work full time but I get home by 5:10 at the latest and have an hour lunch break. On weekends I only work occasional Saturday’s until noon. I understand the importance of feeling comfortable opening your home to a stranger but prior to booking we can schedule a meet up to ensure you are as comfortable as possible! I am happy to provide check in, feedings, refilling water, bathroom breaks, walks, and of course lots of loving if they are comfortable with that. I’m happy to help in any way!

About: I've been a devoted pet owner for more than 20 years, and caring for animals has always been a meaningful part of my life. Dogs and cats have a way of trusting me, and I love taking the time to understand each pet's unique personality and needs. I know how important it is to leave your furry family members with someone who is attentive, dependable, and genuinely cares. Whether you're traveling, working long hours, or simply away from home, my goal is to provide the same love, patience, and thoughtful care I'd want for my own pets. I treat every animal as if they were my own, so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing they're safe, happy, and well cared for. As a self-employed therapist, I have the flexibility to create my own schedule, which allows pet care to fit naturally into my daily routine. I primarily work Tuesday through Saturday, with most of my appointments conducted via secure telehealth, so I can comfortably work from wherever I'm house sitting as long as there's a reliable Wi-Fi connection. My work is scheduled in advance and never prevents me from providing walks, potty breaks, playtime, feedings, medications, or the attention your pets deserve. I simply ask for about two weeks' notice whenever possible so I can coordinate my calendar and ensure my own pets are well cared for while I'm away. My husband stays home with our pets during house-sitting stays, allowing me to focus completely on caring for yours. My goal is to make sure your pets can maintain their normal routine and feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. Your pet's safety, comfort, and routine will always be my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's personality, habits, feeding schedule, medications, exercise needs, and any special instructions so I can provide care that's consistent with what they're used to at home. Whether I'm stopping by for a walk, providing care while you're at work, or staying overnight, I'll treat both your pets and your home with the same respect and attention I give my own. I believe in building trust through dependable communication, gentle handling, and careful attention to detail, and I'm always happy to provide updates and photos while you're away. My goal is for you to return home to happy, relaxed pets and the peace of mind that comes from knowing they were genuinely cared for.
About: I have experience with giving medication for 5+ years. I enjoy long walks around the neighborhood or forest preserves. I used to volunteer at pet shelters when I was college. I’m sorry, at this time I am not providing any at home services. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation at this time.
About: I love to spend time with them , I like to play with them, I like to take them to the park. I will always keep them on a leash. I can teach them some tricks, sit , stay roll over. I can take them out every two hours, to go potty. I can keep them over night. I took care of a one eye cat, I took care of a blind dog. I have had dogs in diapers. I took care of a Yorkshire, who was pregnant, she went into labor at my house, and my mom and I delivered three little babies they came out every forty minutes. We help clean the babies, and my dog Chuckie helped to. Give them kisses, hugs.
About: I love animals. I have owned a horse, birds and fish. Although I never owned a dog or cat, Friends and family have always asked me to pet sit and I have always been more than happy to ablige. As a former letter Carrier, my favorite customers were four-legged. I am retired and want to stay active. Who can keep you more fit and active than a dog that is waiting for a walk-date? When I have dog sat, I usually go for multiple walks. I can walk all day. The dogs love it and it makes them tired. Animals need mental stimulation outside of their house or yard just like people. I try to find things to keep us both busy and happy.
“Marissa was great! She arrived on time to meet my little pups before I went out of town, and also arrived on time the day I scheduled for her to come let them out. She played with them, took them for a walk, fed them, and changed out a potty pad.”

About: Hi, I’m Mia! Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and I’ve been caring for pets for over 10 years through dog walking, pet sitting, and daily care. I truly believe every pet has their own unique personality, routine, and needs, and I take the time to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away. I’m located in the South Suburbs of Chicago and proudly serve dogs of all ages, sizes, and energy levels. I’m comfortable caring for puppies, senior dogs, large breeds, and administering medications when needed. With a flexible schedule, I’m able to provide reliable walks, drop in visits, feeding, playtime, companionship, and personalized care based on your pet’s routine. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing fetch, learning new skills, or simply relaxing with company, I’m happy to tailor my care to what makes them happiest. Safety, patience, and communication are my top priorities. I follow all care instructions closely, keep pets active and engaged, and provide regular photo and video updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I treat every pet as if they were my own, and my goal is simple: to make sure your furry family member feels safe, comfortable, loved, and stress free in their own environment. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine since I have a flexible schedule. This allows me to plan my day around walks, drop in visits, feeding times, and playtime so each pet receives consistent attention and care throughout the day or week. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow all instructions closely to maintain their normal routine. This includes feeding schedules, walks, medication if needed, cleaning up after pets, refreshing water, and keeping their environment safe, clean, and comfortable. I also make sure doors and leashes are secured and I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior to ensure they are safe and relaxed while their owner is away.
About: I’ve been around dogs since I was a child and owned a few so nothing really intimidates me about any dog or cat. But personally, I do love cats more. They’re just much more my personality. At the moment, I honestly do not have that much time but if I do have an open day, it’ll be on the weekends and I can move things around pretty flexibly Building trust with any living thing takes time and willingness to meet bumps in the road. I’m committed to making sure your pet and your space are well respected and taken care of.

About: I’ve owned many dogs and have taken care of and pet sit for my family and friends. I really enjoy the company and the energy that animals bring. I will match that energy that they have. I am off of school for the whole summer. So I need something to do during the day so I do not go insane from not having anything to do. I love giving attention to my clients animals and make sure they are having fun and that they are comfortable. I make sure they have used the bathroom and I am also very good at reading the animals body language. I have been around a lot of animals as I’ve grown up.

About: With 25 years of experience around dogs, I have developed a strong understanding of canine behavior, training, handling, and everyday care. I have experience working with dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. I believe every dog deserves patience, consistency, structure, and individual attention. Whether caring for an energetic puppy or an older companion, I tailor my approach to each dog’s personality, needs, and established routine. I personally provide all care for pets booked through Rover, including feeding, walking, exercise, supervision, and daily routines. I am the sole caretaker and take pride in providing a safe, comfortable, and positive experience for every dog in my care. Caring for dogs is a regular part of my daily life. I enjoy providing a balance of exercise, playtime, relaxation, and structured routines. We’re conveniently located near beautiful Lake Michigan, giving us access to wonderful walking areas and outdoor activities. I also enjoy taking suitable dogs to Jackson Bark Dog Park for exercise, play, and socialization when appropriate and approved by their owners. Whether your dog enjoys an active day outdoors or prefers relaxing inside with the family, I make sure their daily routine is tailored to their individual needs. Dogs in my care receive attention, companionship, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy themselves! I strive to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment where every dog feels at home. Our property features spacious, dedicated kennel runs, allowing each dog to have its own comfortable space when needed. Our guests aren’t limited to their kennels, though! Dogs are also welcome inside our home to relax, spend time with the family, and enjoy a more personal boarding experience. We’re located near beautiful Lake Michigan, providing wonderful opportunities for walks and outdoor exercise. One of our favorite destinations is Jackson Bark Dog Park, which offers a separate private area where dogs can enjoy individual exercise and playtime without interacting with unfamiliar dogs. This is especially beneficial for dogs that prefer their own space or aren’t comfortable in large groups. Visits are offered when appropriate and with owner approval. As an experienced dog trainer, I understand canine behavior, body language, and the importance of structured routines. I carefully consider each dog’s personality, comfort level, and compatibility before allowing interactions with other dogs. My goal is to provide more than just boarding. I want every dog to enjoy exercise, companionship, affection, and individualized care while giving their owners peace of mind.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
