About: My experience comes from a lifelong love of animals. I cared for my childhood dog from the time I was young until he passed away at 15 years old. Throughout his life, I was responsible for feeding him, spending quality time with him, ensuring he was comfortable, and providing extra care as he became a senior dog. This experience taught me patience, responsibility, and the importance of understanding a pet's individual needs. I know that pets are family members, and I treat every animal with the same love, compassion, and attention that I gave my own dog. My goal is to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. 🐾❤️ Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I work remotely from home Monday through Friday. This allows me to be available throughout the day for walks, feeding, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship. Since I'm home most of the time, I can provide pets with consistent attention, supervision, and care, helping them feel comfortable and safe while their owners are away. I provide a clean, safe, and calm environment where pets can feel comfortable and secure. I pay close attention during walks, playtime, and daily activities to ensure pets stay safe and happy. I also keep pet owners updated with messages and photos so they can have peace of mind while they are away. Having cared for my own dog throughout his life, including his senior years, I understand the importance of patience, reliability, and giving pets the love and attention they deserve.

About: I have taken care of all sizes and temperaments of animals for 6 years, no one is too much to handle! I am very gentle, playful, loving, and energetic; i tailor myself to the pet's specific personality to make them feel comfortable as possible while their parents are away! As a bus driver, I am available to care for your pet(s) between 10am-1pm, then after 5pm on any given week day. All weekend I can give completely undivided attention! I also have every holiday break and all of summer vacation off. I am only open to sitting at other people's home's; i do not have the space, facilities, or amiable enough cat to take in new animals as it stands! As for clients homes, I am capable of taking care of up to 5-7 animals at one time from experience. Care can look like oral medicine administration needs, basic grooming schedules, potty training clean-up, as many walks as needed, and even weighing out food/having specific foods per animal if necessary!

About: What sets me apart is the level of personalized care and attention I give to every pet. I treat each animal as if they were my own—whether that means being extra gentle with senior dogs, helping reinforce training with energetic puppies, or making sure your shy or anxious pet feels safe and loved. I have experience with a wide range of breeds, ages, and temperaments, and I pay close attention to your pet’s unique needs and routine. Communication is key, so I always keep owners updated with photos and notes to give you peace of mind while you’re away. You can trust that your pet will be in a caring, responsible, and attentive environment. As a healthcare worker, I usually work three days a week, which gives me a very flexible schedule the rest of the week to focus on pet care. On my days off, I love spending time with animals—it’s honestly one of the best ways to unwind and bring joy into my routine. Whether it’s daily drop-ins or walks, I have the time, energy, and passion to give your pet the attention they deserve. My healthcare background also makes me dependable, calm under pressure, and very attentive to detail—especially when it comes to routines, medications, or special care needs. What sets me apart from other sitters is the level of genuine care and attention I give every pet. I understand that every dog has their own personality, needs, and routine—and I make it my priority to provide care that’s tailored to them. I have experience with dogs of all ages, from playful puppies who need consistency and structure to sweet senior dogs who need patience, gentleness, and extra love. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and always keep pet parents in the loop with updates and photos. Whether your pup needs a walking buddy, cuddle partner, or someone to reinforce training, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, loved, and right at home.

About: Please take into consideration the quality of your pet sitter over a low rate inexperienced "pet lover" that just wants to watch animals . There's a difference. "RATES LISTED HERE ARE BASIC RATES- THEY MAY BE ADJUSTED ON A CASE BY CASE SCENARIO (UP OR DOWN) DEPENDING ON THAT ANIMALS PARTICULAR NEEDS" *******IMO- ANIMALS trump most people 😁 I Specialize in special needs animals & alternative ways to treat that aren't offered by most vets due to my life long experience , I know what works. I also am fond on taking care of any & all animals including horses and farm animals. Right down to guinea pigs n snakes of all kinds. If you need dog boarding, as long as I have notice I can make myself available & home 24/7 ** I work M-F daily, so any animal I can work into my schedule is a great fit. I cannot do daily letting out of dogs unless I have NOTICE (deposit required) I am open to ANY animal watched in my home if that is preferential. I can also "stay" in your home outside of my daily work schedule I'm in a huge farm house, large yard and except for weekly job am always home for one on one. Im extremely close to my local vet and have dealt with many different situations.

About: Lifelong animal lover experienced in river walks, companion feedings, soothing chest rubs, treat distribution, and earning a sly cats trust. I will make sure your pets are happy, SAFE, and completely spoiled while you’re away! After a recent career shift- a friend suggested I try Rover to generate a bit of income. Bonus: an opportunity to do something I LOVE! I’m just getting started (here), but I look forward to meeting your fur family. I closely monitor outdoor time to ensure the pet is secure in the yard. I do NOT have a fence (all neighbors do). I will either clip them to the ground lead (125 lb hold), or long leash them in hand (I prefer your dog wear a harness while in my care). For their safety and security, your pet will NOT be outside without supervision. When out walking I will remain aware and assess surroundings to prepare for any triggers the dog may have and offer redirection. I will closely follow your schedule and preferences to make transition of care easier.

About: Taking care of your animal will be my number one priority. I love animals, I will be more than attentive to their needs and accommodate anything you would like. I’m available any time you need me and I will take in any animal, big, small, furry, hairless, you name it! I love them all. I’ve had animals my whole life so I know how to take care of dogs, I’ve had cats now for 5 years and kittens and it’s a handful but it has taught me so many things needed to be a perfect sitter! I love getting pets toys, and fancy food sometimes to spoil them so expect that (if it’s fone with the owner) of course. I can’t wait to meet you and your lovely pet!

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. In my spare time I volunteer with a pitbull rescue but in the past I have volunteered with several shelters. I have an anxious dog so I understand the importance of patience and routines. I also understand the stress that leaving your animals can create, so that’s why I’m here to help you feel less stress and more confident in your animals care while you’re away! I work full time but I get home by 5:10 at the latest and have an hour lunch break. On weekends I only work occasional Saturday’s until noon. I understand the importance of feeling comfortable opening your home to a stranger but prior to booking we can schedule a meet up to ensure you are as comfortable as possible! I am happy to provide check in, feedings, refilling water, bathroom breaks, walks, and of course lots of loving if they are comfortable with that. I’m happy to help in any way!

About: I have experience caring for a variety of pets with different needs and routines. I have taken care of a 1-year-old cat along with 3 other adult cats, including a cat who required at least 30 minutes of playtime and interaction every day. I have also cared for a large dog who ate home-cooked soup mixed with his food at specific feeding times, as well as a husky who stayed in an air-conditioned dog house unit and required daily vitamins and attentive care. I am good at following direction for the desired care you and your pet need. I work remotely and any activities I plan I would plan around a schedule if at all with the pet in mind. I will plan in advance for the openings I have in my schedule to permit me to be with the pet. I typically stay in the pets home to create a less stressful environment for the pet and go about its daily routine as instructed by the pet owner. I will stay as long as required by the pet owner or stay in a guest bedroom all day depending on what makes the pet owner most comfortable with.

About: I have always loved animals, especially dogs! I am a responsible, energetic, caring person that would love to take care of your pet! Your pets are part of the family, just like mine. I have experience dog sitting small to medium sized dogs. I am not strong enough to walk or care for larger dogs (unless of course they are great on the leash walking). I do not discriminate against any kind of breeds. I have two dogs of my own that are chihuahua and chihuahua mix. I have cared for small chihuahuas to larger pit bulls. Just message me with your needs as I work part time as a dental hygienist so I will work around my hours. I, also, volunteer at a wild animal rescue where I get to care for raccoons, foxes, deer, possums, squirrels and rabbits under the supervision of a veterinarian. I love animals of all kinds! Caring for animals is a passion of mine !

About: 🚨PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING 🚨 Hey there! 🐾 Caring for animals isn’t just something I do - it’s truly the heartbeat of my everyday life. I’ve poured my whole heart into 𝘍𝘶𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘗𝘦𝘵 𝘚𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 - a personal project I started out of love for animals and a desire to create a safe, clean, happy place for them. Through that journey, i’ve been able to care for pets of all ages, sizes, and needs, and it’s taught me so much about patience, responsibility, and the joy animals bring into our lives 🥰 Over the years, i’ve worked with everything from energetic puppies just learning the ropes - to senior dogs needing gentle routines + extra support. I’m confident handling multiple dogs at once, caring for pets with special diets or medical needs, and maintaining the structure and consistency that helps your babies feel comfortable while your away. I treat every fur baby like family. I know the trust it takes to leave your pets in someone else’s care, and I take that responsibility seriously 💛 ALL dogs must be up to date on all their vaccines + must be on a flea preventative. Making sure that they’re all protected while in my care is important to me - health + safety comes first 💉 My days are always full walks, treats, happy chaos, and lots of love 💕 I’ve built my days around family, school, and animals - which means caring for pets flows right into everything I do. I love being outdoors, staying active, and having a routine - which makes caring for pets the perfect daily companions. I start our mornings off with a nice walk - lots of playtime out back in the backyard throughout the day - and a nice walk, after dinner, to wind down for the night. During + inbetween, i’m juggling being a full time student working towards my bachelors + keeping lit little flock of chickens happy at home 🐓 I’ve mastered balancing schedules while making sure your fur baby feels seen, safe, and loved. Your babies routine becomes my routine - they’ll always have me by their side ✨ When your fur babies are with me, they’re in a space designed just for them - clean, cozy, and full of love 🐾 I keep everything clean + pet safe. I use gentle, pet friendly cleaning supplies and candles that keep the house fresh without ever putting pets at risk. I also provide safe play spaces, cozy resting spots, and a lot of supervision to make sure everyone feels right at home🫶🏽 When i’m in your home, I bring that same level of respect + care - sticking to your routines, keeping spaces tidy, and giving your babies the consistency they need to feel secure 🔐

FAQs for House Sitting - Whitaker

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 842 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Whitaker. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Whitaker walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Whitaker maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Whitaker choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Whitaker. On Rover:

  • 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
