Sally took great care of our three dogs while we were away. She sent us pictures letting us know they were doing well. She came to meet them a few days before and took time to learn their routines. We will definitely use Sally again and highly recommend her to watch over your pets.

About: My sister and I raised a litter of kittens when we were younger. I learned all about responsibility and how to handle animals early on. I am currently working part-time, so I will have plenty of time to care for your pets! I am available on most days of the week and weekends. I am great with routines, cleanliness, and playtime. If you have any requests and details, like food and litter box specifics, toys, and schedules, I will gladly take notes.

About: I've been raised around dogs and been taking care of dogs most of my life! I treat every dog like they’re my own—with patience, love, and lots of attention. I’m reliable, communicative, and always make sure pets feel safe and comfortable in their environment. I’m especially good with shy or nervous dogs and enjoy giving extra care to seniors or dogs with special routines, but I love any kind! Whether your pup needs playtime, belly rubs, or a peaceful walk, I adapt to their unique needs and personality. I also keep owners updated with regular photos and messages so you always know your pet is in good hands. :) Pet care is currently my full-time focus, which means I have plenty of time and flexibility to give your pups the attention they deserve. Whether it’s regular walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping them company, I’m available throughout the day to care for their needs and follow their routines closely. Your dog won’t just be a side task—they’ll be my top priority. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to maintain their regular routine—feeding schedules, walk times, play, and any special instructions—so they feel safe and comfortable in their familiar environment. I keep things clean, respectful, and treat your home with care. I also provide regular updates with photos so you know your pet is happy and well cared for. If I’m caring for pets in my own home, I make sure they have a cozy, pet-friendly space with plenty of time for exercise, play, and snuggles. I keep a calm, supervised environment and follow any instructions you provide to keep your dog’s routine as normal as possible. I do have my own senior pup, so they would have a friend to play with!

Ashleigh was absolutely wonderful! She took care of Preston for two nights for us. I was a little nervous because it was our first time leaving P with someone. But Ashleigh eased my nerves by sending updates and pictures. It also helped that we met her before hand at Ps vet office that she works at. Knowing that Ashleigh has ER experience really helped keep me at ease in case anything should happen. She kept our house tidy, and followed our instructions. P seemed to enjoy his time with her and we look forward to having her sit again:)

Feel free to check both our Sitter and Trainer profiles to see which is best for you and your fur babies! We work from home full-time, so we can look after your dogs or cats all day. As loving pet-parents, we know that your fur babies are important members of your family. So we treat them all with kindness, respect, and loving care. Dogs & cats of any breed and any age are welcome at our place. We have a clean, safe home with a huge yard for your fur babies to walk and play, including a fully fenced zone for dog training. Our house has plenty of indoor space as well. We are happy to set up a meet-and-greet before you book your stay. About: With a lifelong passion for animals and years of experience caring for multiple pets, I bring a unique level of knowledge and compassion to every pet I care for. As a recent graduate of an accredited veterinary school and an experienced animal shelter volunteer, I’m comfortable caring for pets with a wide range of personalities and needs. Your pets will receive attentive, loving care from someone who truly understands how much they mean to your family. I currently have a flexible daily schedule and am available throughout the day and night to provide attentive, reliable care for your pets. I have temporarily stepped away from in-clinic employment as I prepare for my veterinary licensing exam, allowing me to dedicate my time and attention to pet sitting and ensuring your pets receive consistent, loving care. My home is well-equipped to provide a safe, comfortable, and pet-friendly environment for overnight and in-home pet sitting. I have a securely fenced yard for supervised outdoor time, as well as two friendly dogs who can provide companionship for pets who enjoy socializing. A kennel is available for small to medium-sized dogs when needed, and the home’s hardwood floors make cleanup easier in the event of occasional potty accidents. Pets are also welcome on the furniture, so they can relax and feel at home. I also have experience caring for senior and chronically ill pets, including administering medications as needed. I understand that every pet has unique routines and needs, and I am committed to providing patient, attentive, and compassionate care throughout their stay.

Hannah was such a wonderful sitter for Shuri! I put in a last minute request and she was able to accommodate no problem. Sent lots of pictures and updates and came home to a happy dog. This was my first time using Rover because I’ve had issues with Shuri’s separation anxiety and rubbing her nose raw when I board her at the vet. This experience was so welcoming and I hope to book Hannah again.

Tay was able to watch my dogs for the weekend In my home and house-sat for 2 nights. From the first time I reached out to her to the last day she was in my home, she was so responsive and very friendly. She provided updates and sent photos of my pups daily. She also left my house just as I left it!! Definitely will re-book with her if she has the availability, no complaints all!!!

About: I've had a variety of pets over the years! Currently I have three cats, and one snake. I am well versed in caring for dogs, cats, snakes, birds, and isopods. I'm better with animals than I am humans a lot of the time hahaha. I also have two kids, one just left for college, and the other is 13. Currently I have a part-time job as a preschool teacher. Being part time leaves me with a lot of flexibility for care schedules. I will do my best to make sure that I meet all scheduling needs of each client, and openly communicate any conflict in advance. I care for animals however they need. Each animal is an individual and deserves to be treated as such. It's important to me to listen, and follow directions provided, as well as assessing each situation and the animal. My goal is to make sure that I am giving each pet the proper care. That can only happen with open communication with the pet parents.

About: I have a profound love for all animals. I have taken care of dogs and cats of every kind since I was young. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to walk, feed, and bathe their pets. I have 2 dogs and 1 cat of my own, and I will treat all animals with as much love as I do my own. I am a stay at home mom with one child. I have all day to devote to playing and watching after every dog. I can tend to any needs that the dog may have. I have experience giving elderly dogs medication and being very attentive. I’m also very patient and do well with young and hyper pups! Greer has stayed at our home with our sweet pup several times now. This time she truly went above and beyond. She noticed that our pup ate a mushroom while he was outside in the yard. She immediately reached out to us, researched the mushroom to figure out that it was poisonous, and took him to the after hours animal hospital. It really makes us feel great knowing that our pup is in such good hands while we are away!

FAQs for House Sitting - Wetumpka

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Wetumpka on Rover is $29.96 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 119 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wetumpka. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wetumpka walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wetumpka maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wetumpka choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
