About: If you're looking for a dog walker, boarding, or staying at your home to watch your pets then look no further! I have cared for many pets ranging from puppies to senior animals to reptiles. I work at the NC Zoo, so I am able to go home and let dogs out/walk them over my hour lunch. I do watch my parents 2 Australian shepherds whenever they are out of town at my home, with a fenced in backyard, and my 2 cats get along with the dogs fine! I am a full-time zookeeper with a rotating schedule. I am available for at home care, overnight care as well as drop in visits throughout the week! I have a small fenced in backyard and 2 animal friendly cats. If needed, I am able to close my cats into their separate room when I'm not home. If providing care at client's home, I will walk, feed, medicate and play with them as well as spend the night if needed.
About: I own two dogs myself, so I am very familiar with how to care for your pet. In the past I have also dog-sat for family and friends! I am currently working part-time and would love to babysit your pet for a side gig! Let me know what days and times would work for you, and we’ll see what we can do. I am currently accepting jobs that would consist of me coming to you. I would walk them, feed them, and check on them the times that you needed me to!
About: Hello! My name is Katelyn and I am a true animal lover! I have a B.A. in Animal Science, Production, and Business Management. I have worked with animals in various settings: •veterinary clinic/hospital •daycare/boarding facility for dogs •animal shelter •dairy farm These jobs have allowed me to gain more animal handling skills, breed knowledge, behavior and body language! I have one dog of my own named Birdie, and one in heaven named Snorty. Both are Labrador Retrievers, who loves playing fetch, swimming, and car rides. Animals have always played a huge part of who I am today. Your animal will be treated properly and showered with love. I thank you for your consideration and I cannot wait to meet all the fur babies! I work M-F at my full time job. I can be flexible and we can arrange around times if need too- just know I have a job that I have to be at 8am-6pm. With having experience from working at an animal clinic, dog daycare and boarding facility, and even an animal shelter, knowledge from college, and working at farms I have incredible animal husbandry skills. I know how to administer medicine, if needed. Also, know what signs to look for when an animal is sick. Having a dog myself, I will care and love your fur baby like it’s my own!
“Chris did a great job of checking on our kitties on a set schedule and gave our one cat her pills every day! He even took the extra time to sweep after cleaning the litter boxes! I will be requesting him again!”

About: I’m a new graduate Physician Assistant with some time before starting my new job, and I’d love to spend that time caring for your pets! I’ve been a dog owner for 15 years, caring for my two Shih Tzu/Maltese mixes, and I also have experience caring for my own cat. I’m comfortable with all the everyday responsibilities that come with pet care, including walks, feeding, keeping litter boxes clean, and making sure pets get plenty of attention, love, and cuddles. I’m patient, attentive, and genuinely love being around animals. I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own and make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away! As a recent physician assistant graduate, I’m currently in the period of waiting for my professional licensing to be finalized. I’m also flexible and able to commute to provide care in your home or take your pet for walks and outings. I’d love to use this time to spend more time with animals and provide reliable, attentive, and loving care while their owners are away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make it a priority to keep their routine as consistent and comfortable as possible. I follow the owner’s instructions closely regarding feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and any specific needs or preferences their pet may have. I’m respectful of the home and always make sure the space is clean and secure before I leave. You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:

- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
