About: I have owned dogs since I was little. Now I have my very own dog and hopefully will have another in a few years. I have watched my friend's dogs before and helped care for sick dogs. I have a very fun and young Lab named Pheona. She’s a good first dog to call my own but I have learned so much from her. It also made my love for dogs stronger. I do not mind coming in and checking on dogs or cats. I also love going on walks with dogs and definitely would love to take dogs for a walk. I can also help keep up training or help out with training. I am comfortable around pretty much all sizes of dogs. I myself have a larger-sized dog but I have lived with a variety of sizes of dogs. I’m a very friendly individual so don’t be afraid to reach out to communicate with me.

About: Not only have I worked with animals my whole life I also work with dogs specifically with a rescue organization called AdoptMeBluegrass. I help with their animal care weekly and am part of their foster program. My family and my own dogs have welcomed hundreds of others into our home and always provide excellent care. I am a local landlord and typically only go out to work at the pet adoption center for AdoptMeBluegrass. I have no set work hours. I spend my time with the dogs. I have a double fenced property on a dead end street. Dogs love the 3/4 dedicated dog yard for them to play on our 6 acres of land. We have crates and can make your pet feel right at home. I’m a treats giver so let me know if there is something they can’t have or any other dietary restrictions. I can also come to your pet for services while you are away.

About: As a graduate student and lifelong animal lover, I bring both reliability and genuine care to every pet I work with. I have experience caring for dogs and cats, and I’m especially comfortable with larger breeds and pets with unique personalities. I have my own 8-year-old chow-shepherd mix, so daily long walks, patience, and attentive care are already a huge part of my routine. I also have experience caring for senior pets and understand the importance of slower pacing, medication routines, mobility awareness, and extra comfort and patience. Whether your pet loves active walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply calm companionship, I tailor my care to their individual needs and personality. I’m dependable, observant, communicative, and committed to making sure your pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. Pet care fits very naturally into my routine since I already spend a lot of time walking and caring for my own dog every day. I currently have full availability on Wednesdays and weekends (Saturday and Sunday), and I’m also available for evening walks and drop-ins on weekdays between 7–9 PM. I genuinely enjoy being active, spending time outdoors, and giving animals attention and care, so incorporating pet care into my weekly schedule is something I truly look forward to. I adapt my care to each pet’s individual routine and needs to help them feel as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Whether that means long walks, playtime, feeding schedules, giving medicine, potty breaks, check-ins, cuddle time, or simply providing calm companionship, I’m happy to do it all. I know how important consistency is for pets, so I always aim to follow the owner’s instructions closely while giving every animal plenty of attention, patience, and care.

About: What truly sets me apart is the level of hands-on experience I have with dogs who need extra care. My wife and I have had rescue dogs for over 20 years, and almost every one of them has come to us with medical or emotional challenges. Our first boy developed seizures right after we adopted him, and we gave him medication twice a day for his entire 14-year life. We’ve also cared for dogs with cancer, managed daily medications, and even administered at-home IV treatment when one of our girls needed it. Right now, one of our dogs is going through cancer treatment, and we handle multiple medications, special routines, and close monitoring. Because of this, I’m extremely comfortable giving meds, following detailed care plans, watching for changes in behavior, and providing calm, patient support for senior or medically fragile dogs. In our home, dogs aren’t “pets”—they’re our kids. I bring that same level of love, attention, and respect into every home I care for. Your dog will be treated with the same care, patience, and compassion I give my own. After selling my business, I finally have the freedom to spend my days doing something I genuinely love—being there for dogs who need real attention, not just a quick stop-in. If your pet is older, recovering, dealing with health issues, or simply happier with someone calm and consistent around, I provide steady, patient care right in their home. With an open, flexible schedule, I can stay with your dog as much as needed—perfect for pets that need regular meds, mobility help, special meals, or just someone who won’t rush them. I’m comfortable handling messes, encouraging slow or selective eaters, and adjusting to whatever routine your dog is used to. Light play, companionship, and several relaxed walks (when appropriate) are always included. I take your trust seriously—both with your pet and with your home. I know it’s a big deal to let someone into your personal space, and I handle that responsibility with real respect. I don’t go through anything that isn’t mine, and I keep your home exactly the way you left it. I’m also happy to help with the small things while you’re away—bringing in packages, watering plants, keeping things neat, and making your place look lived-in for added peace of mind. My approach is simple: calm, dependable, and focused. I’m not rushing in and out or checking the clock. My attention stays on your dog and what they need, not on squeezing the visit into a tight schedule.

About: My husband and I have had dogs our entire life both big and small. We currently have a medium dog who is a dream to walk, and a large dog who walks us but we love both just the same! We would love to host your fur baby at our house or drop in just to give them some love! We have 2 kids who have been raised around animals. Our normal attire is dog hair so we’re not afraid of some shedding. We haven’t been able to stretch our legs out in our bed in 10 years because no matter how comfy our dogs bed is they always end up on ours so we don’t mind if they are on our furniture or bed!

About: I’ve cared for my bulldog at home for many years now and make frequent visits to my grandmothers house to help her take care of her beagles. I have always had a passion to make animals specifically dogs time on earth the best it can be. I know they are incredibly misunderstood and no matter the animal, I have always found a way to get along with the fur baby. On days I don’t work, it would be amazing to get the opportunity to do this as to me it’s not considered a job Make them feel comfortable and let them know that you are there for them. About: I have nearly 10 years of hands on childcare experience and have cared for pets alongside families for years, so safety, structure, and attentiveness are second nature to me. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone, and I take that responsibility seriously. What sets me apart is my calm, patient approach and ability to read behavior cues quickly. I am experienced with puppies and young pets who need structure and consistency, as well as senior pets who require a gentler pace, medication reminders, and extra monitoring. Special skills include: • Puppy basics and reinforcement of training routines • Crate training support • Maintaining structured feeding and potty schedules • Senior pet support and comfort care • Administering oral medications • High energy breed management • Detailed updates with photos and communication you can rely on I treat every pet like they are my own while respecting your household rules and routines. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, loved, and completely at ease while you are away. Pet care fits very naturally into my weekly routine. I work as a nanny, which gives me a structured but flexible schedule. During the school year, I often have breaks in the day while the child is at school or activities, which allows me time for drop in visits, walks, and check ins. I do not work late evenings, and my weekends are typically open, which gives me consistent availability for overnight stays and extended care. Because I’m already in a caregiving role professionally, being attentive, reliable, and routine oriented is built into my day to day life. Caring for animals complements my schedule well and allows me to give pets the time and attention they deserve. I currently provide care in my clients’ homes so pets can remain in the environment where they feel most comfortable and secure. I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent as possible by following feeding schedules, walk routines, medication instructions, and household rules exactly as outlined. I am extremely respectful of your home and treat it with the same care I would my own. Cleanliness, security, and clear communication are very important to me. You can expect reliable updates, photos, and prompt responses while you’re away. My goal is to create a calm, low stress experience so your pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for in their familiar space.

About: I've personally had dogs for over 20+ years. My pack has been as small as 1, but as large as 5. I've been active in rescue groups and truly feel like dogs are the answer for any sadness. I've recently lost my soul dog after a 2 year struggle with cancer. My heart isn't ready for another dog, so I am hoping I can still get my cuddles in and help people out in the meantime. I've become a pro at giving medicine, so if you need a midday dose giver, Im your gal! I'm a realtor, so my schedule is pretty flexible. I can make most days or evenings work. Whatever your pup needs, I can make it happen! I follow orders, so I won't put your dog into a situation they aren't familiar with. I totally get all animals are different and respect how people work with their own.

We consider her family now. You can tell how much she adores the dogs she takes care of, she's taking care of two of mine. Current dog that she takes care of when I have to go out of town adores her. She house sits for me while I'm gone, and is very respectful of my home.

About: i am a reliable and trustworthy individual who will provide exceptional care and attention to your pets when you’re away. i’ve taken care of dogs since i was little and have always loved them. As each year has passed, i’ve taken care of more dogs along with other pets like guinea pigs, birds, fish and cats. i’m capable of taking care of senior dogs and ones with special needs. I know what it’s like to care for an old dog that struggles with certain things. they would still get the exact same amount of attention as any other dog would. i’m very compassionate when it comes to animals. your pets needs are first priority. they’re happiness is what matters most. any pet of yours will be loved on, cuddled and cared for with me looking after them i don’t have a job but i’m still quite busy helping my family out during the week with therapy/doctor appointments. my brother is handicapped and so he has to go to therapy a few days a week all the way up in cincinnati which takes half a day. im also helping homeschool my younger brothers during the week. in my opinion i know the weekends would work the best bc I’m usually not doing anything which means that i could have my full attention on your pet(s). however we could always talk in advance about the schedule and i could make take time during the week work if needed They’ll have my full attention. I will always play with them to get them to exercise and have some fun. I can also take them on walks and runs and take them out for potty breaks. if they need to be fed at a certain time or need any type of medicine then that is very important to know in advance. Also knowing if they get along with other people/pets. we don’t want anything bad happening so knowing anything and everything about your pet(s) in advance is highly recommended.

As of June 2026, there are 1,044 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Westport. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Westport. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Westport.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Westport. On Rover:

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
