My yard is not fenced; however, I can/do leash them up as often as needed for potty breaks and longer walks 1-2x daily (anywhere from 1.5-4 miles each go). I run too. My own dog is a little beyond his running days, so I use a jogger. Depending on your pup's activity level, they could run alongside me, or possibly hitch a ride in the stroller! In Your Home (house sitting or drop ins): I am happy to abide by your current schedule, making the transition of your trip easy on your fur babies.
