Brittany is a gem and we are so grateful we found her. She treats your pets like her own. Dependable, trustworthy and just a nice human. We are so happy we have a sitter for our “not so easy to handle” dog. He loves her and so do we!

Debi is wonderful! This was another stay for our girl Piper with her, and once again we felt completely comfortable knowing Piper was in such caring hands. Debi is warm, attentive, reliable, and genuinely cares about the dogs she watches. She also took great care of our home and grounds and sent wonderful pictures and updates throughout the entire time we were gone.It means so much to be able to leave Piper and not worry about her—and Piper is always happy and comfortable with Debi. We’re so grateful to have found her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their dog. Thank you, Debi! ❤️🐾

Morgan was an amazing sitter and was so flexible and accommodating last minute for New Years Eve. I was nervous about my old big guy because he’s only ever stayed with two other people but I could tell he took to Morgan quickly. She kept me updated and was so kind and caring. I’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Debra was fantastic!! Our pup took to her right away, made him and us feel completely at ease right away. She was so accommodating to our our needs, our pup doesn't like to be alone much, and she spent so much time with him, walked him often and put up with his awful snoring at night with no complaints. We got lots of pictures and updates throughout each day which we appreciated! She came to our home for 4 days and left it in perfect shape. Highly recommend Debra, she is very kind and has a calm spirit, which our pup meshed with perfectly. We look forward to booking her again for all of our trips❤

Ronny is everything one could want in a pet sitter and house sitter! He is professional, courteous, communicative, and most important of all, amazing with pets. I loved my updates and photos while I was away for three weeks, and I could count on him to keep me up to date with what was going on for his safety and my cat’s safety during some heatwaves/storms. I could tell my cat was relaxed and happy with her buddy around. 10/10 would recommend.

About: I received my Bachelor's Degree in Animal Studies from Wilson College. I was a Kennel Technician at a boarding facility as well as a doggy daycare for a few years. I am currently a Veterinary Assistant at an Animal Clinic. I enjoy taking care of animals and providing the best care. I work full time during the week, but I am available weekends and can provide pet care during the evenings after work depending on location. Depending on the needs of the animal, I will provide the proper care as per the owners request. I like to know specific details to make everyone feel comfortable.

Annalize is a great provider who demonstrates compassionate care for animals. We left three dogs, two cats, two chinchillas in her care for the weekend. One of the dogs is very elderly and needs a lot of hands on care. Annalize brought it, and kept everyone cool, comfy, fed, and happy. I would recommend her highly.

This was our first time using Rover and what a great experience it was. Mallory was able to help us out in a pinch. We needed a sitter for about three days/nights and were easily able to put together a schedule that worked for the both of us. Mallory was so attentive to not only Jesper’s needs, but ours and made us feel nothing but comfortable throughout the entire experience. We received photos and updates several times a day. Will 100% be booking again, couldn’t recommend Mallory enough!

About: Hello! I'm Anna, and dogs have been a cherished part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up surrounded by dogs, I've developed a deep understanding and love for these incredible companions. Friends and family have consistently entrusted me with the care of their pets, knowing that I treat each one as if they were my own. Last year, I rescued my own puppy, Roo, who has brought immense joy and valuable lessons into my life. Through this experience, I've gained firsthand knowledge about the nuances of pet care. I've worked with dogs of all ages, from playful puppies to senior dogs, and I understand the unique needs at each stage of their lives. Handling dogs with reactivity and separation anxiety issues has been part of my journey. I've collaborated with several professional trainers to learn effective techniques for managing these challenges, ensuring that every dog I care for feels secure and happy. My goal is to go above and beyond in providing exceptional care for your beloved pets. I understand how special they are to you, and I'm committed to making sure they receive the best care possible. Whether it's a daily walk or pet sitting while you're away, you can trust that your furry friend is in experienced and loving hands. Caring for pets is a natural part of my daily routine. I take my personal dog, who is incredibly friendly to every dog, on long walks or hikes every day, so adding an additional furry friend to our adventures would be a seamless fit. Despite working part-time, I spend most of my free time at home, playing with and caring for my puppy. This allows me to be flexible and available for multiple pet care visits throughout the day if needed. With a vehicle at my disposal, I can easily drop by your home to ensure your pet gets the attention and care they deserve, whenever required. Caring for Pets in My Home: I live in a cozy apartment, which is a perfect option for smaller pets to stay comfortably. My own dog, Roo, is incredibly friendly and enjoys the company of other pets. Roo can join us on walks, in the home, and even during drop-ins if you’re comfortable with it. If needed, I can also crate your dog to ensure their safety and comfort while in my home. Caring for Pets in Your Home: When I visit your home, I ensure your pet has everything they need for a safe and enjoyable experience. For walks, I provide all necessary tools, including a belt leash that offers several points of contact for added security. If desired, I can work on leash etiquette to help your dog develop better walking habits. During hikes, I keep your dog on a leash at all times and practice safety measures, ensuring they have plenty of water and rest. My goal is to provide a trustworthy and safe environment, whether your pet is staying with me or I’m caring for them in your home. I strive to make each experience positive and enjoyable for your beloved furry friend.

It was a real blessing to find Emily and I will definitely call her the next time I have to travel! I can highly recommend her as a responsible and caring dog sitter!

FAQs for House Sitting - West Hill

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 459 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across West Hill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in West Hill. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
