“Kimberly was available to drop in on super short notice. Roxy always seems so happy when I come back home and I can tell she was well taken care of. Thank you!”

About: I have been helping out family, friends and neighbors for years. Whether the animals come to my place or I go to theirs. My sister and I had 2 Yorkie mixes that were 15 and 17 years old with special diets/needs. So following food plans/exercises is important to me. I’ve cared for dogs that have ranged all sizes (German shepherd, wheaten terrier, Yorkie mixed, bully mix, and a few more) and ages. I have a full time job and I’m looking for something parttime. I work Monday through Friday from 6a-230p so I would be able to assist anytime after I get off. I would be available anytime on the weekends. I do live with my older sister, her name is Courtney. She would be helping me out some days (I have a picture of her in my profile). We do have a fenced in yard, which during the spring/summer time we will keep the back door open to allow the dogs to go out as much as they would like. The surrounding dogs in our suburb area are friendly but I always still treat it with caution. Dogs are allowed on the couch/bed (if this is something you are okay with).
About: My property has 1-acre of fenced space where your pup can run around until their heart’s content. If you have a senior pup, a young puppy, or a dog with complex medical needs, you have found the right home. Having loved and cared for my own Akitas through major health challenges—including blindness—I am completely comfortable managing complex medication schedules, topical treatments, oral meds, and injections. As an experienced dog and puppy foster (who even once fostered a litter of nine puppies!), I understand canine body language and know how to support anxious or transitioning pets. Rest assured, your pup will be cared for and welcomed with open arms no matter their situation. Pet care is my full-time job right now. I am generally away from the home for no more than a couple of hours, and if I do need to be away for longer, I will ensure you are aware in advance. I have a fenced backyard and three dogs of my own who will keep your pup company. My own dogs are a senior male, fully blind American Akita, an adult female pug mix, and a male puppy pug mix (the adult female’s puppy). I ensure all dogs are kept separate during mealtime and, as needed, during playtime where dog toys may be involved. I have crates and playpens, extra dog dishes, and plenty of indoor and outdoor toys for your pup to use as much or as little as they want. My own dogs love to cuddle and sleep on the couch and bed, and your pup is welcome to as well, as long as it’s okay with you. I’m happy to provide updates throughout your pup’s stay based on a frequency you’d prefer to ensure you feel comfortable with their time in my care.
“Madelyn did a great job on the Drop in Visits for my fur babies! She sent me updates and made sure they were well taken care of. I definitely recommend her and will be booking with her in the future.”

About: I’ve always had a natural connection with animals and love getting to know each pet’s individual personality. I’m patient, dependable, attentive, and comfortable caring for dogs with different energy levels and temperaments. I understand that some pets need extra time to warm up, while others are ready to play right away, and I always follow their lead. I’ll treat your pet like my own and make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I own a small all natural skincare business and pet care fits right into my schedule. Good things it’s something I love to go do! I care for every pet based on their normal routine, personality, and comfort level. During walks, I focus on safety, exercise, and letting your dog enjoy their time at their own pace. For sitting and in-home stays, I follow feeding, potty, medication, and household instructions closely, keep their environment clean and secure, and make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship. I also provide regular updates so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is safe and well cared for while you’re away.

My Services 🐾 Dog Boarding 🐾 House Sitting 🐾 Drop-In Visits 🐾 Dog Walking Pet care is already a natural part of my everyday life. As the owner of a 5 yr old Frenchie, my days already revolve around walks, feeding, playtime, enrichment, and making sure my own dog is happy and healthy. Because caring for dogs is something I genuinely enjoy, it’s easy to incorporate additional pets into my daily routine. I plan my schedule so every dog gets the attention, exercise, and one-on-one care they deserve. Whether it’s an early morning walk, midday potty break, afternoon play session, or evening cuddle time, I make sure each pet receives consistent care and plenty of affection. I truly love spending time with animals! I care for every pet as if they were my own. I know how important it is to keep pets comfortable, so I do my best to maintain their normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, potty breaks, medications (if needed), and lots of love and attention. I pay close attention to each pet’s personality because some dogs love to play all day, while others are happiest relaxing with belly rubs and cuddles. In a client’s home, I treat their space with the same respect I would want for my own. I make sure pets feel safe in their familiar environment, keep everything clean and tidy, and provide regular updates with photos and messages so owners can enjoy their time away without worrying. When pets stay in my home, they become part of the family. They receive plenty of supervision, affection, exercise, and a safe, comfortable place to relax. I keep plenty of clean toys, orthopedic beds and blankets on hand so your pet feels at home. My goal is always to make them feel loved and at home.

“Samantha did a great job checking in on our cat, Louie. On a previous vacation, he came to a cat with a UTI because the person we hired (not through Rover.com) did not clean his box properly. Samantha kept us up to date on how Louie was doing and kept his boxes clean. We came home from vacation to a happy and healthy cat. I will definitely use Samantha again!”

About: I grew up around furry friends and adore them. At the family house we dog sit all the time. I am honored with any amount of time I get to spend with animals! I am looking to do this full time. “Sahara was prompt to our meet and greet and on time for the first visit. Communication was excellent and response time was less than 15 min for every message I had with them. The amount of detail in the visit card was great and the photos were good to have. Nova was very excited to meet Sahara and my wife and I are looking forward to many more drop in visits.”

“Justice was absolutely amazing! She did a meet & greet before dogsitting in our home for our 3 dogs while we were away for the weekend. Left great notes & put up pictures of our dogs, and really took them time to make them all comfortable. We would definitely book with her again!”

“Sydnie is a life saver! I asked for her help at last minute ages she immediately was happy to take care of my senior dog, she is trusted and a person I will definitely consider for the future”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wesley Chapel
Alexa was amazing!! She played and played with Molly and it seemed like Calypso was really enjoying the affection from the pictures (Calypso usually doesn’t get along with new people)! I can’t thank Alexa enough for the great care, clear communication after each drop-in, and pictures! Will definitely ask her again next time we need someone to watch the girls!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
