“Responsive, professional, very accommodating, highly dedicated and most importantly very good with my dog. Even my cat likes her--which is unusual. Best sitter I've had bar none. A lot of the sitters on here just seem to sort of vegetate, but Shannon is very active with the pets and genuinely seems to have a genuine passion for the job. Highly recommend.”

About: Currently I am a stay at home mom. My husband, Eric and I enjoy pet sitting on the side. He’s a huge animal lover too. We make a great team, providing round the clock care for your pet during their stay in our home. I previously worked in an animal hospital for 7 years as a licensed veterinary technician and professional dog sitter. I'm very comfortable around all types of animals and love them all very much. I will make your pet's health and safety a priority while they are in my care. I feel very comfortable handling any emergencies and/or health related issues that may arise. I also feel very comfortable administering medications, injections, fluid therapy etc. for pet that would require such attention. We understand leaving your pet with someone you don’t know is a hard thing to do so, a couple things to note about our home: If you choose to book with us, we have 3 very small children (5 and under) and their safety is our top priority. Our home can be loud at times, there are toys on the floor 90% of the time, dishes in the sink, and general chaos that comes with raising toddlers. However, please know that your pet is going to a home that is so FULL of love. We absolutely care for them as if they were our own. We will hug them, sleep by them, sneak them a snack or two, play outside and have lots and lots of fun together. We don’t get bent out of shape over dog hair on the floor or potty accidents because all messes can be cleaned up. We are honored you would consider us to care for your pet, and we will do everything we can to make sure your fur baby is comfortable and happy during their stay in our home. Being a stay at home mom, I am able to be home almost everyday. This allows me to offer boarding and day care any day of the week. I’m also available for most holidays! I have a fenced yard and two friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company. I can easily crate your dog if needed. I feel confident that should a medical emergency arise, my medical background would allow me to handle the situation as best as possible.
About: I am also a dog parent and have been for over 12 years. My fur babies consume most my days and why not spread the happiness! I have walked and cared for others here in town and have been given great compliments and encouragement to help others thru this app since it's convenient and trusted! My routine mostly revolves around my fur babies. Morning we spend 2.5 -3 hours exercising exploring and making friends. Afternoon and night time another 30-45 min each one for potty and walk. It'll be very easy to include your pups they'll love the activities and best of all find some of what they're looking for 💚 In home ... each have bed/ room/ crate to be in. In your home i will care for your pet as you requested. Feeding the amount as per pet parent, meds or crate as per owner request
About: Senior care experience! I've adopted multiple dogs at 10+ yrs old from the local pounds and made sure they had the best senior care experience possible. I currently have 2 dogs, both spayed and absolutely love other dogs. A Corgi (Ruby) who is 9 and a Maltipoo (Joplin) who will be 2 this year. The poo was adopted from a kill shelter in TX (and one before her from the same area as well). We've lost 4 dogs in 2 yrs due to old age, 3 within 6 months. Hard pill to swallow but I love them all and would LOVE to love yours too! I am a stay-at-home dog mom. I have all the time in the world to take care of your babies! Believe me when I say they will come home all tuckered out :) I have a fenced in back yard and 2 VERY friendly dogs to keep your pups very much entertained! In your home (if a dog sitter in home is required) you can expect all of their daily schedules to be fulfilled.
“Chris handled our quirky springer spaniel with such patience and kindness. He is reliable and a great communicator. Kept us informed through whole process. We will be booking him again and highly recommend.”

About: I’ve always been an animal lover, especially dogs. I’ve had dogs growing up all of my life and thought they bring so much joy to the world. Though they can be a lot of work, the fulfillment they bring is priceless. I have taken care of my own dogs and family friends for about 5 years including taking them on walks, potty training, bathing, and sometimes grooming. I’ve worked with puppies and middle aged dogs from a wide variety of breeds. I am currently in my gap year between undergrad and law school. My schedule is flexible as I can build walls around my study routine. Pet care can also fit into my routine of daily walks. When caring for my own or other pets, I like to give them as much attention and care as possible to avoid boredom and loneliness. I usually take my own dogs out to the bathroom or walks every 2 hours. I provide appropriate care depending on the need for the animal.
About: I am very experienced with all types of animals. I own and operate a small farm raising cattle, goats, and chickens. I have 5 dogs, outside cats, fish and a turtle. I am experienced with puppies as 3 of my dogs were puppies when I adopted them and one had puppies. I have a large area for animals to play and go on walks. I am very respectful of other people homes. I have had an extensive background check for my day job . Capable of following instructions and interacting with pets of all shapes and sizes. I am home every evening starting at 5 and home all day on weekends. I will make sure your pet has plenty of playful interactions and love. If your furrbaby stays at my farm, they will have plenty of new smells to sniff. In your home I will be respectful of your possessions and leave it as I found it. I can send pictures to let you know how your pet is doing while you're away.
About: I always grew up with cats but as I got older, have constantly been around dogs of all sizes as well. I currently do own one dog in our home too. I’m currently working part time and get to pick my own hours so I am very flexible! I can do some last minute pet care if the need should arise. I would be able to care for your pet in your own home. I can easily follow direction to make sure your pet is safe and comfy in their own home.
“Gabi did everything we asked her to do, and more! She did such an amazing job taking care of our dog. We knew we could trust her and relax on our trip and she did not disappoint. Would use her again in a heartbeat!”
“Drew was absolutely amazing, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our three dogs while we were on vacation. From the moment we connected, he was professional, kind, and incredibly attentive. He made sure our dogs were taken out regularly, kept them on their routine, and truly treated them like his own. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. Drew stayed overnight each night, which meant the dogs were comfortable and our home was well cared for too. On top of that, he kept the house in excellent condition, honestly, we came back to everything just as we left it (if not better!). He was also very responsive and kept us updated with messages and photos, which we really appreciated while we were away. It’s clear Drew genuinely cares about animals and goes above and beyond for the families he works with. We’re so grateful for the care he provided and would absolutely trust him again in a heartbeat. If you’re looking for someone reliable, respectful, and truly great with pets, I highly recommend booking Drew, you won’t regret it!”

“Amanda is great with my kiddos. Given we have a highly reactive dog, Amanda has made great strides with developing a closer connection and has been rewarded with Shelby loves. Highly recommend Amanda and will book again with her.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Welton
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 160 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Welton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Welton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Welton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Welton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Welton. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
