“Derrick did a fantastic job. The pups were happy, best of all he drew this AMAZING picture of them and left it on the fridge for me. They seemed content when I got home, happy to see me but content and that is priceless to me!”

About: Reliable and caring dog sitting you can trust. I provide a safe, comfortable environment where your dog gets plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while you’re away. Whether it’s daily visits or overnight care, I treat every dog like my own—keeping their routine consistent and giving you peace of mind with regular updates. I am currently taking some time off work due to a family situation, I love animals better than people most of the time and what better way to spend some of my down time - 😊 Caring for pets in your home first and foremost is respect for your setup and keep everything as I found it while ensuring the pet feels secure. I feel it's important to supervise interactions, especially with new animals, and watch for signs of stress, illness, or discomfort such as changes in appetite, behavior, or energy. Regular walks, playtime, and affection help pets feel comfortable, while clear communication with you the owner—updates, photos, and quick reporting of any concerns—builds trust and ensures the pet gets the best possible care.
“Shadae was an excellent sitter. She sent multiple photos and updates each day. Our dog and cat seemed very comfortable and cuddly with her. We would absolutely hire her again.”

About: I’ve always always had a soft spot in my heart for animals. My parents have always had a ton, from a bunch of different breeds of dogs to pigs, to chameleons, to bunnies. I’ve always had experience with animals, it’s odd if I don’t have one around! I have a kitty named Nala and a Cocker Spaniel named Goose. They are my pride and joy! I feel as though pet care is just as important as self care. Animals are there for us, as our support, therefore, they should be taken care of just as well. Making sure that your animal is not only healthy, but happy is a priority to me! Having a routine and making sure that all needs are met is a must. I feel as though your home is also your pets home, therefore, enabling them to have their own space is important. Also, making sure your animal is fed and watered and stimulated and energized plays a large role. Playing with toys or running around in the yard are both great ways of stimulating the brain!
“Alexandria was so sweet and kept me updated with pictures of Marley the whole time I was gone. She was so kind to keep everything nice and clean so I could just come home and snuggle Marley after my trip. I will most definitely hope to use her again in the future. Marley kept talking about how much he loved all the snuggles she gave him while I was gone!”
About: I am very skilled with animals ! I’ve grown up with showing and raising different kinds of animals my whole life ! It would be a pleasure to help care for yours ! I’m currently a server at a restaurant , I work a couple night shifts weekly ! During the day I am open and free ! I currently live in a nice neighborhood with our own fenced in yard ! I also have a dog which is a golden retriever and she loves other dogs !
About: I have grown up with all kinds of animals from a very young age. I’ve always thought that I liked spending time with animals more than people. And have always had a love for them. :) I work a part-time job that feels full time but that’s because I work with the public, however I’m trying to switch to something more flexible. Evenings work best for me but knowing ahead of time I can do mornings too. My cats have free roam as it’s equally their house, however I can put them away. If it’s your home I can do whatever is asked for me. For outside I have a lot of land but it’s open.
“Shakarra was great with our 2 dogs! They can be a lot but they loved her! She was very responsive and sent pictures. I was so grateful to have her here and take care of them!”

About: I have experience with a variety of breeds of dogs. I have owned dogs that are super high maintenance, dogs that love to lounge, anxiety ridden dogs, and dogs that are on the spicy side. I understand the different cues of dogs and how to read their body language. I have experience in walking multiple dogs. I also have experience in training dogs. I trained my Shetland Sheepdog for 4H and we made it to the state fair. I also taught him many silly tricks. I can be a professional fetch player or a professional cuddler, whichever your dog prefers. I can also just be a treat giver if your dog prefers space. I am currently working part time as a server, but my schedule is very flexible. I am a recently graduated college student, with the hopes of going to graduate school in the coming semester. Animal trust is very important to me. It is important that I earn you and your animals trust, and we can grow to be best friends or acquaintances if your animal is not into that. I hope to make your time away from your animal as easy as possible.

About: I have worked in the pet industry for 10 years. I have done everything from cleaning kennels, to working as a vet assistant in a clinic. I also have experience with farm and exotic animals. I currently don't have furbabies of my own, but I find them very therapeutic to interact with. Life is boring without furbabies in my life. I will enter the home as instructed by owners, and proceed in a professional manner. I will use my education as a vet assistant and future vet tech to ensure the animal(s) experience minimal upheaval of their daily routines.
About: Hello! I’m Olivia. What sets me apart from other caretakers is my lifelong experience and genuine love for animals. I’ve lived with pets my entire life and also worked as an animal caretaker in my hometown, so caring for animals is second nature to me. I have experience with a wide range of breeds and personalities—from large dogs like Rottweilers and Bernese Mountain Dogs, to energetic Australian Shepherds, to small breeds like teacup Schnauzers, as well as cats. I enjoy working with pets of all ages, whether that means helping with the extra care senior pets need or providing the patience and energy for puppies. I also provide discounted bathing. As a student with open availability, I’m flexible and able to dedicate plenty of time to the pets I care for. Above all, I truly love taking care of all creatures, human or not, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I have open availability for pet caretaking, which means I’m flexible and able to accommodate different schedules. As a student, I can easily adjust my time to fit your pet’s needs, whether that’s during the day, evenings, or weekends. In my home, I make sure pets feel comfortable and safe by giving them plenty of attention, playtime, and a calm environment. I follow their usual routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, play, and any special instructions from their owner. Pets are welcome to relax wherever they feel most at home, and I make sure they always have fresh water, a cozy spot to rest, and lots of love. In a client’s home, I treat the space with respect while keeping the pet’s comfort and safety my top priority. I maintain their normal routine so they feel secure, and I provide companionship, exercise, and care just as if they were my own. Whether it’s walks, feeding, or extra cuddle time, I make sure every pet gets the attention and care they need.
About: I own several animals which include cats, dogs, and a leopard gecko. I love animals, and I am good with feeding on time, bathroom breaks on time, and I love to spend quality time with animals! I am good with puppy and kitten care as well. I am a house cleaner as well, so it tends to mix in with the pet care. I am consistently taking care of myself, my house, and my animals. I walk my dog every day, I feed all of my animals at the same time every day, I keep regular vet appointments, and all of my animals are up to date on their vaccines and spay/neutering.

About: I have over a year of pet-sitting experience and have cared for animals throughout my life, including my own family pets. Animals have always held a special place in my heart, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with them. While I am not a professional pet trainer, I believe consistency, patience, and clear communication go a long way. I treat pets much like young children—helping reinforce good habits, routines, and expectations through positive guidance and repetition. I strive to maintain a structured environment with designated times for learning, exercise, play, and rest so that pets feel secure, engaged, and comfortable. For health reasons, I am sensitive to pet waste, so I can only accept pets that are potty trained or when waste-removal tools are provided. My goal is to ensure your pets feel safe, loved, well cared for, and happy while you’re away. While I do not have any special experience, I do have experience caring for cats and dogs and genuinely enjoy their company. One of the things I appreciate most about animals is that every one of them has a unique personality. Whether your pet is affectionate, independent, playful, talkative, or prefers to keep their distance, I am happy to respect their boundaries and care for them according to their comfort level. I get along well with most animals, including the occasional grumpy cat with a bit of attitude. As long as your pet is not operating under an “attack on sight” policy, we will probably get along just fine. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while maintaining their routine and giving them the attention they want—whether that means playtime, companionship, or simply a quiet presence nearby. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I currently have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate significant time and attention to the animals in my care. This flexibility enables me to maintain feeding schedules, provide regular walks and exercise, reinforce routines and positive behaviors, and ensure pets receive plenty of companionship throughout the day. Because I have greater availability right now than I may have in the future, I encourage interested pet parents to reach out while openings are available. I believe pets thrive when they have consistency, structure, and engagement. Whether your pet enjoys active play, quiet companionship, outdoor adventures, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I am committed to providing attentive care that helps them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you are away. My availability may change over time, but while I have room in my schedule, I look forward to building lasting relationships with both pets and their owners. Whether I am caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, my priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I follow feeding schedules, provide fresh water, take dogs on walks, give pets plenty of attention and companionship, and do my best to maintain their normal routines. I also make time for play and mental stimulation, as I believe happy pets are engaged pets. While I can certainly entertain pets on my own, toys and favorite activities are always appreciated and help create the best experience for them. If requested and permitted by the owner, I am also happy to assist with basic grooming tasks such as brushing and keeping coats looking neat between professional grooming appointments. I understand that every pet has a unique personality and comfort level, so I adjust my approach to meet their individual needs. Whether your pet wants to play all day, go on adventures, or simply relax with a companion nearby, I strive to provide patient, attentive care that helps them feel right at home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Waynetown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Waynetown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Waynetown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
