“Skylar was absolutely great! My two dogs, Oslo and Aspen enjoyed her company. She was very attentive to them and kept good communication with me. I feel like my pups were very happy and relaxed having her around for a couple hours while I was gone. I would trust her again in my home and with my two dogs.”

About: I'm a lawyer with one puppy who is my best friend! There will always be tons of snuggles and games here! I love all dogs and have always enjoyed puppy sitting. I have a full job during the week, but when I'm home we play! If your dog is ok with short periods in the kennel while boarding, that is is preferable, but not necessary! I have one mini dachshund puppy one year old and he loves to play! I have a small unfenced yard for potty breaks, but we can go in walks or to the dog park if your baby likes to run!
About: I've spent decades as a dog dad, raising springer spaniels, golden labs, and black labs – all active, intelligent breeds that need both physical exercise and mental stimulation. I also babysat a beagle every summer for years, so I'm comfortable with different energy levels and personalities. What sets me apart is my empathic approach and genuine understanding of what dogs need. I can read their body language and moods, whether they're anxious, playful, or just need a calm presence. Being retired means I have an open schedule and plenty of time for walks, play sessions, and just hanging out together – your dog won't be squeezed into a busy day. I know that every dog is an individual with their own quirks and routines, and I respect that. Your dog will get my full attention and the kind of care I've given my own pets for years. Being retired means pet care can be my daily routine! I have a completely open schedule with no other work commitments. My days are flexible and built around whatever your pet needs. The beauty of retirement is that I'm not trying to squeeze pet care into lunch breaks or evenings – I can give your pets the time and attention they deserve, whenever they need it. My priority is maintaining your pet's routine and keeping them safe and comfortable. Pets thrive on routine and familiarity. I'll stick to your pet's exact schedule – mealtimes, medications, favorite activities, where they like to sleep – so the only thing that changes is that you're not there. I'm empathic to how pets handle change, so I take time to let them adjust to me at their own pace. I'll treat your home like my home and send you updates so you have peace of mind while you're away.
“Travis was excellent. A true dog lover. Our dogs are Leary of strangers but they both took to Travis immediately. Travis was very responsive, respectful, knowledgeable about animals, and also inquired about if there was anything we wanted done. Gave immediate updates with pictures. Walked the dogs played with them. Wonderful young man. Would definitely recommend Travis.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for over 20 years. I have two fur babies, Tucker and Jax, so I truly understand how important trustworthy pet care is. I’ll treat your pets with the same love and attention I give my own. I work from home during the week until 4 p.m., so I’m mostly available Friday–Sunday. I can often be flexible on weekdays too, just reach out and I’ll do my best to make it work! Your pet’s comfort and safety are my top priorities. I make sure they feel secure in their own home and give them plenty of love, pets, and attention so they can relax while you’re away.
About: I have always had dogs growing up in many sizes. With my most recent dog, i worked with him to get over his past abuse issues and was able to train him many other things! I am a first year student at Lake Area Technical College, and am studying agricultural. With this I have classes throughout the day with many in between breaks where I can tend to your pet! I will treat your house like mine and along with your pets. I will make sure your home looks the same if not better than when I arrive.
“Samantha took great care of my two cats who are not very used to strangers. They were well cared for and were very content when I returned. Absolutely zero complaints and I would highly recommend Samantha.”

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
