About: My family lives in downtown Winchester where there are plenty of places to walk. Since I am in a new season of life (semi retired) I wanted to so something I love like walk more and take care of your pet(s). I have been a dog owner for 16 years. I have trained a puppy and helped my first dog all the way through elderly care. Three cats have touched my heart, two cats from kittens through elderly stages. I offer a quiet and comforting hand to all animals. Your companion(s) are God's gift to your family and I would be honored to take care of them. I am currently working part-time for the city transportation division but have a flexible schedule so I can take care of your pet(s). I am an early riser so I don't mind those pets who need morning care. That does mean I go to bed early so I would stop at 8pm. I am a respectful semi retired lady who loves animals. About: I have been dog sitting/ walking for several years. The most dogs I have handled at 1 time was 3. I own 2 small dogs myself how ever I have experience handling big dogs as well. I tried Rover once before; I selected a house sitter, and the person indicated she was staying, but I don't think she spent much time here; there was little sign of her living here and my cat was hysterical and needy when I returned. A young couple for house sitting is a good idea - they won't get lonely or bored by themselves. They were personable, responsible, and responsive, with good communication. They sent me lots of videos every day of my cat being content and entertained. My cat tends to be afraid of men, but she warmed right up to Jay, he was good with her. When I got home kitty greeted me as if I had only come home from the grocery store; she had been well taken care of. Alexia and Jay left the house clean and tidy. I offered to pay them extra for various chores around the house while they were sitting. They were happy to do them, and did a great job. I came home to a house better than how I'd left it. About: I’ve lived with pets all my life and currently have one indoor cat (spayed, friendly) and one dog (spayed, spends most time outside). I’ve done dog sitting for up to two weeks in the past and cat sitting for up to one month both in my home and at pet owners’ homes. Though I prefer felines as they’re easier to manage, small/medium dogs are certainly welcome — as long as they’re not too vocal. I am a long distance runner and hiker, so no walking distance is too far for me! My arm strength does have a limit, so any dogs over 30 pounds who pull/aren’t fully leash trained are a no-go. Additionally, I’ve done pet sitting for guinea pigs and rabbits for 1-3 day periods! I work part time and do most work from home, so I’m continuously available all week. My home is right next to the W&OD trail, so walks are convenient all times of day and the trail is never crowded. I’m always happy to drive pets to the trail as well. My cat remains entirely indoors, but the dog has endless pits of energy and so spends lots of time outside. We have two fenced areas, one specifically for the dog and another for the pool, along with ~1 acre of unfenced yard.
