About: I currently work at a boarding and grooming facility, which gives me daily hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I’m experienced with feeding routines, handling energetic and shy pets, recognizing dog behavior, and maintaining a safe environment. I’m also familiar with giving baths and nail trims. My goal is to make every pet feel comfortable, secure, and cared for. I’ve always had a deep love for animals and truly enjoy caring for them as if they were my own. My schedule allows me to provide consistent care throughout the week. I’m available early mornings, evenings, and during my lunch break on workdays, with full availability on Saturdays, Sundays, and Tuesdays. I specialize in drop-in visits, dog walking, and selective house sitting when my schedule allows. I make sure pets get attentive care, exercise, and companionship, and I always keep pet parents updated with photos and communication. Your pet’s comfort and safety are my top priorities, and I treat every animal like they’re my own. When caring for pets during drop-in visits, I focus on keeping them comfortable by maintaining their normal routine in their own home. I provide fresh water, feeding, potty breaks, playtime, exercise, and plenty of attention based on each pet’s individual needs and personality. I’m also comfortable administering medications when needed and always follow owner instructions carefully. I understand how important peace of mind is when you’re away, so I’m happy to provide updates and photos throughout my visits. My experience working at a boarding and grooming facility has given me hands-on experience with a variety of pets and has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and attentive care.

About: Hi! My name is Elly, and I’m currently a college student at Kirkwood. I have hands on experience working at an animal hospital as a kennel attendant, where I cared for both cats and dogs. My responsibilities included feeding, administering medications, providing playtime, and taking pets out for potty breaks. I also grew up on a farm, so I’m comfortable working with larger animals and understand the responsibility and care they require. I’ve always been a huge animal lover. I’ve owned a variety of pets including a hedgehog, ferrets, and currently a Mini Australian Shepherd. My boyfriend also has three dogs, so I’m very used to being around and managing multiple dogs at once. I love staying active through hikes and long walks, and I’m very comfortable handling energetic pets. If you’re looking for someone reliable, trustworthy, and genuinely passionate about caring for your pets like they’re my own, I’d love the opportunity to help! I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide consistent and reliable pet care. I attend a mix of online and in person classes 2 days a week, which gives me plenty of availability throughout the rest of the week. I also work part time as a waitress in Iowa City 2–3 days a week, typically during evening hours. Because of this, I’m especially available during mornings, afternoons, and overnight for pet care. I’m originally from central Illinois, so I do occasionally travel there in my free time, but I always plan ahead and keep my availability updated to ensure I can fully commit to the pets I’m caring for. Overall, I’m able to offer flexible scheduling and will always communicate clearly to make sure your pet’s needs are fully covered. When caring for pets, my main goal is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. In a client’s home, I follow your pet’s regular feeding schedule, provide fresh water, and maintain a clean environment this includes litter box care for cats and regular potty breaks for dogs. I make sure each pet gets the attention they need based on their personality. For cats, that may be playtime, enrichment, or calm companionship. For dogs, I provide walks, exercise, and interaction to keep them happy and active. I’m comfortable administering medications for both cats and dogs and use a calm, patient approach especially with shy, nervous, or high energy pets. I also monitor their behavior, appetite, and overall well-being, and I keep owners updated so you always know how your pet is doing. In my own home, I provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. With my background in animal care including rescued cats and experience around multiple dogs I’m confident handling a variety of temperaments and needs. My goal is always to make your pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for like they’re my own while you’re away.

About: I have been asked by many friends to care for dogs, cats, birds, lizards and houseplants. One time, I had to give dialysis treatment to a poor girl who got bit by a snake! Another time, I was asked to let a cat out until he returned home. I've moved a lot recently, and am looking forward to settling down so I can establish a zoo. Until then, I'm looking forward to taking good care of your non-human friends and family. I'll be available most days throughout the summer. My landlord doesn't allow pets, otherwise I would board as well. Just let me know what you need and when! Animals have different personalities and needs. So it all depends, but love and attention are always a must. I've given medical treatments to dogs, including diabetes injections and have give cats baths, if that says anything. Some dogs like it when I jog with them, others want a slower pace. So, it all depends on the situation.

About: I have taken care of animals for as long as I can remember! I am constantly around animals and having to commit myself to taking care of them. I am comfortable around all dogs and cats and am willing to adapt and learn how to best care for your pet. I am currently available Monday-Friday for drop-ins and house sittings when needed! I am also flexible and can accept last minute bookings. When in your home, I would love to take your fur babies for walks, for dog parks, anything you already do with them to make them the most comfortable! I make sure each pet receives reliable care at the same times each day, along with attention and companionship. I care for pets in my clients’ homes by following their established routines to keep pets comfortable and stress-free. About: It is a dream of mine to become a veterinarian. I am actually currently attending school to become a veterinary technician first, and I have been working at a vet’s office for about 2 years, although I have been shadowing for 3 years. I have always grown up with pets, whether it be farm animals or indoor cats and dogs. I love all animals, and it’s my dream to be able to help and care for them! I’m currently working full-time at Knox Pet Clinic as a vet assistant. I work 7am-5pm Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. About: I have had extensive pet care experience over the years. I have cared for both dogs and cats, as well as smaller animals like rabbits and hamsters. I have experience with both indoor and outdoor pets, and I am comfortable with administering medication if needed. In my previous job, I was responsible for feeding, walking, and playing with the pets under my care. I also kept an eye on their health and reported any concerns to their owners. I am passionate about providing the best possible care for animals and I enjoy spending time with them. Well, pet care is an essential part of our daily and weekly routines, especially for pet owners like me. When it comes to taking care of our pets, we need to ensure that they are healthy, happy, and safe. This means providing them with proper nutrition, exercise, grooming, and veterinary care. As a pet owner, my daily pet care routine involves feeding my pet, giving them fresh water, and taking them for a walk or providing them with playtime. Additionally, I take some time to clean up after my pet, such as cleaning their litter box or picking up after them outside. Weekly pet care routines can involve much more, like giving my pet a bath, cleaning their bedding or cage, and checking for any potential health issues or concerns. I also make it a point to play with my pet and teach them new tricks during the week to keep them mentally stimulated and happy. Overall, pet care is a responsibility that pet owners like myself need to take seriously. By incorporating daily and weekly routines, we can ensure that our pets continue to thrive and live healthy, happy lives. Well, I think my approach to caring for my pets at home is pretty comprehensive. Firstly, I make sure to provide them with a clean environment, which means their area and kennel is cleaned as well as, beddings are changed regularly. I also make sure they have access to plenty of fresh water and nutritious food. In terms of exercise and playtime, I schedule a set amount of time each day for interactive play and exercise, in addition to walks outdoors. This keeps them happy, healthy and stimulated both physically and mentally. I also prioritize their medical needs by ensuring they receive regular checkups and vaccinations as needed. This proactive approach helps to prevent health problems down the line. Overall, I believe that providing a safe and nurturing environment, plenty of exercise and playtime, and proactive medical care are all key to caring for pets in a responsible and effective way.
