About: Animals have always been a part of my life. I’ve rescued many and cared for cats and dogs for years, treating each one like family with love and safety. For everyone’s well-being, please make sure if your pet isn’t spayed or neutered, just let me know so I can plan one-on-one time for their comfort. To help them feel at home, please bring their usual food and a favorite toy for their stay. I’m fully available and happy to accommodate your schedule. Preferred drop-off and pick-up times are 8 AM, noon, or 5 PM, but I’m flexible if you need a different time. The only thing you need to bring is your dog’s food for the duration of their stay. If you’d like, you’re also welcome to bring their toy to help them feel more comfortable and at home. I have a dog-designed living room where pets sleep in kennels for comfort and routine. I also have a TV where I play soft, calming music to help them stay relaxed. I have a large backyard where dogs are taken out to play 3–4 times a day. During these breaks, they go potty and enjoy supervised play. If dogs get along and are a good match, they may play with other dogs one-on-one. For safety reasons, all dogs are taken outside using a secure tether at all times. This helps prevent escapes and ensures close supervision.
About: I know that you have many options for care. I have been working through Rover since early 2020 and would like to share some information about myself. I made the decision to take an early retirement after twenty-two years at Northwestern State University when my husband and I relocated to Shreveport and both of our children went off to college. This move gave me the opportunity to pursue a job that I ❤️ and am passionate about. I believe dogs and cats are the most awesome of Earth's creatures, and, in my eyes, are such precious members of our families. I am a long-time dog and cat owner and currently a parent to three rescued dogs. I also was an active volunteer and Board Member for Natchitoches Hope for Paws dog rescue from 2012 to 2022. During this time, I worked with 150+ rescued dogs at the site and through the foster program. I found so much pleasure and enjoyment working as a rescue volunteer and wanted to expand my love and care of these most precious of animals. As a volunteer, I cleaned kennels, administered medications, walked and played with dogs, worked with basic training techniques and leash walking, and evaluated and monitored dog behaviors and personalities for proper socialization and integration with other dogs including aggressive and high anxiety dogs. I treat all animals as if they are my own. I love all fur babies big, small, young, and old. I am available at any time and since I am retired, I am able to provide drop-in services, walks, and overnight care (for socialized and house trained dogs who are current on all shots and flea/tick preventives), including medication administration and care for aggressive and high-anxiety dogs. I have no problems with cleaning up accidents and will ensure that your home stays clean of messes. I am also a firm believer in sending pictures while you are away so you can be comforted that your dog (or cat) is receiving nothing but the upmost care and love while you are away. No requested service is to great or small! I would welcome the opportunity to help you with care needs for your fur babies! Since I am retired, I am available at any time for drop-ins, walks, and overnight boarding (socialized and house trained only). I am also able to work around flexible and changing schedules. I live in a house with a large fully fenced backyard and have a doggy door which allows the dogs to move freely in and out of the house as they desire.
“Thank you so much for taking care of King again! You are the absolute best hands down! I highly recommend your services to everyone asking! Thanks again and see you next trip! ♥️”

“I HIGHLY recommend Jamie! Jamie has Shasta over for doggy daycare and she was so attentive, took Shasta on walks (yes - PLURAL), and played with her in the backyard throughout the day. Her and her family were so attentive of Shasta, and Shasta was so happy to run to the door in the mornings when we dropped her off. Jamie gave us peace of mind, and made us feel very safe and comfortable knowing our puppy was in good hands. I will definitely be calling Jamie back for more daycare !!! Thank you 💛🤗”

About: I have cared for and had dogs and cats all my life. There has never been a time in my life that I have not had multiple animals. I would love to take care of your pet! I have decided to do this because I know from personal experience how hard it is to go on vacation or to leave town for an emergency and have no one to care for my pets. I enjoy all types of animals. I will provide a safe environment for your special companion. I will give your pet special attention and care to make them less anxious in your absence. Please consider me when looking for a safe place for your fur-babies. I look forward to caring for them! ~Kim I do not work away from home. I am home taking care of my animals and would love to care for yours so that they get the best care possible in your absence. If your dog is accustom to staying in your home then thats where it will stay here. If not, I have 2 outside kennels and one air conditioned/heated kennel. I love animals and will treat them as if they are my own.

I’m very respectful of a client’s space and treat it like I’d like someone to treat my home.

“I left my dog with Susan during the day for five days when I was visiting the coast. She was wonderful! He's a picky little guy but he loved being at Susan's house. She showered him with love and attention. Definitely recommend her.”

“Sierra was fantastic! We are from out of town, in the area for a funeral. She took our 2 dogs for a day so we could attend the service and family time. Much appreciated! Would use her again if we're back in the area!”

“One of the sweetest, most passionate-for-animals people I’ve ever met! Melanie took wonderful care of my husky and I felt confident he was in a safe, loving environment. I received lots of photos from his stay which made me incredibly happy!”
About: Pet sitting is awesome because I want to spend time with as many wonderful pets as I can. I'll treat them just as well as I would like my pets to be treated since I know how important they are. Prior to Good Dog, I would pet sit for family, friends and neighbors. They deserve the best care even the little rambunctious ones. I have been working and volunteering in pet care for years. Interacting with any animal makes me happy but bunnies will always have a special place in my heart. Regardless of whether they have fur or scales I treat my pets, and other’s pets as family members who need just as much love and emotional care as they do physically. Thank you for this opportunity
