“Sara is awesome! She’s reliable, great with our dogs and very thorough in making sure our pups had what they needed. We were able to enjoy a long day away from the dogs without stressing. Thanks so much Sara!”

About: I have watched beloved family pets for many friends and family during my life time. Being an animal lover myself, I know that your pets are family and I make sure to treat them as such! Growing up with family dogs and cats, and currently our funky boxer dog Rufus, I know what it takes to be a successful animal sitter and how much love they need. I work a full time job, from 9-4:30 pm Monday-Friday with the exception of one remote day on Wednesdays. Most pets are used to this schedule. I will ensure they will have potty breaks first thing in the morning, during my lunch break at 1, and then once I return to the home at 5. And then several throughout the evening and before bed. I will care for your pet in the environment they feel the safest in… your home. By allowing your animal to remain at home, it eases their stress and anxiety and gives them a comforting feel of familiarity. No need to pack up enough food and treats for the week. I will be happy to follow your thorough instructions on how to care for your pet.

About: I’ve always loved being around animals and understand that every pet deserves patience, kindness, and plenty of attention. Whether it’s going for walks, playtime, feeding, or simply keeping your pet company, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away. I’m reliable, responsible, and committed to following your pet’s routine and any special instructions you provide. I know every pet has a unique personality, and I take the time to make them feel comfortable and loved. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes and energy levels, and I’m happy to help with puppies who need extra patience, as well as senior pets who may require a slower pace and additional care. My goal is to treat every pet like they’re part of my own family, giving you peace of mind while you’re away. Pet care fits well into my weekly routine alongside my part-time job. I’m most available during the mornings, making them the perfect time for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, and playtime. I also have flexibility in the afternoons and can often accommodate additional visits when needed. I always do my best to be reliable, communicate clearly, and work with pet owners to find a schedule that meets both their needs and their pet’s routine. My goal is to provide dependable, loving care whenever you need an extra hand. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I carefully follow your instructions, including feeding schedules, walking routines, medication (if needed), and any special care your pet requires. I make sure pets always have fresh water, plenty of attention, and a safe, clean environment while you’re away. During walks, I keep dogs securely leashed, avoid unsafe situations, and pay close attention to their behavior and surroundings. In your home, I’ll treat your property with respect, keep everything tidy, and provide regular updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and well cared for.

About: Hi! I am a current Veterinary Assistant, and former Surgery Tech/Animal Behavior volunteer. I have had cats and other pets my entire life, and have tons of experience with pet sitting of all types, and as a dog walker for an animal shelter and another walking service app. I can administer any medications, as I do that every day all day at work. I am accustomed to all types of medical and behavioral needs. I have all kinds of relevant experience but the most important thing is that I can provide safe, reliable, and dedicated care for your pet while you're away. I know how stressful it is to trust your pet and potentially your home with a stranger, but I can assure you, they are in the best hands with me. I will respect your home, your rules, and your pet! I work Wednesdays through Saturdays, and am off Sundays through Tuesdays, and will be fully available during those days. I have no other commitments during those off days. I have only 2 hamsters, so I can provide tons of attention to your pet! I can board cats at my place, but otherwise I can do dog sitting at yours, and can do stop-in visits or just walks. Whatever your pet needs to be comfortable. I am flexible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
