We booked Rose when looking for a house sitter for one night at the last minute. Our dogs seemed to take to Rose very quickly and when we returned home it seemed like we hadn't left, which is exactly what we wanted! Rose was kind and professional and sent us multiple photos of our dogs during the trip. There were also no issues at all with our house as everything seemed just as it was when we left. Highly recommend!

Our house was left in great condition, and we could tell our dogs were in excellent hands. We would definitely use Ashley again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible and caring pet sitter. The dogs look forward to having her care for them again soon!

I want to make your pets feel at home even when you are away. I would want the best from my boy when I am away, so I want to provide that service to others! I am full-time employee so I can stop in before and after work on weekdays, and I am free weekends for endless playing ! About: I have 5 years of experience working at a kennel as a kennel technician. In this position I worked with all different breeds and ages of dogs. I learned how to take care of dogs with all sorts of health needs depending on their abilities and conditions. I have no problem with any dogs and I love working with them! I'm working a full time job but I am able to do overnight on weekends (thursday through Monday since I work from home sometimes) and I can yelp out throughout the week after normal work hours. I am comfortable with whatever specific needs your dog has. I have no problem crating a dog, walking a dog, hanging out, whatever is needed for your specific pet, I am willing and able to do.

I make frequent stops at home during the work day as I’m only 10 minutes from home to let my dogs out of my parents aren’t home. I have an electric fence however dogs would be put on leash. My cats have all their necessities in my room so the pet I would be pet sitting for would stay in the guest bedroom in the basement with me to avoid troubles.

About: I grew up with many pets. For example, I’ve had 6 birds, 3 hamsters, 1 dwarf gerbil, 1 leopard gecko, 2 cats, 2 dogs, and possibly more. I currently have 2 dogs. Both are rescues. Jasper is 2 years old and I’ve had him since he was about a month old if even that, and Raleigh who is 7 now. I’ve had her since she was 2. Aside from the doggy babies, I also currently have a brown anole that I took in from Florida. His name is Tommy and I’ve had him for 4 months now. He was a baby when I found him. I also have 2 fish, Gumball and Penny. I personally believe all animals are babies. I’ve also pet sit for family members before. I’m currently working part time and I’m not yet in school. I do have a lot of free time, and because I don’t live alone I have people home to help take care of my furry and scaled friends, where as some people may need some extra help that I’d be able to provide! I was raised right. I’m respectful, do not cross boundaries, and know better than to disrespect clients (human and animal, of course!) I’m a big empath, I love animals beyond comprehension. I’m a vegetarian that’s working my way to veganism if that can show you how empathetic I am. I also cry while watching Ratatouille. I love walking, I love talking to animals, I treat animals as if they are literal babies because they are just too cute!

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. Growing up with dogs taught me exactly how to read their body language and give them the care, attention, and love they deserve. I treat every furry guest just like my own, making sure they stay happy, active, and fully comfortable while you're away I’m currently working a full-time job, but I work remotely every other week which gives me some spare time and I’d love to use it to spend with some dogs. I do have two kids ages three and eight both love dogs. I don’t have any dogs in my own, but I plan to get one and then your future however I was in our home with four dogs at a time

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a kid. I had a golden growing up for 15 years and now have a dog of my own! I love going on long walks with dogs who need it, playing fetch, and giving lots of scritches and love! No dog is too small or too big for me. Happy to accommodate anything your pet needs! I’m currently working part time and have a very flexible schedule. I work in VA and living MD so I’m really all over the map. I would prefer any time after 3 but can also come in the mornings with enough heads up. I do not have a fenced in back yard but do have a nice trail to walk on and get some energy out. I also have a lead in the backyard to keep the dogs safe and not escape if they would like to roam freely. My coonhound has been just fine with the set up! I also have a crate if preferred. My dog is friendly with others and loves other dogs!

About: Lifelong animal person with 25+ years as a multi-pet owner and caregiver. I provide calm, attentive, and genuinely affectionate care, always following each pet’s personality and comfort cues. I’ve cared for puppies through senior pets, including administering medications, bathing, and daily care routines. Experienced with boarding pets in my home, transporting cats long distances, and creating safe, enriching environments (I’ve even built pet furniture). I’m also comfortable caring for fish, birds, reptiles, and other small animals. Responsible, observant, and a little over-the-top in the attention department — your pet won’t just be watched, they’ll be known. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets consistent attention throughout the day. I'm available for walks, drop-ins, and extended care, and I structure my days around the needs of the pets I'm caring for. Because my schedule is adaptable, I'm able to maintain reliable routines - feeding times, walks, medications, and play - which helps pets feel secure and settled. I'm especially well-suited for pets who benefit from steady presence, patience, and a calm environment. Safety, comfort, and routine come first in every home I care for. I take time to understand each pet's habits, personality, and any special needs so I can keep their environment calm, predictable, and stress-free. In a client's home, I respect your space as carefully as I care for your pet - keeping doors secured, following feeding and medication instructions closely, and maintaining your pet's normal schedule as much as possible. I'm attentive to small changes in behavior or appetite and communicate promptly so you always feel informed and at ease. I'm comfortable caring for pets of all ages, including seniors and those needing medications. Walks are attentive and controlled, with secure leashes and awareness of surroundings at all times. At the moment, I focus on care in your home (drop-ins, walks, and house sitting) so pets can stay where they feel most comfortable and secure.

FAQs for House Sitting - Wards Meadow

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Wards Meadow on Rover is $59.39 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 7,945 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wards Meadow. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wards Meadow walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wards Meadow maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wards Meadow choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wards Meadow. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
