“Sara was amazing watching our dog. We were given updates and pictures while we were on our trip to put our minds at ease. Our dog loved her and was well taken care of. She left our house super clean after staying there for a week. It can be hard to put faith and trust into someone to watch your house and pet that you love, but we are so glad we found Sara to take care of our dog. Would highly recommend”

“We recently had Cari take care of our 2 dogs for a few days and everything went perfect. She spent quality time with them and updated us frequently. She was very respectful towards all of our requests and made sure to keep them safe and happy. She went above and beyond our expectations and took away all of our worries. We will definitely be using her again.”

“Ryan was absolutely AMAZING, and I am so happy we found him! He kept us updated the entire time we were away, and allowed us to fully enjoy our vacation knowing our boy was in good hands. Every video he sent us was our dog crying because he was so happy to be around him. We will absolutely be using him for future get aways and cannot rave about him enough. I am so happy we found out go to person for get aways and I know our dog is obsessed with him and would love for him to stay again. I cannot thank you enough for taking great care of Denver while we were away! We will speak to you soon when we get another trip planned and I am sure Denver will be overjoyed to see you again! 🙂”

“Barb was a wonderful care taker for my xl dog and high-needs cat. She was great with communication, which I appreciated, and we were able to enjoy our weekend away knowing everything was in good hands. I would recommend her for anyone in need!”

“Alyssa went above and beyond! Alyssa was great and was in contact when our one dog had an upset tummy. Took such great care of the boys and had the house looking better than when we left it. Will definitely book with Alyssa again!”

“Jessica was absolutely wonderful! She kept our home incredibly clean — you would have never known anyone had stayed here. She was very communicative throughout the entire time, sending multiple updates and pictures each day, which gave us so much peace of mind. She is friendly, professional, and clearly cares about the pets she watches. We would absolutely use her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy sitter!”

“Erin was terrific!!!! She went out of her way to provide excellent care and attention to our 2 dogs. Both of our dogs are getting up there in age and one of them requires multiple medications which Erin took care of on a daily basis. She provided great communication and our home was well taken care of too. I highly recommend Erin as a pet sitter and would gladly use her services again!”

“Margaret was a wonderful pet sitter to our dog Lily. She stayed at our home to make sure our anxious doggy stayed in her normal routine. Margaret send me pictures of Lily so I could see that she was happy as can be! She also updated me often so I knew exactly how Lily was doing. I appreciate Margaret taking the time to do these things. Lily and I both agree that Margaret was a great pet sitter and would love to have her back again!”

“Jocelyn is the best!!! We have the best piece of mind while we’re away from our fur baby, she does a wonderful job! Helpful, kind, respectful, tidy, and goes above and beyond to make things easy. Thanks Jocelyn !!!”

“Jackie was amazing with our dog, Kiwi! She was super flexible with our schedule, even when we changed it three times. Kiwi took to her right away, which was such a relief. Jackie sent us adorable pictures, giving us peace of mind that Kiwi was having a great time. She played with, walked, and fed Kiwi, really going the extra mile. I can't recommend Jackie enough for anyone looking for a dog sitter! We definitely plan to reach out to her for our next pet-sitting needs. Thank you, Jackie!!”

“Nafisa took amazing care of our dogs over the holidays and treated them like family. She sent regular photo and video updates, which we really appreciated. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter!”

“Amazing with our Alaskan Malamute who tends to have separation anxiety and is very needy/snuggly. She gave her lots of attention and pretty sure our malamute had a better “vacation” than us away from our 2yr old and with all attention on her! Our outdoor cat was also treated wonderfully as well. Highly recommend Olivia.”

“Professional and talented house sitter! We had to leave town last minute and Elisabeth was here on schedule to meet and care for our dogs. She made record progress with our one who can be reactive to strangers, and kept them on their routine while we were away. Thanks and we will definitely rebook in the future.”

“Judith is always excellent, 100% the best!! Our 2 girls Sierra and Kiya love her so much, she cares for them perfectly and sends us updates (with pictures) everyday. Judith also goes above and beyond taking care of our house before checking out, leaving it cleaner than when she checks in. We love having Judith here keeping our dogs company when we're away, she is amazing. Thank you!”

“Joslyn took great care of my dog & cat for several days while I was on vacation. She was responsive, caring & responsible. She even won over my reserved dog who has separation anxiety! I highly recommend her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wanakah
We had Sarah stay with our pups when we went away for a weekend and we were very happy with our experience! She was very responsive and always kept us up to date with what was going on while we were away. She also cleaned up! We will definitely reaching out to Sarah to care for our fur babies again!

We had Jessica come stay overnight with our 6 rescue kitties for 3 days/nights. We never had anyone stay in our home or watch them before or used a pet service/rover before so we took a leap of faith after reading her profile and all these reviews! And so glad we did! She was sooo great and such a positive experience! She was so kind to the kitts, our home and us! (Not to mention she is such a cool human!) We got tons of pics daily and kept us in the loop throughout our trip. The relief we got knowing we could go away and get a break and know the kitties had great company and care was huge for us. We look forward to being able to go away in the future and having Jessica with our kitties in our home. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for peace of mind when away.

Ryan is the best! He stayed with my 3 pups for several days. He sent lots of photos and videos during his stay and gave updates on how everyone was doing. I’m so glad to have found someone we trusted, and that our dogs love. We can’t wait to have Ryan over again! Love, Ranger, Toby and Tilly 🤍

FAQs for House Sitting - Wanakah
Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 579 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wanakah. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wanakah walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wanakah maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wanakah choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wanakah. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 87% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
