“Megan and her family were the absolute BEST to our dog, Nova. Not only did they take her on a 5k on thanksgiving, which our dog LOVED, nova got to go on long walks everyday and play lots outside, and they even made Nova a christmas ornament with her paw print!!!! Megan was so amazing and texted me paragraphs morning and night about how our dog was doing and what she did that day or morning, along with so many photos! They took such good care of nova, probably better care than we even do sometimes haha, and i was surprised she still wanted to come home with us and not stay with megan and her family. If i could give 10 stars I would, I would recommend Megan to everyone!!! We have never had such an amazing experience with rover before, and will always take Nova to Megan now when we need sitting.”

“We left our 1.5 year old dog Lucy with Marilee for 5 days while we went to Alaska. I was a little nervous to start because Marilee has a lot of children and Lucy hasn't been around a lot of kids. Lucy did great and the kids loved here. Marilee's husband mentioned that she is a dog whisperer and I believe it. Lucy had been bored with us every since she came home. She clearly loved being there and we will definitely use Marilee and her family again.”

“Kortni was phenomenal with my senior dog, Mamut. She treated her with so much love and care and kept me updated with pics and news. Mamut has gotten a bit more anxious as she has aged and Kortni was very understanding and compassionate for my ole gal. Thank you Kortni! I appreciate you so much!”

“Samantha did a great job with Mack. We know that he is a bit anxious when we leave him and she was open to a meet and greet before-hand and did great handling him when we left. She checked in with us to let us know that he had calmed down. She took great care over a holiday weekend. Samantha was great!”

About: I love all creatures and if I could take them all in I would. But alas I am married to a man who loves animals but doesn't want our house overrun so I must rely on your loved animals to fill my heart. I have a background in health care so I can handle wound care and medication. I go on walks every morning and am used to going outdoors daily with my black lab, Rocky, fetching and playing. I love reasons to stay active and meet my health needs. I have a fenced backyard for outdoor play and a dog friendly house for indoor dogs. I am home all day everyday so I can give them attention and keep watch over them; cuddling them and playing fetch with them in the backyard or taking them to the park or river if that is what they like to do. I always make sure they have everything they need. And when we are out for walks I make sure they are on leash and in safe areas.

About: I’ve had and cared for dogs and cats my entire life. I’ve trained multiple dogs and I love every animal I come in contact with. My husband and I love to run, and take our two dogs every where - we would love to have more companions on the trail. I work from home, so can give your dog whatever attention they need. They must do well with other dogs, and we always go for runs and walks after the work day. I will happily do potty breaks, walks, hikes or even runs depending on your dogs age and breed. Please be clear on what your routine is like, as we do walks or hikes every day. My dogs have expectations with trail etiquette and yours will too. Please be honest about if they do best on leash or off leash - as they will need to be able to quickly recall. Do they have any dietary restrictions? Treats they don't do well with? Can they swim?

FAQs for Dog Boarding - Walker

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of November 2026, there are 81 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Walker. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

97% of sitters in Walker can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Walker home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Walker.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Walker sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in ID ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
