“We were so grateful for Julie’s help with our dog Ray. He was only 8 months old at the time of boarding and we were on vacation in Door County. Although we were hesitant to board our puppy with anyone, Julie was calm and inviting and Ray seemed to be comfortable with her immediately. We even took him for a day trip one of the days we were there and Julie was very accommodating and upon us returning him to her he gave her kisses as she brought him back inside her home. He seemed to be well taken care of and experienced all types of dog friends during his stay. Thanks for your help!!”

“Mary was amazing!! My dog does not normally like new people but he loved Mary and she took great care of him. I even had to book last minute because of a funeral. I was able to be fully present with my family at our time of loss because my dog was so well cared for. Thanks Mary!!”

“Mackenzie did a great job making us feel at ease leaving our dog with her while we were in town for a packers game. Our dog was so excited when he met her he hardly said goodbye to us and was in a great mood when we picked him up the next day. Mackenzie was great with communication and sending photos and updates.”

“Sara was awesome! Got pics and updates and so understanding when our plane was delayed! The dogs had a nice fenced in backyard to play abs got lots of love♥️ We absolutely love her and will use her again.”

“We loved working with Kimberly. She watched our dog for the first time and suggested a meet and greet to make sure she was a good fit with her own dog. We loved that and it made us trust her from the start. When we met her, Kimberly asked us many questions about our dog that made us feel like she would take very good care of her. Also, Kimberly’s home is quite literally the perfect set up for dogs. We know that our dog loved staying there and we enjoyed the updates Kimberly sent us throughout her stay. We will definitely be using her again in the future!”

“Colleen was amazing with our senior dog Max! He can be a nervous Nelly in new situations but she was able to settle him. Colleen seems very kind, has a genuine love for animals and seems patient! Highly recommend!”

“Trisha and her boyfriend were excellent with Rin! They did lots of walks and tons of lovin’s, both of which are Rin’s favorite! We could not have asked for better sitters. They even got up early on our pick up day to make sure Rin had a really nice long walk before we picked her up at 8AM”
“My mini poodle absolutely LOVES going to Camp Laura! Penny stayed with Laura recently for several days, and Laura took such amazing care of her. Penny got to walk and go to the dog park daily, play with Laura's pets and sleep in comfort each night. I never worry when Penny stays with Laura because Laura is so kind and caring. We will enlist Laura again when we need a safe and happy place for Penny! Thank you, Laura!”

“I was gone for 10 days and was nervous about leaving my dogs. They had fun making new friends and were well taken care of. Thanks to Melissa for the great job. She reassured this nervous mama via text and let me know my girls were doing great. She even reported that my picky eater ate!”

“Anu and her family continue to provide our Ginger with a wonderful stay while we travel. Ginger LOVES visiting! She gets lots of play and tons of love. We are so grateful to them for providing such a wonderful service and making Ginger feel right at home. Thank you for another great stay!”

“Kaylyn R. and her husband were amazing not only with my animals but myself as well. The communication and response time was fabulous. Our dogs are also "our children" and I feel so relieved to have found their home away from home! Thank you so much!”

“Erica is the BEST! She is so attentive, Wally got very comfortable around her very quickly. She is very caring and cautious, asking very detailed questions about my dog's habits and preferences and making sure he is comfortable and happy in her place. I also got many many photos of how my dog was doing, which was so lovely … Highly recommended!”

“Ram and Anu were fantastic! They sent videos, photos and even brought Nikky to visit me at the hospital for a couple hours. They treated Nikky like their own... plenty of love and interaction and fun. I will definitely book them again. I recommend them to anyone who truly loves their pet. I loved the photos of their daughter reading to Nikky and played with him. Their Chocolate Lab was a great buddy for Nikky. They played very well together.”

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
96% of sitters in Walhain can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Walhain home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Walhain.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
